My passed Quaker loved to chase us to pite our toes, didn’t help that we laughed and just sped (ran) away from home and that just sorta motivated him to keep doing it chasing us and sometimes his bites did get carried away. As in he never let go and just bit harder 😂
The video where kiwi was chewing and biting your dad's cloth my Peach does the same to my cloths 😂 and the way they chase people away from their room that's exactly how my two chase away people from their new room 😅 Your every video for example was very helpful and relatable for my parrots too 😊 Luza was nodding when you mention her rescue and stuff, how can they be so cute 😭
@@mimisbirdhouse yeah same they make this cute face when i scold them for biting me ( just a little scolding in low voice not loud and not often ) how can i stay mad at their face and moves they play to make me smile 😭
@@Monart7487 right! Sometimes i’ll scold her for biting and then she will make puppy eyes and kiss the place she bit or boop it like that video and then i feel guilty 😭
Help please! Im trying my best to deal with my hormonal little demon- ive had her about a year, she found me, i rescued her from cats in my backyard- she was horribly clipped and no tail feathers! Shes fully flighted now, i was so proud and happy when she took her first successful flight around the room- and she was my best friend i spend all day with her- all of the sudden- cant ener the room without taking cover- but now its to attack. Literally viscious attacks- full on arial assault! She hates me and wants me to die. I cant do anything with her. She wont let me leave room, but wants me to stay so she can attack me again. What can i do to avoid giving her up? Its the last thing i want. Its super emotional as well as physically painful 😢
Im so sorry to hear that. I know how difficult it can be my quaker was just as bad during his puberty. Luckily its temporary aside from nesting season which is also now. Whether its puberty or nesting season (spring) These methods are what helped me tons. Managing Hormonal Behaviour in Your Bird ruclips.net/video/hOIkzp1gcJI/видео.html I know its emotionally and physically taxing, but please don’t give up they are having a hard time with all these hormonal changes too. They still love you i know they do, they’re just teenagers at the moment, basically. Please contact me or dm me if you need help with anything else im happy to work with you to help 🥺
Help! I've had 2 quakers for 1½yrs now. They don't let me hold or touch them like my sweet cockatiel used to. But my issue is my boy is sweet sometimes but he bites me to the point of drawing blood, yesterday he bite me when I was just handing him a nutriberry I still have a band aid on because it's still bleeding. I don't know how to remedy this. He is so aggressive, I will pull my hand away when he bites me and he will be holding on so hard that he comes with my hand when I pull it away. I love him but I can't take the constant biting. Everyone tells me to get rid of him but to me that's not an option, I love my babies I just don't want to be abused lol.
Quakers can be difficult especially because he is now in his teenager year making him more aggressive. Be patient with them there are so many hormonal changes, once they reach two years old they start to calm down and you can work on taming and gaining their trust. Do you experience any aggressiveness with Mango when she's playing around? On occasion, my Sun will sort of wrestle with my finger, and while he can get rough, it isn't ever to the point where he will attack. I mean, he CAN bite hard but its only when he is upset over something, not when playing around. I don't have any experience with Quakers but I get the impression they may have sharper (or maybe stronger) beaks than Sun Conures. I liked how you added in some examples along with your commentary!
The second I read that first sentence I knew it was the finger wrestling 😂 yes conures and sun conures play like that with each other, just play wrestling so with us its our fingers and yes they grab WAY to hard by accident 😅 it isnt cause they are overstimulated just the way they play and their beaks especially sun conures are larger and MUCH sharper and bite harder than a quaker.
