I once asked you to compare between Steyn City and Waterfall. After seeing this I can say that Waterfall got nothing on Steyn City. The furnishing and finishes are just out of this world. This place is a dream. Thank you once again for walking us through.
Waterfall city tho in my opinion is a bit better than Steyn, I just think in narrows down to target audience, Waterfall's housing is more Affordable from the upper middle class areas to rich estates whilst Steyn is just for the rich, plus Waterfall is bigger with more things to do around the city than Steyn, but Steyn is new so we will see in the upcoming years

The reason why houses are less expensive there is because you don't own the land but you get it leased to you for 99 years, so basically the property is not yours. My comparison was based on the Ellipse apartments in Waterfall compared to City Centre apartments. Steyn City and Waterfall are almost replicas of each other and are closely matched, but Steyn City just edges ahead of Waterfall.

If you are afraid u are afraid of paying that for a $1M stand for example, which works out to $50,000 @ 5%...u can place it into a fund that earns anything btn 7-10% compounding every year and u shall have no trouble at all. $50,000 is peanuts for someone with $1M

The only thing that sucks at the moment is the horrendous stench of the damn sewage plant and fertilizer factory. You can't even enjoy being outside in summer around 3 - 5pm. Luckily they are working on it but damn!!!!

Few days ago I just saw the video on Munyaka Ligestyle Estate and was blown away. Having seen that, the "lagoon" here looks like an after thought and just one giganitc swimming pool. Loved the rooftop swimming pool though.
Steyn City is really wonderful, almost too good to be real! Especially here in South Africa, there's a growing gap between the Have's and Have nots. I'm curious to see what demographics of people will be filling these spaces....hopefully it's not a case of gentrification rearing its ugly head - like what's happening in Cape Town. Have you been to Hillbrow lately? It's scary. I stay away. When walking those streets it feels like your going to be kidnapped any second. It's a pity because when I was a student back in 2011 we used to walk through there with no problem and Yeoville was such a melting pot of cultures and cuisine. I moved back to joburg in November when I was viewing apartments i wanted to live in the city again and unfortunately quickly realized that it wasnt like i remembered it its gone very bad. So i chose to live in Randburg instead which is safer. Even Maboneng isn't like it used to be the blight of Hillbrow is slowly taking maboneng as well.

The City Centre is something else hey… no words can describe Steyn City, I literally have no words.
I took the plunge and invested! Even though my apartment is on the rental market, I enjoy Steyn city every weekend. Winter and summer.
