So funny, I watched a top 10 mega projects video yesterday about South Africa and this was one of the projects. I tried to find it on streetview, the newest view is May 2023, but I guess I missed the big construction areas. Nice looking project!
People ....PLEASE WAKE UP, and do your due diligence aboyt these SMART cities. Surveillance, monitoring. Restricted movement.....

Hi david, how many houses/units will be built there? At the inauguration by president it said that Balwin will build about 50 000 units in phases. It was also said that the project will be replicated in other major cities if it is successful.

So the whole smart city has 15000 units, while the president promised 1million units/houses in alexander😭
50 000 apartments on completion, however this is not the smart city Cyril was talking about that one is Lanseria Smart city aimed to among 1.5 million residents at completion
@@faithshaun5187 I am referring to the one he promised people of Alexander. i don't know when did Alexander became Lanseria; he was not even talking about a Smart City he was just electioneering.

I admit, the finishes are beautiful. But no thank you. I won't manage in such tiny spaces and neither will my donkeys. Truly, why would I want to live in a place where everything I do is monitored. And I have no privacy in my garden? (which is way too small) Or when I am in the pool? Where would I picnic? At the pool? On someone else's lawn? Where would I put my veggie garden with my home grown food? Or my chickens? My dogs? I tend to feel like a selected few will end up living here. Almost like, an emperor living inside the palace walls and the underdogs living on the outside working to produce whatever goes to the inside of the walls. Perhaps those that advocate such projects, either know exactly what the bigger picture here is or they have no clue. *sigh* what is our world coming to.
