Quakers are definitely a grey area! They build amazing nests in the wild, so long as they aren't defending it for their life than it's a normal quakers behavior :)
Super agree on that. Mine dont get hormonal or territorial over it, just a fun game and sleeping place but I always say if they are getting hormonal or territorial then take it away
What do you buy? Mine is afraid of toys but pens, my phone case. Pretty much random stuff. He ignores his hanging toys in his cage. I wish he would like to play with wood. He likes to bite whole into shirts, towels. It's like sucking on it. I am not happy cause he could swallow fabric.
we buy things he can bite and mine iis scared of a moving chair and my dad and my brother and random stuff and he likes to eat of the ground and he bites me to but whatever that what birds do also he loves to watch Elmo idk why 🤣
Mango didn't want to come while you was calling but guess what, Hunter came to the computer monitor :D He really enjoyed this video and all the birds :) Plus, oh you have so much sun now ! I wasn't able to see sun in a month now :/
She loves to defy me on purpose 😂 And aww im glad you guys enjoyed the video ☺️ and yes we had video for that week I filmed but the skies are grey majority of the time during this season 😅
Thank you so much for accepting my request and that was so sweet😊 I wanted to ask if you keep pellets as their food in the cage or seeds? I use seeds with herbs, seasoning, dried fruits and vegetables, dried flowers and leaves and also sunflower seeds. My birds won't eat pellets at all and in our country we don't have good quality pellets, so yeah.
Of course :) sorry I wasnt able to cut the video down anymore i know it ended up kinda long 😅 and I only reserve seeds as treats. i keep pellets in their cage as it should make up majority of their diet. I have a video about helping switch over your bird to pellets if you want to check that out ruclips.net/video/9Suj5MlOEms/видео.html
@@mimisbirdhouse I actually watched the whole video without knowing it's time and I didn't realize the video was long LOL! I've already watched the video and tried it but I wasn't able to switch them from seeds to pellets and that's why I'm feeding them low fat seeds like chia seeds, hemp seeds, oats, flax seeds with herbs and dried flowers, leaves, fruits and vegetables and seasonings. They still get those commercial seeds mix as their snacks :) Thank you so much for responding to our comments and that's so kind😊
@@sherlyjones7636 another great way is nutriberries. I used them in the video but they contain 20% pellets and then a mix of vitamins nutrients fruits and seeds. Its a good way to get them accustom to the taste of pellets :) and I totally get how hard it can be to switch them over! the important thing is while you keep trying you are finding a way to make sure they are supplimented with every nutrient they need. If you can get them to eat fresh vegetables everymorning and mix in the prime powder that would be another great way
@@mimisbirdhouse Thank you so much! I'll definitely give them nutriberries :D Yeah they get chop everyday with different varieties of food too and of course fruits as healthy snacks! My birds actually love dates and apricots.
@@sherlyjones7636 if like like chop then crush up the pellets into a powder :) mix it in there and it gets them both used to the flavor and their nutrients in. you can also use a food chopper to turn it into powder
I highly recommend buying a ceramic heat emitter for your birds, make sure it isn't too close to them and use a lamp cage to prevent them from touching it. Ceramic heat emitters do not produce ANY light, I use them for my snake. They produce only heat. It would be beneficial if it gets really cold in your room/house in the winter. It's basically a space heater in the form of a light bulb. The heater and air conditioner do not work in my room so it gets freezing in my room in the winter. My desk is under my old loft bed which is now my cats bed, I hang the lamp above me and it keeps me warm too.
Ahh! Their biting really hurts mine also bite me some times😢 they are only 3 months old though. Btw beautiful birds❤ it was lovely to watch your videos🥰
@@mimisbirdhouse they have lots of toys but still prefer me for biting😅 btw i have que what should be their feeding schedule🤔 I give them veggies in morning then pellets and some seeds for lunch and some pellets, veggies, and fruit in dinner. Is it okay for them, it's been 2 weeks that they start eating properly......i am new parrot parent so i am worried about their health can u plz help me😇
@@Monart7487 if you are changing them from seeds to a healthy diet then sure seeds for lunch is good for some weeks until you can fully take them off seeds. Seeds are ideally treats. Its kind of like saying I had cake for lunch :) other than that im loving the feedign schedule 👌🏼
@@mimisbirdhouse yes i am reducing the amount of seeds slowely and increasing pellets so that they can get used to pellets, it is good right? And thank u so much for your reply cuz u r the first youtuber who actually reply back on my comment 🫂🥰 thank u so much 🤗
Not unless the cage is very large to house all 3 and especially they have to be 100% super bonded. One of my quakers tolerates my sun conure, they dont fight but they arnt super close so I would never cage them all together if that makes sense
I usednto have a sun conure named mango and he died I got another one and I don't want to replace my last sunconure so I named him phoenix and his nickname is onix
Sorry if this is rude to ask, but are you always home most of the day? Don't you need to go to school/work..? I just wonder if it's even possible for a person/family with normal working hours to take care of a parrot..
No not rude at all, I work from home. So yes I am home all day. Birds need to be out at least 8h of the day out of the cage so if someone is home majority of the day then yes but parrots if wanted to care for properly, fit very few lifestyles
@@mimisbirdhouse OK, that's what I thought. It just wasn't obvious from the video, which I enjoyed. Awful scary accident happened... almost happened to us last Sunday. Thanks G-d it ended up good. Still trembling inside. My White-winged parakeet girl Chica flew through the front door at such a speed I couldn't react and disappeared outside in the flush greens of my garden's kiwi and passion vines. I spent an hour cutting the plants in desperate hope of finding her. I called her and - thanks to all that advice to play birds sounds on a phone - played her past videos at the maximum volume. And at some moment I heard her! In the opposite direction, across the road in 300 feet from our house! She overheard my cell phone birds play and answered! I couldn't spot her at first but then noticed her on a small tree in the middle of my neighbor's lawn. And she patiently waited for me running to grab my orchard ladder, she didn't fly away when I put it beside the tree and allowed to grab her! I was going to put multiple curtains, screens, whatever near the front door but haven't done it yet. Recently I did install the magnetic screen outside our opposite deck door.
@@VladimirKelman oh my goodness thank the Lord she is okay!!!! That must have been so scary for the both of you! Yes the magnetic doors is good and just always having them in a seperate room while you open doors or have guests coming in and out. Glad to hear everything is alright 🫶🏼
Keeko is literally scared of ladders. I had a hanging one in his cage I had to remove. I have a small stiff one I leaned against his tree on the table. He did not go on his tree because of that ladder. How could I possibly make him claim it? I saw your 2 went up there really fast. I am kinda disappointed he doesn't. He learned a lot in the 7 months I have him. I just think he didn't have anything fun in his first 2 years.
Its dependant. My birds regulate their food themselves, they never overeat or undereat as they have tons to do during the day. I still bring them down for breakfast and lunch and they snack inbetween and before bed is dinner time.
@@mimisbirdhouse various pets. So far my cat now plays with the frenchies(2) we have had the birds a few months now and watching your videos explains sooooo much. I am working on changing routine and spending far more time with the birds and getting a play area outside of the cage or cage top. My cat is only curious when they are in the cage when they are out she runs away. Any suggestions I appreciate?
@@modernmysticlearning i personally would not risk having your cat and bird together, ontop of the risk of a cat being a natural predator to birds, even if they got along a cats saliva is toxic to birds and will kill your bird. If they ever are in the same room even inside the cage I would be consistently supervising them as you dont want your bird to possibly panic and hurt themselves inside their cage. Glad my videos are helping though :)
I saw here that you are only giving them pellets at dinner. I give mine veggie grainbake in the morning and dinner. Should I only give the bake in the morning rather?
@MimisBirdHouse the veggiegrain dries up so fast. I am not home all but my husband. He forgets to take it out. That's why I give him new for dinner. I see from you outside video that you live where it's green and more humidity. Here in AZ everything dries out. He doesn't like chop. Some veggies handfed. He loves corn and beans (white, red, pinto) which are in his bake. Yeah you are right I keep doing what I do. He looks healthy 😊😚
Should I break up the nutriberries? Mine doesn't know what to do with them. In his first yrs with his first owner he must not have been introduced to many good things.
@@susannemichelsen8879 id recommend getting a humidifier then :) It shouldny hit them directly just in general for the room and it should just be water nothing else :)
Hi quick questions I have 2 sun conures one is quite young and the other is a year and older,I wanna know if i should leave food overnight in the cage for them or not,and also is there a schedule to be feeding them. For my birds we have a food plate thingy in the cage and we leave it there all the time and they eat quite a lot of it,i think it’s probably wrong so I wanna ask you what I should do for them relating to their feeding and stuff. Also is caffeine quite bad for them cuz the older one always flies to me when I’m eating breakfast and drink my chai😅 I’m very worried for the other one we just bought her and she can’t balance on those and keeps slipping she doesn’t hav wings long enough yet and she keeps falling down, luckily I catch her everytime but is it a serious injury if she falls from the table to the ground,I say we give her back cuz our own sun conure which is a year just came a month ago and my family doesn’t know anything about birds so it’s better for her if we give her back but will it damage the healthy one in any way? I know this is a lot but I rlly can’t find anyone else to answer these so I rlly hope you can

@@mimisbirdhouse thanks, the other we just bought a few days ago she’s very young so I understand y she can’t walk or fly properly, she’s around 4 to 6 months that’s what the previous owner said, she would follow whatever the older one does she would also go wherever he goes and copies him a lot and it’s cute, the only problem is she can’t balance well and should they be able to fly at such a young age?when we bought her we didn’t cut her wings off they were already pretty short, she’s only scared of ppl approaching but not items and eats a lot
@@Murder.Muffin she's a lot better and we've found out she could fly so well some time ago,we realized that becuz the bird shop owner where we bough her from kept her in a very small cage and didn't give her any chances to even walk around much or fly at all that's y she kept falling down when we first bought her Surprisingly she can fly very well and very fast and now she's always climbing around her cage and very happy and outgoing and eats everything, she just has severe biting problem where she bites SO MUCH without realizing it hurts me or others but she's cute so I'll allow it

Love your videos it's my new favorite 😍 channel ❤ I have a lot a lot of budgies in my house so I'm a bird lover my self too ❤❤❤
Awww thank you that means a lot 🥹🥰
Say hi to all your budgies for me they must be adorable! 🫶🏼
Can you please make a video on how you made the bird stand in the middle of the room..... I would really appreciate if you do some diys videos as well
Hello I have a video on it here;

Mango didn't want to come while you was calling but guess what, Hunter came to the computer monitor :D He really enjoyed this video and all the birds :)
Plus, oh you have so much sun now ! I wasn't able to see sun in a month now :/
And new information I learned. So I can give Hunter a walnut ! I have tons of them because I have huge, and I mean huge walnut tree in my garden :)
She loves to defy me on purpose 😂 And aww im glad you guys enjoyed the video ☺️ and yes we had video for that week I filmed but the skies are grey majority of the time during this season 😅
@@Nika44 thats okay! Happens a lot to me too
Thank you so much for accepting my request and that was so sweet😊 I wanted to ask if you keep pellets as their food in the cage or seeds? I use seeds with herbs, seasoning, dried fruits and vegetables, dried flowers and leaves and also sunflower seeds. My birds won't eat pellets at all and in our country we don't have good quality pellets, so yeah.
Of course :) sorry I wasnt able to cut the video down anymore i know it ended up kinda long 😅 and I only reserve seeds as treats. i keep pellets in their cage as it should make up majority of their diet. I have a video about helping switch over your bird to pellets if you want to check that out
ruclips.net/video/9Suj5MlOEms/видео.html
Thank you for the recommendation ☺️ my room is warm in the winter as I have a control panel for temperature for my room ☺️
My quaker tico is 18 months old he won't eat any veggies or fruit only eats the white of the eggs. And he has his toys but he is so naughty .
Ahh! Their biting really hurts mine also bite me some times😢 they are only 3 months old though. Btw beautiful birds❤ it was lovely to watch your videos🥰
Thank you 🥰 aww babies are always looking for something to bite 😂 get them cardboard or kabob toys with soft wood ☺️ helps a lot
@@mimisbirdhouse they have lots of toys but still prefer me for biting😅 btw i have que what should be their feeding schedule🤔
I give them veggies in morning then pellets and some seeds for lunch and some pellets, veggies, and fruit in dinner.
And thank u so much for your reply cuz u r the first youtuber who actually reply back on my comment 🫂🥰 thank u so much 🤗

what age did you get the quakers? i love them im getting mine soon
I got Kiwi when he was 4 months old and I got Luza when shr was 4 years old :)
Do you freeze the chop so it can last you a whole month? Beautiful flock by the way
Thank you ☺️ and yes I do ☺️
Can 3 birds be in one cage?
Nice video!
Not unless the cage is very large to house all 3 and especially they have to be 100% super bonded. One of my quakers tolerates my sun conure, they dont fight but they arnt super close so I would never cage them all together if that makes sense
Ever sun conure: mango
Cause they grow from mango tree’s until they are ripe for the picking
@@mimisbirdhouse lol
I usednto have a sun conure named mango and he died I got another one and I don't want to replace my last sunconure so I named him phoenix and his nickname is onix
When you go out do you take them also with you?
No I dont 😅 i wanna harness train them so i can
Great video! I want to get an indian ringneck parrot. What age you recommend to get them? Thank you and Blessings from Texas. 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻
Any age as long as they are fully weaned off formula and onto solids. Adoption is great if available ☺️
@@mimisbirdhouse thank you Mimi. Dios Te Bendiga. 🙏🏻😇🙏🏻
Can mango get a friend of her kind?
Sorry if this is rude to ask, but are you always home most of the day? Don't you need to go to school/work..? I just wonder if it's even possible for a person/family with normal working hours to take care of a parrot..
No not rude at all, I work from home. So yes I am home all day. Birds need to be out at least 8h of the day out of the cage so if someone is home majority of the day then yes but parrots if wanted to care for properly, fit very few lifestyles
How do you handle the "pup" when you let them like in bed, kitchen, and sofa everywhere. Please answer.....!!!!

How I Deal With Bird Poop EVERYWHERE!
ruclips.net/video/9tW4FSITUj8/видео.html
Aren't you afraid to open the balcony door when birds are nearby? They could fly outside in a second.
We never open the balcony or any doors for that matter unless they are securely inside a room :)
I have a monk parakeet/qweker parrot i only have one but i love him i want to ask how do you tell luka and kiui apart ?😅😅😅
Kiwi was smaller and more of a like green, he also didnt bob his head and their mannerisms were different ☺️
Maybe this video can help :) ;

So are birds supposed to be on a feeding schedule or do you leave food in their cages all day for them to get to day or night?
Its dependant. My birds regulate their food themselves, they never overeat or undereat as they have tons to do during the day. I still bring them down for breakfast and lunch and they snack inbetween and before bed is dinner time.
Also do you have recommendations for introducing or cohabitation for multiple pets?
Multiple birds or multiple various pets?
What is the name of the cereal you gave them? My Quaker’s won’t eat any veggies or fruit .
I have a video on how to introduce that
ruclips.net/video/KhSPe6dh2so/видео.html
My quaker is a cookie monster. I also would like the name of that cereal for a treat here and there, please.
☺
I saw here that you are only giving them pellets at dinner. I give mine veggie grainbake in the morning and dinner. Should I only give the bake in the morning rather?
I give them pellets, veggies, fruits and walnuts and leave it out the whole day. But you can definitely split it up and do what you’re doing ☺️
@@susannemichelsen8879 yes you can break them up and crumble them if its easier for them to eat :)

Can you put your ingredients, for your chop recipe to be seen.🙂

Hi quick questions I have 2 sun conures one is quite young and the other is a year and older,I wanna know if i should leave food overnight in the cage for them or not,and also is there a schedule to be feeding them.
For my birds we have a food plate thingy in the cage and we leave it there all the time and they eat quite a lot of it,i think it’s probably wrong so I wanna ask you what I should do for them relating to their feeding and stuff.
Also is caffeine quite bad for them cuz the older one always flies to me when I’m eating breakfast and drink my chai😅
I’m very worried for the other one we just bought her and she can’t balance on those and keeps slipping she doesn’t hav wings long enough yet and she keeps falling down, luckily I catch her everytime but is it a serious injury if she falls from the table to the ground,I say we give her back cuz our own sun conure which is a year just came a month ago and my family doesn’t know anything about birds so it’s better for her if we give her back but will it damage the healthy one in any way?
I know this is a lot but I rlly can’t find anyone else to answer these so I rlly hope you can
Hi so i would not leave food overnight, they dont eat at night and the food would just spoil, id follow the chop recipe i put out as well as natural pellets, walnuts and of course water.
Please avoid caffeine. If you need to have breakfast in a separate room please do.
Can I ask how old is the other one before making a comment ☺️?
@@mimisbirdhouse thanks, the other we just bought a few days ago she’s very young so I understand y she can’t walk or fly properly, she’s around 4 to 6 months that’s what the previous owner said, she would follow whatever the older one does she would also go wherever he goes and copies him a lot and it’s cute, the only problem is she can’t balance well and should they be able to fly at such a young age?when we bought her we didn’t cut her wings off they were already pretty short, she’s only scared of ppl approaching but not items and eats a lot
😔 poor little baby bird. I hope it's better now if you kept it.
@@Murder.Muffin she's a lot better and we've found out she could fly so well some time ago,we realized that becuz the bird shop owner where we bough her from kept her in a very small cage and didn't give her any chances to even walk around much or fly at all that's y she kept falling down when we first bought her
Surprisingly she can fly very well and very fast and now she's always climbing around her cage and very happy and outgoing and eats everything, she just has severe biting problem where she bites SO MUCH without realizing it hurts me or others but she's cute so I'll allow it

Question is it ok to let a Quaker bath itself in a big bowl/plate with water ?
Yes you should be letting them do it themselves and make sure the bowl is shallow so the water isnt past their legs

…Do you know birds don’t have taste buds?
Actually they do, just significantly less than humans. What they dont have is receptors for spicy things :)
Not for me, birds belong in their natural habitat, they are like in prison in the wild they live in the amazon jungles and fly and sure u probably give them better food and try to give them better life but its way too much work nad they trash the whole palce
I fully agree birds shouldnt be captive. Sadly the one’s who are captive are kinda stuck there as they wouldnt survive being wild. But thats why I adopt and not support breeders because i hope one day breeding will end and all birds will be in the wild
Im looking forward to getting either an indian ringnecked, quacker, or a conure and i have experience with birds and know how to care for them perfectly, do u have any advice on wich one i should get or just advice if u dont have experience on ringneckes. Aww thank you so much 🥹🥹🥹
Here would be my breakdown of each bird
Conure: LOUD! Cuddly, friendly but SASSY! Very destructive, very bonded to one person, clingy
Quaker: chatty, mean, will bite for fun (not hard to bleed), troublemaker, prankster, makes you laugh and cry, SUPER CLINGY AND POSSESSIVE
Indian ringneck: Cute, chatty, loves their kisses, but not as cuddly, usually doing their own thing, very peculiar birds in a good way, and generally very nice and well behaved
