    Artists before and after him did this song but no one can or ever will do it like Bobby. He's sheer perfection.He sang so effortless. BOBBY And Bill Melody together were pure magic.Hope you hear them together.

    He is only 23 years old in here and his parents were in the audience. Bobby suffered from stage fright so this would have had more nerves. That is having *CONTROL* in his singing just like you said.
    He doesn't even NEED auto tune.

    I challenge any soprano who isn't opera trained to hit that last note. And he did it with no strain. RIP Bobby Hatfield.

    I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped.
    I must have done something write because we're still together. With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, we got busy on baby's when I was home. I served my Queen and Country for 34 years as a Royal Marine Commandos and British Special Forces, and then 2 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were both 16.

    Another voice that is above and beyond the norm is from THE PLATTERS amazing song "ONLY YOU". The lead male singer was only 17 when he sung that song, their youngest member was 15. The bands parents had to sign for them. The band were a monster hit maker in their day. Epic stuff from 4 kids discovered singing on a street corner.

    I loved seeing your heartfelt reaction to This classic performed by THE ONE AND ONLY--BOBBY HATFIELD !! The likelihood of seeing anything as good is a very remote possibility !! He has more fantastic songs on You Tube and you will be amazed and hooked for life !! He has more beautiful love songs: Only You, Ebb Tide, Somewhere, My Prayer, to name a few. He also excels in rock, doo-wop, and some great inspirational ones like: I Believe, He, Crying in the Chapel, and one performed with his partner, Bill Medley, "You'll Never Walk Alone". If you check these songs out you will be amazed at the many sides to his great talent !! Hope to see some of your reactions to these. Thanks, Cathy

    To many pauses

    • @imnotabotrlyimnot
      @imnotabotrlyimnot 3 года назад

      Common among reviewers. They're not really reviewing a song, just one part of one at a time. No one listens to a song for the first time like that, it completely kills the flow of the song. They should listen to the whole song and if they need to listen again do it off camera, then go back on camera and give their thoughts.

    You pause WAY too often, at at some of the worst times! Only to keep repeating the same thing: "it's so calm, it's so calm". That is not the most impressive thing about this singer. You missed the point if you think that's it.

    In your bio you write, " I am a Christian." Then why do you break the third commandment so often in your comments.

      Amen! She probably doesn't know? Hopefully!
      You never use Gods name ( name in Vain) unless your praising, praying, worshipping or reading straight from his holy word! May God bless all those who are listening!! 🙏💗😊
