The cars originally came with the allen wrench to close the sunroof in case of power loss. Good luck finding a Honda original part. Thank you for the video. Mine has been apart for a while and now the new roof is here, so needed a reminder for re-assembly. I did take all the metal parts and remove the rust and repaint them, and cleaned all tracks so new grease would be much more effective, (used white lithium grease).
Hi, in the end the metal seal holder were veru rusty, therefore we bought so replacement firbreglass parts. Yes, we lubricated the sliders, and this helps a lot with the working of it. Thanks
I have been in contact with Luciano in Portugal recently; he had pandemic related delays getting fiberglass materials needs to make sunroof panels ... he expects to begin shipping again late August 👍🏻
Great Vid, thank you. My CRX sunroof is also finished and needs some love. Do you have a contact for the replacement metal brackets made in fibreglass please?
Since it's a bit lower on the front of the sunroof you might want to just use some thin washers to get that back up to a desirable height. Also, what is the link to the site that produces those sunroof panels? I enjoy the channel fellas and keep up the awesome work.
I think that the seal brackets (the rusty ones) make the front of the seal lower than it should be. Also the sunroof panel I put in, seems to not be flat itself. Not sure if this wad like this when it was made, or if it happemed during the painting process (too close to a heat lamp). Either way I willbe doing another video on it soon. Thanks for the comment
Hi, there is a guy from Portugal called Luciano Oliveira who make thw fibreglass sunroof and the four seal holder which are also usually rusty. Look him up on Facebook. Or in the CRX-UK Facebook Group. Cheers
I received my fiberglass unroof panel, & support brackets for my '91 CRX, from Luciano in Portugal today. He does excellent work. I am now having it painted and plan to install in a few days 👍🏻
@@tavo017 Thx, got he new fiberglass sunroof painted & installed .. took a little tweaking to get it to fit just right. Won't know how well I did .. until it rains :-)
I've watched your video several times now ... do you think it is possible to remove/replace the sunroof panel w/o removing the entire sunroof mechanism ? Great vid
No I dont think it is possible... you have to take the whole mech down. Wish it wasnt like this... but I guess Honda wasnt thinking about people 30 years down the line lolz.
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 Thanks for the reply. Guess I’ll wait till Luciano is ready to ship to the States before I try to remove the whole system; just hope my sunroof panel doesn’t corrode into a pile of rust while I wait.
@@twin2civicgaraget2cg75 you seem to have a professional auto paint set-up; what would you recommend to prime the fiberglass panel and how did you color-match the Honda color ? thx.
Yes, I have only just seen that, it is a 5mm. Either way that sunroof was so jammed up, I think it might have stripped the allen head. Pushing it seems like a safer bet. Thanks for the comment.

Maybe you could take those bits that hold the seal to a metal shop and have them remake some copies.
I have found someone who makes fibreglass copies if the brackets... which come with a fibreglass sunroof. Will be doing another video on it.
Thanks
7:22 ive been waiting 9 months for the link in the description....
Wow, I am sorry to hear that. I hope the seller is trying to resolve things.

@@battlechief Yeah, I hope you get to fix it. I just would advise against one of those fibreglass fixed in bungs.... had a bad time removing mine.
