At best people will start siding CoH/MC as a going second package since they’re both completely dead going first, but we already have better board breaking tools going second anyways like Droplet being a pseudo spell speed 4 negate for as many monsters as you can discard for. DRNM also exists as a worse Droplet and kaijus sack off end bosses without needing to worry about getting negated. CoH will realistically just eat an omni. If it sticks then odds are you already chewed through your opponent’s negations and so you likely wouldn’t get any use out of a negate that whatever you took has since it goes back during the end phase. Lowering the lethal threshold is the only real concern, since aside from that it’s functionally the same as MC.
The reason CoH/MC/Snatch steal were busted was because we didn't have several negates in every meta end board and that just isn't the case anymore. Card could come to 3 and have no meta impact but it would be annoying for rogue decks I guess
Thinking of using it as a board breaker is wrong. You can use it to bait out a negate before you do your combo, but if they don't have an omni or if it goes past turn one, the card is so good.

As a Salamagreat player, my first turn board is basically Avramax and Sunlight Wolf plus whatever spell or trap I've hard drew that turn, now days Mirage Stallion is essentially a situational turn two removal for monsters your opponent control that you specifically don't want to get in the gy, like DPE or Absolute Zero. Since circle and mining are both at three each, there's now way less reasons to lock your board in to fire monster's effects at turn one instead of getting a monster on the field that avoid you dying for Utopia Double at turn two.

Concerning Yata, the reasoning for why Yata was banned for so long is likely not because of how "strong" it is, but similar to how MTG proports to ban cards as well, because Yata locking is/was an undesired play pattern. The thing is that YGO at this point is so far off the bonkers side that talking about Yata being undesired is silly in comparison to all the other broken stuff, but if you look at it from a general gameplay diversity/cohesion perspective it's completely valid to see it as yet another indicator for more of the opposite of that.
I can't believe I'm STILL seeing some people dooming and glooming about Yata being good. Normal summon Yata isn't even as good as normal summon Aleister, you know, the card from 2017? Oh also it gets returned to the hand so you have to spend 2 normal summons over two turns to blank 2 of your opponent's draws when every deck runs an insane critical mass of searchers. If you tried to Yatalock even something on the fringes like VW or Adamancipator they would just laugh at you. Not even mentioning the fact that anyone trying to use Yata efficiently will have to try and blind second against Despia with the Adventure engine with a normal summon that's as impactful to the board state as Jerry Beans Man.
i dont even think I'd care if they put pend to full power. deck is insanely susceptible to removal and realistically has aged into the power level of the metagame. I don't see pend decks becoming anything other than high tier 2 combo decks that lose going second.
That doesn't make the card not annoying I see why they unhit the card, it could totally end up being a niche tool, but also who wants to play against any competent deck that can integrate it
Like I've been saying. DPE and Dragoon are fine as long as you're forced to actually play the fusion spell like it's intended. Fusion Destiny locks you into dark heroes, which is most of the good ones anyway, and Red-Eyes Fusion prevents you from summoning the turn you play it, so you'd just be doing Dragoon>pass. And Branded can make both without their respective achetypal fusion spells thanks to Fallen of Albaz and their plethora of fusion support. I feel that the only way that Verte could come off the ban list is if it required the fusion spell it sends to only send from hand or field or banish from hand, field, or gy. Also banish the fusion spell instead of sending to the gy. If it banished the fusion spell, it could do any fusion spell, even Invocation (insert "normal summon Aleister joke" here).
Damn, good thing this is for paper TCG and not Master Duel, at least the Meow ban. I'm very new to Yu-Gi-Oh! and Prank-kids was the deck I got recommended that really made me enjoy the game, I really love love the tool-box feel of their extra deck monsters and their ability to react and play on both turns, the recursion as well, it really is the type of deck I really enjoy. I know there's a lot of ways to change deck builds to allow it to work without Meow, but I hope it doesn't completely kill the archetype, I really wanted to build a paper deck and start playing locally. For you guys that have more experience, what are some other archetypes with the same feel?
The banlist have murdered prank kids deck. Fyi this is 2nd deck been murdered after their murdered tele Dad strategy with huge banlist. Unlike pendulum that been murdered by master rules 4 rulling not banlist, tele dad is one of them that been murdered by banlist same like prank kids. Unlike other ban like zoodiac and pendulum where your still can be used and still best at rogue level, the ban of meow meow Mu have kill deck drastically from tier 1 level become gimmicks deck even cannot bet anymore top rogue deck. With this banlist, prank kids is same level as musket, gadget where your still can do a combo but not that easy anymore but not as worst as Ursarctic, really rely a lot of staple card to make prank kids deck work. Deck rely to much staple or floodgate (asside eldlich) to survive is really not good deck.
Limiting Halq instead of banning it feels the same as when they limited Meow Meow. I could be missing context because I don't play the game much anymore, but was Meow Meow not the same kind of choke point?
Halq honestly can't do much without Auroradon anymore. Halq grabbed the Tuner (usually Deskbot 001), then you link off into Auroradon with the two. Auroradon summons 3 tokens and then Deskbot 1 summons itself back. Pop 2 tokens for Coltwing, and suddenly you have enough Synchro material to make grown men cry.
Meow to 1 hurt the deck actually. Adventure saved it, and Meow ban probably killed it, for the meta scene. Halq to 1 doesn't hurt most decks except for Crystrons who don't do much anyway. Auroradon is the one that actually hurts, especially for Swordsoul variants, Infernobles (dead tbh) and some other niche decks.
i think change of heart is a funny unhit that won't really change things much other than people playing it and mind control in side decks to sometimes cheese wins but not really much more than that
Several decks can make Auroradon without the need for Halq, and they're just as busted without the boi. Tho tbf both should probably be banned at some point.
Kinda pissed they freed Yata, because I find it nice for it to be like a memorial of the creation of the banlist, as basically that card that will never be unbanned, regardless of its viability
@@chrisf.9595 I am well aware, however konami singled out exodia as the mainstay on the forbidden list to be pretty much the only card with lore related reasons for being on there. It'd be funny to keep yata on, but it's an internal consistency thing
Another thing about scapegoat Most decks summon on both turns, be it floating or dodging to replace itself, and dpe scythe especially So most decks other than set 5 pass aren't gonna be able to make great use of it, even then I doubt it I think guru control could use it, as you can still set with scapegoats
So which card was actually the worst card on the ban list Yata or Time Seal? I swear I heard you say that about the both of them in this video and I'm curious of which one you think is actually the worse of the two cards.
I’m curious, if halq received an errata that locked you into synchros from the extra deck for the rest of the turn, would it still be busted or would it be niche?
They probably didn’t want to hit Branded since the Albaz structure deck dropped last month. Heck, with distribution being what it is I’ve only just started seeing them in the wild.
What if the reason why they unbanned Yata was to make an entire deck around yata since they are running out of DM monsters to remake that people actually remember 0.0 (besides gate guardian which at this point i think konami doesnt remember)
I’m curious to see since the based deck and pranks won’t really be a thing and Pot and Tenki back to 2 will Tribrigade pure (maybe the cat version) be good again? The branded versions dead without verte but that’s honestly fine by me
and here I sit, happy that scythe is still legal. and correct me if I'm wrong but prankids wasn't even the 3rd best deck... yet it got killed... while other decks... didn't even get touched >.> idk
Starting from today, i have around 16 days to prepare for my country's nats playing pretty much a new format, and every deck i tested previous format has been invalidated by the hits in this list. Thanks Konami. I can play Monkeyboard again tho, so i cant complain
You know, potentially yata could be played in Floowandereeze. It wouldn't be good but it would be funny as hell Edit: never mind I forgot yata is a fiend and not a winged beast
The thing I hate about this list is that its not wrong, but the fact that Verte and Auroradon needed to be banned just shows how lazy Konami got with these link cards for previous archetypes in the series. Theres no reason why the Crystron, Predaplant, and Mecha Phantom beast links needed to be so generically available and powerful. But they were, and everybody hates them. Its like they didn’t learn anything with Isolde. What’s that? Noble Knight? Never heard of them. This shit’s a Hero card BABY.
"making prank kids a force for the past 2 years" there's no way phra is 2 years old now. I guess I know how Joseph felt now when they mentioned how old crossed souls is in playoffs.
they just gave it indirect hits no verte means less consistent DPE to pop it with halq to 1 means you can't just resort to do wonder magician bs to pop it
This list just feels like Konami execs sat down the the boardroom, agreed on what the bans need to be in a business like manner, then preceeded to break out the liquor and drugs for the rest of the list.

8:55 Idky but i find the voice during that so much funnier than I really should. Also, lowkey getting a little hint of Syrus in that voice too
Limiting Halq instead of banning it feels the same as when they limited Meow Meow.
I could be missing context because I don't play the game much anymore, but was Meow Meow not the same kind of choke point?
And Firewall, its been limited, gonna get banned next list
@@boraaksitozgun9912 a lot of Crystron builds play 1 Halq anyway. It's recyclable with Impact if you really need it
Let's be real here, this list is amazing. However, Change of Heart will likely be a one-off like snatch steal,
I agree with you on your analysis on the ban list. There’s a lot of questionable changes in it.
i think change of heart is a funny unhit that won't really change things much other than people playing it and mind control in side decks to sometimes cheese wins but not really much more than that
What you described with Baronne and Change of Heart is what I did exactly with TTT. Was instrumental in winning that game.
Why must the mecha phantom beasts continue to suffer for halqifibrax’s sins
Several decks can make Auroradon without the need for Halq, and they're just as busted without the boi.
Tho tbf both should probably be banned at some point.
Going second strategies rejoice! More insane going second cards to come ;)
As a Stardust... Speedroid... Galaxy... Gren Maju... Actually, just as a YuGiOh player, this list makes me very happy. Eat sh*t, DPE turbos~
Kinda pissed they freed Yata, because I find it nice for it to be like a memorial of the creation of the banlist, as basically that card that will never be unbanned, regardless of its viability
Exodia kinda already occupies that space
@@smallman9787
But exodia is only limited
Iirc yata was amongst the first monsters to get banned
But pot of greed?
@@chrisf.9595 I am well aware, however konami singled out exodia as the mainstay on the forbidden list to be pretty much the only card with lore related reasons for being on there. It'd be funny to keep yata on, but it's an internal consistency thing
@@wiccanjace What about it?
Another thing about scapegoat
Most decks summon on both turns, be it floating or dodging to replace itself, and dpe scythe especially
So most decks other than set 5 pass aren't gonna be able to make great use of it, even then I doubt it
I think guru control could use it, as you can still set with scapegoats
So which card was actually the worst card on the ban list Yata or Time Seal? I swear I heard you say that about the both of them in this video and I'm curious of which one you think is actually the worse of the two cards.
I love how Verte is banned in both the tcg and ocg, but not on Master Duel for some reason
This was my favorite MBT list
My Sunavalon will be a force to be reckoned
I’m curious, if halq received an errata that locked you into synchros from the extra deck for the rest of the turn, would it still be busted or would it be niche?
Would still be better than niche, but nowhere near as busted as it currently is.
Avogadro’s number of negates 😭😭😭
change of heart Apollousa and you are immune to handtrap
They probably didn’t want to hit Branded since the Albaz structure deck dropped last month. Heck, with distribution being what it is I’ve only just started seeing them in the wild.
Halqifiber can be recycled actually by using it to summon Deep Sea Prima Donna on the following turn.
Thank you for an honest reaction video. 👍
What if the reason why they unbanned Yata was to make an entire deck around yata since they are running out of DM monsters to remake that people actually remember 0.0 (besides gate guardian which at this point i think konami doesnt remember)
Jey synchron making a comeback makes me so happy for my yusei themed synchro turbo deck
That Tucker joke was amazing.
Time Seal must be a Mystery Rune strategy, so Konami unbanned it maybe?
Should have put Opening to 1. Buffing already the best deck of the format is classic TCG Konami for you.
Tucker Carlson LIVE: "What the Unban of Change of Heart means for the future of America"
what would you have brought withoout this banlist?
wonder what the meta has to look like for block dragon to come back
Yay! Tenki is back!
With the banlist being effective upon release, how does this affect the moron banlist tourney?
I’m just glad I can play jet warrior
I’m curious to see since the based deck and pranks won’t really be a thing and Pot and Tenki back to 2 will Tribrigade pure (maybe the cat version) be good again? The branded versions dead without verte but that’s honestly fine by me
Probably not since they can't play adventurer
And you have to burn revolt on your opponent's adventurer engine to not lose apo or ddl
and here I sit, happy that scythe is still legal.
and correct me if I'm wrong but prankids wasn't even the 3rd best deck... yet it got killed... while other decks... didn't even get touched >.> idk
Starting from today, i have around 16 days to prepare for my country's nats playing pretty much a new format, and every deck i tested previous format has been invalidated by the hits in this list. Thanks Konami. I can play Monkeyboard again tho, so i cant complain
I'm sad Verte got banned right before the new predaplants get released, but I understand why its gone.
I never thought I'd see the day change of heart got unbanned. Someone at Konami clearly wanted to see the dueling world burn with some of these unbans
Like, I don't even think MBT was insane enough to unban CoH for his masochist tournaments.
Change of heart pretty good you can use the monster swing 2 for 1 style or just smack opponent face with it.
I also thought this was a troll. After I went through it, I deadass said “is this for real”
You know, potentially yata could be played in Floowandereeze. It wouldn't be good but it would be funny as hell
Edit: never mind I forgot yata is a fiend and not a winged beast
Yata is a fiend
@@HareHaruhi why the fuck- okay I guess with Japanese mythos it makes sense. I guess I was wrong.
Would love to see some of this stuff in Moaster Duel QnQ
The thing I hate about this list is that its not wrong, but the fact that Verte and Auroradon needed to be banned just shows how lazy Konami got with these link cards for previous archetypes in the series.
Theres no reason why the Crystron, Predaplant, and Mecha Phantom beast links needed to be so generically available and powerful. But they were, and everybody hates them.
Its like they didn’t learn anything with Isolde. What’s that? Noble Knight? Never heard of them. This shit’s a Hero card BABY.
Warrior Toolbox card*
I saw the change of heart unban on reddit this morning and I was certain I was being pranked.
"making prank kids a force for the past 2 years" there's no way phra is 2 years old now. I guess I know how Joseph felt now when they mentioned how old crossed souls is in playoffs.
I'm surprised they didn't touch sycthe at all, but being a pure artifact player, it's a blessing for me.
they just gave it indirect hits
no verte means less consistent DPE to pop it with
halq to 1 means you can't just resort to do wonder magician bs to pop it
This list just feels like Konami execs sat down the the boardroom, agreed on what the bans need to be in a business like manner, then preceeded to break out the liquor and drugs for the rest of the list.
Cries in crystalbeast using neos fusion
I think people don't realize how big of a hit auroradon is to swordsoul. It was really important even in the more pure and tenyi builds
You don't have to play the Deskbot brick, and you have another Desires now. The deck has a good Despia matchup so it'll still be tier 1
@@Harmonic14 yea I am not saying that the deck is gonna be bad at all, but the auroradon ban still does a lot
I play scapegoat in Melffy because it's the only deck that plays double missus radiant
The semi limits are mostly master duel influenced
I love the videos it's especially funny when the girl randomly says that was wrong
Konami: I've had it with that mf snake and that mf plane!
Had to root through my ancient bulk to pull out my change of hearts, original text but let's goooo
Monkeyboard to 3 soon
Thankfully Scythe not banned
Bringing out the Micro Protector Yata Lock :) for YCS
Pot of desires at 2 lets fucking gooo
i really want someone anyone to break yata just to prove its still possible
Trickstar Yata lock sounds like a cool deck to play against :)
The draw phase has become so irrelevant that striker is running offerings to the doomed to dodge imperms and protect mystic mine. Yata to 3 baby
I am kind of sad to lose auroradon because I wanted to build magikey. Gotta find a new build now. But I do realize that the card is busted as shit
And as it turns out the biggest miss of all was not touching mystic mine
Doesn’t this mean synchron best deck? LETS GOOOOOO
Auroradon is a swordsoul hit.
Fusion destiny should go to 1 more than 3.
Benten to 2 does nothing because Eva is banned.
DDD has strong matchups going first against branded/SS
