I think one thing MBT missed here was the hit to Gamma, limiting it to 1. It makes things like Shifter or Droll more powerful against decks like SHS or Purrely as it makes it a lot harder to negate them, considering you only get the one shot. With 3, it makes it more plausible that you'll have it in your opening hand, now with 1, at least to me, it seems like it's a hail mary. All in all, I think this banlist didn't really do much to change the power of Kashtira, mainly just cutting out one frustrating thing (the "show me that extra") and making it mildly less consistent by taking a single copy of Unicorn away and leaving you with a single copy of Ariseheart (not like I ever see more than one copy per match with Kashtira anyway).
going from 18 copies of delicious memory to 1 copy and a 33% of my friend purrely finding it kills the deck, its relied heavily on plump and your way more likely to not get it then get it now

Wild choice to... Hit the second third and fourth best decks in extremely important ways and look Kash in the eyes and say "ariseheart to 1" Somehow, this banlist did the opposite of the expected and moves the banlist backwards and into the older format instead of a new post-kash enviroment

"Hits to decks that have lived their lifespan" is such an awful, toxic mentality in the yugioh community. Bans should be applied to decks that are overcentralising and too good in their current state. The point of banlists SHOULD be to balance the game, and make is so that there's a variety of decks that are playable, instead of this cycle of 1-2 top decks that get really expensive, get hit and become unplayable to push the next deck
That would be better, but with archetype powercreep kinda stopping years ago, konami needs some way to get people to buy new products Most decks never had such a chokehold of the meta to require being killed by the banlist anyway, but if they remain legal less people would play the new stuff
I promise you they are substantial hits. Diablosis+ 1/2 Shangri-Ira going first is a zone lock 3, 5, or better every time. Without it, zone locking is reduced to about 3

While Konami has very little direct communication with the community, I'm sure they have people watching every video a medium/big Yugituber makes, and also reading the comments. The point is, don't stop complaining, they are listening, at least part of it.
As a branded player I am actually really happy with expulsion being gone, I really enjoy the non expulsion combos and I think it's much more fun to have to actually setup a board, is it weaker? Most likely yes, but I think for the better, also no diabolosis means more extra deck space which the deck desperately needs

I’ve been waiting to play Purrely in MD ever since I saw them released in the OCG and seeing them perform spectacularly was a joy but with this banlist I don’t even know if I want to invest in it
The deck after Duelist Nexus is fine. You’re gonna want to pick up the core after people start offloading it due to the list. Epurrely Noir fixes almost everything wrong with the deck, so I wouldn’t sweat it.
Your opinions on balance and game design are always super interesting to me. I'd love to see you do a complete opposite of the masochist banlist tournament, and ban like 300 cards to try and change them meta. it would be interesting to see the game without all of the instant win equalizers, floodgates and omni negates

so lab is finally possibly the best deck. the thing is now will an altergeist happen. people know lab is good so they play there out of the world strong anti trap deck cards which make labs matchups super swingy or maybe because you can search and activate eradicator in lab specifically it actually can beat the anti trap deck cards

Also, While I am glad Cyber-Stein got hit, I have mixed thoughts about it as summoning Naturia Exterio in SHS felt like one of the few plays of the "extra deck vomit machine" playstyle that actually kinda fit the deck: with the S/T hate, and the banish & mill cost was one of the few ways SHS could access to a foolish burial effect, that actually fits its style depending on the built and cards playing (sending stuff like gigagloves, flutist, fist or drum that are sometimes useful, but the problem is getting them in the GY) 1:16 Yeah. It wasn’t what we needed, but I think this banlist is fine for now. I know people were excited about super heavy and purrley, but those two decks had a similar problem to kash in that they have hyper centralized cards that were absolutely insane and warped the play style of both decks. (Purely got hit way worse imo) hopefully this will open up the meta for some tinkering because Despite what Joseph said here some decks got absolutely insane tools like denglong for swordsoul and sky striker. Not that I like playing against those decks, but sky striker with that much power absolutely dumpsters kash on the play since they can afford to sack an engage now and swordsoul gets to blow through way more interaction instead of sitting on chengying and a prayer

Konami legitimately just decided to hit Superheavies. What have we ever done to need any kind of hit? I know people have made the new FTK but instead of hitting the actual card that makes it possible, they hit our ban our only link monster.

It wasn’t what we needed, but I think this banlist is fine for now. I know people were excited about super heavy and purrley, but those two decks had a similar problem to kash in that they have hyper centralized cards that were absolutely insane and warped the play style of both decks. (Purely got hit way worse imo) hopefully this will open up the meta for some tinkering because Despite what Joseph said here some decks got absolutely insane tools like denglong for swordsoul and sky striker. Not that I like playing against those decks, but sky striker with that much power absolutely dumpsters kash on the play since they can afford to sack an engage now and swordsoul gets to blow through way more interaction instead of sitting on chengying and a prayer
