My mac is macOS Sonoma ver.14 and I could not find the EOS utility v3 software on the Canon USA website to download. Does it mean the EOS utility does not support macOS v14?
I guess you spend lot of time doing this video, which in 5 min I learned the way to transfer my Movies and photos to my Mac from Canon R5, Saying thank you is not enough. THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!
My camera is connected to the Mac via wifi, but I open the EOS utility and nothing happens. All buttons on the app menu is unavaiable to click. It looks like utility is not recognizing the camera. Firmware v1.5.2 the R5 still drops wifi connection after transferring only 4 images, every single time. Honestly, for $4,000 you'd expect it to work. I'm feeling ripped off right now.

Hi, Jeff! We recommend checking out the EOS Remote and the Canon Camera Connect apps, both available for free from the App Store. Together, you can remotely control your camera and transfer your images from your iPad to other devices. Hope this helps!
What if all I want to do is view the images as I shoot on my Mac? Don't want them saved to the Mac, I just want to see/show on my Mac the image just shot?

Hi, Heigy! The application is still called EOS Utility, and we have it available for current and recent versions of macOS, including Big Sur, Catalina, Mojave, and High Sierra. Our software is listed in chronological order by default, so it may not appear in exactly the same place in the list as it does in the video. You can alphabetize the list by clicking the arrows to the right of the "File Name" heading and that can make it easier to find EOS Utility. You'll find everything you need at canon.us/cwqsn Hope this helps!
Here is an issue with my rp.. When i turn on WiFi function, The camera become hang and automatically restarting.. How to solve this issue?I have reseted all camera setting.
Hi! You'll want to run that by our US-based EOS support squad. They can troubleshoot your set up and figure out a solution. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). Hope to help you soon!
How can I download the 8K RAW video to my Mac via USB-C or WiFi (I don't have a CFExpress reader)? I can save the regular video (and images) using Mac's native Photos or Image Capture apps, but 8K RAW videos don't show up in the Photos app, and Image Capture shows them in the list but produces an error when I try to import them. Thanks!
Hi, Andrew! Our EOS support team will be happy to find the best solution for you. They're available weekdays and Saturdays at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). Hope to talk to you soon!
Hi, Craig! You've always got the option to use a USB cable with your EOS R5. To take full advantage of what your camera and your Mac can do together, you'll want to make sure you've got the right driver and software installed. Download everything you need at canon.us/k3556 Hope this helps!
@@CanonUSASupport Thank you, I’ve been a usb wired live view user for several years using my 6D and a MacBook Pro. Unfortunately a client tripped on the tripod on a photo shoot and it landed on the USB connector at the junction to the camera. No visual signs of damage, but the USB would no longer connect. While waiting for the next big upgrade I resorted to wireless. With wireless connection, there’s no manual focus option which we needed in low light (at least with the 6D). I’m sure the R5 with it’s fast focus and image processor the need for manual focus wont be needed to speed up a capture in low light. Any news on iPad wired integration? I was hoping the R5 with USB 3 we’ll get iPad Pro wired support using faster USB 3. Another question related, will the M1 with USB3/Thunderbolt support have a camera to Mac advantage? I’m wondering if we should upgrade our Mac to M1, or if iPad Pro if eventually be supported (wired) would be an ultimate capture setup.
Hi, Jimmy! We recommend giving our EOS support team a call. They can figure out what's going on with your connection and how to make it more reliable. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). We look forward to your call!
@@cameriqueTV Thanks for the clarification. The EOS R5 came out in 2020 and we offered software and drivers for the most current operating systems at that time which included macOS Catalina v10.15. As Mac OS X Mavericks v10.9 came out six versions and seven years prior in 2013, support for that version of macOS will be limited. We recommend upgrading your operating system if your hardware can support it; alternately, if you're simply looking to transfer photos and videos to your computer, can use an A-to-C USB data cable or a memory card reader. Glad we could help!
@@CanonUSASupport trust me i did that already. It just doesn’t work . When utility 3 opens shooting modes are grayed out and i cannot select any option. I can see my camera is connected with wifi on computer but cant use it.
Thanks for giving it a try, Siddhartha! We recommend giving our EOS support team a call at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666). They might know a way to get things running the way you need them to work. You can reach them at that number weekdays and Saturdays. Hope to talk to you soon!
@@siddharthadhital5593 same is happening to me. The butons are displayed grey, unavaiable. It looks like it doesnt works on IOS Ventura. Its a shame. Cannot connect wireless my R5 to my mac studio. We spent a lot of money and they dont update their apps. Bad news!

The constant loud clicking is extremely annoying. We don’t need a loud audio notification every time the woman supposedly clicks her mouse or trackpad. Also this is a huge waste of time as this wireless connection only transfers images. What about tethering the camera to shoot images?
Hi! While your computer requires a USB cable to shoot remotely, you can control your camera wirelessly through a smartphone or tablet using the Canon Camera Connect app which also lets you transfer images to your computer. Look for it in the App Store or Google Play. Hope this helps!

Think I’ll spare myself the agony of manually creating, joining, and disconnecting from ad-hoc networks and just use a wire.
Agreed. I connected via my normal WiFi network... and it saw, & then talked to my Mac just fine . But, yes, wired connections are more solid.
