Had my very first hound on Hayling Island 2 weeks ago only around 4lb but put up a good show for himself. I used a very similar rig and on the top chinu. Cheers great informative video. Cheers Paul
Superb advice m8. Being a carp angler I started using a similar knotless knot set up about about 25 years ago when I was fishing for Huss in North Wales. I was using big squid baits and lost several good Huss as the top ‘wrapped’ hook on my pennel was slipping causing a blob of bait and with the hooks not showing I was pulling the bait straight out of there mouths - until I tried this rig. Will have to try it with a circle. Do you use it for Cod and what would be the best hook?

Every video dean is putting up atm is a real eye opener with the theory behind why he does what he does too stuff 👍🏻
Really helpful as Im out tmrrw and using circle hooks for the first time for smoothies... good stuff! subscribed

Great video, Dean always explains stuff very well
Another excellent well explained video ,Dean ,thanks .
Bit like a dongle rig with a second hook below the bait then. Ive not tried this rig, but am going to have to give it a go once the weather perks up👍
Nice little video mate 👍
Found your video very good . Tryed looking for the 80lb mono. To make some up .thank you
Starting with this rig this year
Love this rig and demo thanks Dean
Never caught 1 but hopefully this year will be the year.
Spot on Dean cheers worked a treat p.b hound of 17lb on the nose
Another great video by Dean... 👍👍 #vmo
Good video. That's how I make my soods, but I find the pully dropper a better rig for BIG hounds!
I usually use a 2 hook flapper rig bit havent caught a smoothie yet, hopefully ill get one

Show how you put your crabs on
3 hook flapper, single lug worm caught my best smoothhound. Middle hook
Do you think the knotless Knot would work on a Tope rig

Brilliant 👍🏻
Great video Dean, do you 'lose' your lead on every cast?
Yeah mate everytime
Can't really see whats going on at the 6:27 mark.
I didn't even know 100lb rig body line existed! Is the usual 60/70lb stuff not enough?
Oops, I mean 20lb stuff. 60lb ish for a shock leader. If your rig body is that heavy do you even need to use a shockleader?
