    Hey man I agree with everything you said, I just picked up a gt500 and used to daily an m4. In terms of performance and sound the gt500 blows it out of the water. No comparison. The gt500 walked my stage 2 m4 in roll racing. But in terms of interior obviously the 500 is a mustang and the BMW is a BMW. Your paying for the motor/trans in the 500 and the M gets you the best interior with decent performance for the money. All personal preference if you ask me.

      same.. came from an audi to a gt500 :) fighting to keep it original for collectibility purpose but same time want just lay some Alcantara over certain parts or CF skin some parts.

    It depends what you want. The M4 is a grand tourer, the GT500 is a supercar killer.

    M used to be about performance first and I agree interiors were pretty good. M now stands for interior. That mustang shits on all your M cars and most of the porsche cars when it comes to performance. Budy of mine has one and when we go to HPDEs none of the germans come even close. During intermissions Some of the Porsche guys would stop by to take a look what whooped on their pricy german jewelry all day long. Bottom line is tables have turned and Germans are mostly garage queens.

    Got my 2020 for almost a year now. I like the fact it it's a regular mustang to people who do not know much about muscle cars so that I can blend in with a loud exhaust at a stop lol, also I got it for the engine and DCT. I agree that the interior is simple or boring but that is the way I like it. Great review!

    The horizontal tachometer is that way because of a setting someone set. By default the tach is supposed to change layout with drive move and there's a different style for each drive mode.

    The G6 Mustang is not a BMW in terms of refinement. As a track car however, and like a P GT3, a GT350/500 is a hero. You can sniff all you want about the interior, it is a fast track car, and comfortable enough for weekends too. Daily? Too much fuel, small tank and tires are pricey. Think of it as legal road going comp car and you can forgive it, and relish the brilliance of that capability. It’s not a BMW daily which they excel at. There is nothing however, that BMW produces that can touch it on a track. $100k bargain. I daily an X3MC, and track a GT500 CFTP. It’s a Supercar for the people.

    More of this stuff please... I like BMWs but LOVE cars. GT500 would be top of my list but I am still not sold on the dash cluster..it just rubs me the wrong way. The performance is undeniable but I have to live with the interior day in and day out. My current ride was over the 100K mark so it's not that the GT500 is out of the question but I get really picky about stupid things when the cost is this high. Appreciate the review man!!!!

    I have owned every Generation of M3s, except E30 M3, along with X3s and a 335 F30. So you can say I am a BMW fan boy. I also own a 991 Porsche Turbo S. I just bought a manual Mach 1 Mustang and I love it. I does feel like a big car but it handles great and the manual trans is fantastic, its an incredible fun car to drive. I am over high horsepower rear wheel drive cars, owned a Corvette ZR1, so not interested in a GT500 but the Mach 1 really hits the sweet spot in HP and manual.

    I’ve owned a Mustang, and this model in particular is 70K+ not because of the interior-all your money is going towards that beautiful V8 engine, suspension, and a long list of other items that tie directly into its performance. That being said, I moved from American and have owned Golf R, S4, and now a M2C and I too can’t see myself moving back. But I do see the attraction for this car.

Although i noticed you didnt get even close to red-line in this GT500… if thats the case you may be to timid to rev out a GT350.

    You're dedication to the manual transmission is commendable and i used to be there with you....tell everyone if it wasn't a manual, it wasn't a real performance car. We're losing this battle and to be honest, i'm okay with moving on. Got an A91 supra with no manual and i'm good, it's still a hoot to drive. I think of this like nobody uses a typewriter anymore either though it's essentially the same as a modern day computer with a word processor app. Manuals will be completely gone in 5 years, you will definitely never find a manual in electric cars.

    • @ljsites
      @ljsites 2 года назад

    The interior part is why I got into BMW. Was shopping for an AWD sedan, but i missed the old “fun” cars of the 90s and 00s. Was going between WRX and 3 series. The BMW won me over with the overall package. Wish I could afford the inline 6, but I’m satisfied with the n20 and a nice car… over a stronger 4 banger with cheap interior.

    • @intrapersonaI
      @intrapersonaI 2 года назад

      N20 is underrated! Delete the cat and put an active autowerke axleback and it sounds good! Got sound clips on my channel of my N20, but man they do a good job of being powerful enough until you're ready to step up to the inline 6's+ like I am. Next two years I'm hopin to upgrade 🙏🙏

    M5CS is quicker 0-60 but slightly behind in the 1/4 mile and a little slower trap speed. Top speed is pretty even for both track packages without limiters but the non-track pack GT500 can pass 200mph. Also, you never rang out the power through a few gears. It keeps building.

    Excellent and very objective review. I agree for a $100k car it should have a better looking interior, even though it has great performance. (Look at the C 8 for example.). I think it looks like an Ecoboost inside - very disappointing. I prefer the basic GT for value and reasonable performance. The BMW is the benchmark for overall quality interior and external. At this price point I’d buy a BMW. M4. But the M240 might be best overall value for enthusiasts!

The interiors of the 500 are trash for sure, but it's just fun to drive. As someone who has owned 11 Mustangs and has just recently jumped over to BMW/Toyota, I can say that I love my M340i as a daily and the Supra to me is just crazy cool. This car was a meant to be a tri-athlete of the big boy muscle cars. It is definitely a "jack of all trades, master of none" car. Besides when the DCT decides to not shift cause you did a long burnout before running down the drag strip its a fast and quick reacting transmission that has limited access. Even though its a 70k car its still a shell/interior of a 25k ecoboost. I can agree with you about the manual not being offered is a big miss. This would be the only reason i wouldn't buy one as if i could even afford one. It's a very fast roll race car i guess.

    So even with it being the “most powerful car Ford has ever made” it is still a Ford. Not that I am hating on them, but BMW it is not. Powerful, yes, but the finishes are never going to be as nice as a BMW. I detail cars and even things as simple as carpet are drastically different in a lower trimmed out BMW and a higher trim Ford. Just saying.

      yea that doesn’t help ur argument. bmw “luxury” is far from special. i’ve sat in g80s and they have just as much plastic as a premium package mustang. ambient lighting and colored leather isn’t luxury, nor is it quality. both cars have plastic, leather, carbon, alcantra. bmw is just a weird middle ground tbh, excels at nothing. as far as luxury mercedes blows it out of the water, and as far as performance this thing blows it out of the water. bmw isn’t better than ford. ford makes a faster car in every metric, so does dodge and chevy.

    Shoulda talked about the packages both companies offer on new cars. Having also been a 'stang owner in the past that was 'one' of my leading reasons to give up on Ford some time ago. They nickel and dime you for everything even on warranty cars..
    Mustangs to me are just a bit too uncultured and typical at this point (in my life - your life may differ!). Nothing state of the art or industry shaking, nothing really eye catching, even on the best of them as you're driving here - it's low end interior.. Great V8 mind you - but come on that's their bread and butter, they 'Better' have a good V8 in their lineup.
    What is their Market? That will tell you what the design is for and about.

I would never buy a BMW with out warranty again 🤦🏻‍♂️😂🤣☠️ always do research before buying a 3 series ULEV from Cali.

    SOB car can’t put down the power. Ford just over done it traction wise. It needs AWD for this much power. I had both a GT500 and a Jaguar F type SVT. The jag could put down the power because it was AWD. Sure the Shelby is faster once it hooks up. But it’s a dangerous car on the street. Now in a C8 2023 convertible and just a perfect car IMO. BMW has lost their way with that Edsel front end. Ugly as hell.

    I’d rather build a car for that price or buy a euro or Japanese car for that price and have way better quality materials. American made vehicles just simply don’t have quality materials most of the time when compared to euro. VW not so much lmfao their still shit for materials.

    The car is cool, but I think it's 15k over priced. Especially since all of the money is going to the engine, suspension, performance kits (that without it essentially make it worthless). Not to mention the absolute lazy cabin design like you said. Plus, American V8's just are so insufferable to me. Nothing rivals the S65 V8 sound or the 2UR-GSE V8. I'm mainly a 4/5/6 cylinder fan. It's always cool when you can do more with less. Doesn't help that everyone with a V8 feels a need to make an already loud car louder by straight piping it.
    I know it's a generalization, but I feel like V8 owners always feel like they *MUST* be the loudest things on the street. Good sound from your car isn't all about peak decibels friends!
