    Bobby Hatfield is basically a tenor but with his range he is classified as a countertenor.

    Remember this was a live performance no do overs like today. Bobby owns this song he did it effortless and it was sheer perfection. Many Artists before and after him have done this song but no one will ever compare to this performance. THERE ARE 2 RIGHTEOUS BROS. NO GROUP.Bobby Hatfield (doing this song)had the tenor voice and Bill Melody is the baritone voice.but they also did solos Bill is there just not singing.They shouldn't have blended together but they did and it was pure magic when they sang pure soul.

    I was 15 years old when I watched him sing this beautiful song on the Andy Williams show in 1965. I fell in love with his voice. He is so awesome! I loved the Righteous Brothers music. I still have their vinyl record albums. I will cherish their music and memories. I'm 72 yrs old and I hope my grandchildren will appreciate the vinyl record albums I have left for them to cherish as I have loved from my teenage years.

    The Righteous Brothers consisted of two members, Bill Medley and Bobby Hatfield. This song was sung live on tv, but instead of both members singing it, they had a coin toss to decide who would sing it solo, and Bobby Hatfield ended up being the one to do it. Bill Medley was actually playing piano, you just can't see him as he is out of the spotlight. Bobby was often nervous on stage, but this night was particularly special because his parents were in the audience.

    If you look real hard at the end of the song you will see Bill Melody and Andy Williams coming out to join him.Listen to YOU'VE LOST THAT LOVING FEELING BY THEM. it was played more times than any other song in American Radio history.No other song has surpassed it yet.

      Yes I could see the joy this angelic singer his song and video gave to you. And I know that you will have watched it in whole so you could see it flow through without interruption over and over again. hehe
      My favorite love song used to be "Only You" by the Platters but Unchained Melody will now forever be my first place love song as it is as near to perfection as i can imagine. If you have not seen "Only You" I think you will really enjoy it too as you have said you like love songs. :)

  • @mrk8050
    @mrk8050 3 года назад +1

    I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped.
    I must have done something write because we're still together and she still puts up with my singing. With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, we got busy on 3 of our baby's when I was home, we adopted the young afghan woman and her 2 daughters at the end of 2015 after they saved my life in Afghanistan (a story for another time), and we are so much better for having them, we love all our family and that is our strength. I served my Queen and Country for 34 years in the Royal Marine Commandos and later in the British Special Forces, and then 2 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm mainly wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were both 15.

    HI JOY, THIS PERFORMANCE IS WHAT WE NOW CALL "X-FACTOR" PLUS. THIS WAS LIKE AN ANGEL SINGING - POWERFULLY BEAUTIFUL.
    BOBBY SUNG THIS SONG SOFTLY, SWEETLY, SMOOTHLY, SENSUALLY AND WITH SOUL GRIPPING PASSION THAT WAS SO PURE, CLEAN, ELEGANT & POWERFULLY BEAUTIFUL.
    I HAVE HEARD MANY VERSIONS OF THIS SONG (incl Elvis & Neil Diamond), BUT BOBBY SUNG IT THE BEST - PERIOD. HE TRULY OWNS THIS PARTICULAR SONG
    THIS SONG IS SO ICONIC, IT WAS IN THAT FAMOUS FILM "GHOST" STARRING PATRICK SWAZYE AND DEMI MOORE. THIS SONG AND THAT FILM WERE A PERFECT MATCH.
    I HAVE SEEN MANY GIRL REACTORS AND MOST GET SO EMOTIONAL OR TEARY OR SPEECHLESS OR OVERWHELMED OR "FELL IN LOVE" WITH BOBBY AND THIS SONG.

    One criticism is that you spoke over his singing, or you were trying to speak over his singing at the end when he hit those high notes. It was hard to understand what you were saying. You could have just waited for the song to end to speak, rather than interrupt his singing.
