I was fortunate enough to have done work on Steyn City property in 2017-2018..myself and my assistant was responsible to install the street names on each corner of each street ( it was a total of about 120 plus road name signs). As well as a sign at the equestrian side. It was awesome to see the exquisite designes of houses as well as the entire Steyn city in total.

I don’t think anyone understands how large this place is! What was shown was maybe 10 percent of the actual estate. It’s literally a city. When you saw shots of green trees in the FAR distance, that was all part of the estate! I’ve been living here for about a year now and I’m still discovering new places. I’m going to need a few more years to go through it all 🤣 It’s honestly unlike any other estate in the country. It’s far ahead of its time. Douw Steyn is a genius 🤯
How do you feel living there? I'm assuming it's safe but is there a better class of person living there? Like is everyone respectful of their neighbours and the rules? Living there, do you feel protected from the horrors in SA?
@@jn8922 Yes it’s as safe as you can expect. You definitely can let your guard down once inside and it really does feel like another world - Not in the least Johannesburg with its associated issues. And yes, for a lack of a better term, the caliber of people are quite different. Just seeing people around the estate, it’s quite evident. They’re pretty respectful all round, and not something I’ve experienced in other estates. One annoying thing though, is that people in the estate have mostly loud, crazy supercars or highly modified cars. And they make it known throughout the estate. No matter the true percentage of those that can afford it, South Africans need a Steyn City - to just dream. Yes, even the guys working the lawns can dream. Dreaming is not only free, but it can also push you to work towards certain goals.
it is beautiful and I'm glad in terms of the development and knowledge it brings to the country but I'm worried if the majority of South Africans afford to reside in places like this. the issue of land is very serious, it is not fair for an individual or a family to own so much land, we can not run away from the fact that we are living the quencequanceses of the apartheid systems
What about African countries who got their independence in the 60s and they are far worse off than South Africa, what are you gonna blame there! Mr Steyn started his wife insurance business in the early 90s to compete with the Big Boys like Old Mutual, after the stint of living & working in the States! He becomes successful, he buy himself a piece of land & roll out the eco estate property development! We than take an opportunity to blame apartheid! ANC government has been in power for 27 yrs now, but they are more focused on enriching themselves!!
True mfwethu... However most of us Blacks dont want to work towards achieving something....we only cry foul when we see beautiful things done by other races...having capitalised on available opportunities to them... i live in rural area where there had been white owned farms. Government bought those farms and handed them back to community...today nothing literally Nothing Shows any commercial activity ..they sold every piece of metal and stripped houses down.
Some of y'all are annoying really. What would you have done with all that land? He bought it and developed it, now you guys want to complain. Like somebody said above, what about the countries where they gained their independence long before us, but still haven't much to show for it, who then do you blame? Colonialism and the White man again?
I'm sorry, but our previously disadvantaged current government ministers personally own huge game farms, thousands of hectares. And believe me the true previously disadvantaged are not welcome to 'share' the land I promise you. History is repeating itself but now its the current government 'elite's' who are not fighting to make a difference in their own poor peoples lives.

Can anybody tell me if SC has plans to be off-grid in future so as not to have loadshedding on the estate?

You're very welcome!😊
Wow what a Paradise living mega beautifull amazing view everywhere clean mooiest Johannesburg Dankje voor video uitzicht 👌👌❤☘️
wow south Africa is really beautiful
This is really stunning.
Sad though that maybe only about 1 % of the population can afford to "escape" to this little piece of heaven.
That's the case with high end estates all over the world
It certainly is an escape. I wonder how it must feel for the workers being there all day then going back to live I their Shacks.
@@PrincessVelaryon You know! Lifes a beatch!
@@PrincessVelaryon well said😭😭💔💔
No matter the true percentage of those that can afford it, South Africans need a Steyn City - to just dream. Yes, even the guys working the lawns can dream. Dreaming is not only free, but it can also push you to work towards certain goals.
Steyn City remain GOATed I'm watchin this tour for the 5th time
If orania was this dope we'd have a problem with it

Will Steyn City have it's own shopping mall, hospital & clinic in the future
Most probably because is an ongoing project, but only accessible by residents.
Definitely getting my house here❤️🔥
You can't beat Jozi . Eko Atlantic city any comments ??
Words elude me ,Beauty at its best.
it is beautiful and I'm glad in terms of the development and knowledge it brings to the country but I'm worried if the majority of South Africans afford to reside in places like this. the issue of land is very serious, it is not fair for an individual or a family to own so much land, we can not run away from the fact that we are living the quencequanceses of the apartheid systems
The whole world is like that. Not just here. Even in America, not everyone can afford to stay in Beverly Hills.
I must say this is just amazing... But I bet the levies in this place leave a hole in a pocket worth to ward off many buyers...
I will be living here with my husband and kids by the end of this year. Glory be to God
What made you move to South Africa bro? Dispite the negative media coverage about South Africa.
