This is what you call a good informative video and to the point. A lot of videos have 2 minutes of long monologue before the actual useful information starts. Great video with crisp presentation. Thanks a ton.
Well I did enjoy this because I now understand the sequence of the steps to be done for wireless tethering, and also because you explained it clearly and concisely. Thank you.
How would this work for streaming? If my laptop is connected to the camera wifi...then how would I be able to stream to my RUclips channel at the same time?
I want to connect my EOS R to android tablet S8 ultra ; to use it as a monitor for my cam . how can I get the best quality 4k results?? And do u recommend a specific Vedio capture card ???
Just know that for whatever reason Canon decided to do something completely different with the R8. These instructions mostly do not apply for the R8. The camera menus are very different. The only success I had was joining over my wifi network. I could not connect directly from camera to PC. With the network connection, the EOS utility would work/connect for a minute but then close itself/crash with no explanation. Next I plan to try a cable. It's unfortunate and frustrating. Not sure why they made the R8 so different than others. I just want to show my clients the shots on a screen so they can verify color accuracy.... like tethering. I'd prefer to use the wifi and bluetooth options.. I mean it has them... just really odd.
@@NamasteJiOficial I now have the same problem on an R10. I contacted Canon support and they asked me to download the latest version.. I did... and it worked! Once. Now it's back to normal. My R6 works flawlessly, though. The issue seems worse on the R10 than the R8.
@@mcmillanvideos Hi there , i just tried again and instead pf advanced connection I just went to tablet connection (this time) and it worked. It connected and didn't crash. I hope it wasnt just luck. Thanks for your feedbacl as well, its great to have support from others
I had a quick look into this for you and it seems that the 2000d may not support wireless connectivity to a computer. You can connect to the EOS app on iOS or Android though. If you want to tether on a computer you can use a usb cable and use the canon Utility App.
I have the same problem but with Canon 4000D, there is n pc icon only camera, smartphone and printer's icons. anyone has soved this? & thanks for the guide
Hi. I got an EOS 750D but in wifi settings i couldn't find any option to connect to EOS UTILITY option. Can you please explain, do i need to update the firmware?
I am not 100% sure but I found a few threads about the 750D that say even though it has wifi it can not connect to a computer via WIFI. So perhaps the WIFI on this model can only be used with the iOs or Android app? Not really sure though.
Yes you can choose to connect with bluetooth, it then asks you to switch over to WIFI as it is faster. Keep in mind it is wifi between the two devices so you it doesn't need to connect to your WIFI router.
It works good, but it makes an ap hotspot and the laptop connects to the camera, so NO more internet to the laptop. is there a way so the CAMERA connect to my wifi?
Yes, you'll see at 1:25 at the bottom right there's a "switch network" button, there you can select a WiFi network and as long as the camera and laptop are on the same network they *should* find one another, some higher-security WiFi networks may block this if they have a feature called client isolation active.
It is pretty instant, about 1 second for JPG. Raw images can take 5-6 seconds which is why I demonstrate the option at 4.02 in the video. "Computer and memory Card/ In Raw and Jpeg Mode only transfer Jpegs to the computer".
The add on transmitter for the Canon DS1 mkiii worked once for me. Camera/laptop first time BUT only time. Wouldn't work after that, and since found out that is common. Waste of money.
It should also work with the R6. Could be a number of reasons. Sometimes you need to check the Canon Utility software is up to date and sometimes it might be necessary to upgrade the camera firmware.
@@Touchtechnologyreview Just tried it on Win10 with R (latest firmware) and latest Utility version. Simply wouldn't connect. Showing the process, but no result. The problem may be in Windows Defender, security permissions or something... Just assuming. Not a specialist. Earlier I successfully did it with 200D and 80D (so surprised latest gear still has issues), but most times it took efforts, numerous resets, etc... Unlike on mobile, where everything works flawlessly.

Wireless tethering will only support HD video so for 4k you are right you would need to use a HDMI Interface. Elgato make quite a few so perhaps check them out. I haven't had any experience with 4k capture cards as I tend to do it with the usb calbe on my Mac or windows computer or go wireless as in this video. However I am not 100% sure what hardware connection works best on the S8.
@Touchtechnologyreview Thanks for your reply ⚘️⚘️ Guermok Video Capture Card, USB3.0 HDMI to USB C Capture Card, 4K Full 1080P60FPS Capture Device ☝️☝️☝️ That's the capture card I got , and it's working perfect for vedio. Although I got another point . I want the cam screen to be mirrored on the tablet or any other Big LCD screen .. I succeed to do that in vedio mode , but not during photo mode As only the connected device screen work , but the cam screen is off .. can u help me with that please ??
I think you can do it. When you use the Canon Utility App the way I show you it saves the photos to a folder. You can go in to Lightroom /File/ Auto Import/ Auto Import Settings and set the watch folder to the same as the Canon App and it should work. I haven't tested but feel free to try and let us know how you go.

Great to hear that! Thanks for checking out the video and enjoy the wireless experience.
Great video. Perfectly paced and every bit of info needed, with no steps left out or hurried through. Thanks! 😃

Thanks to your explanations I got it working immediately ! I tried unsuccesfully other tutorials before!
This is not for the Canon EOS Rebel T7 I have that exact camera and those options are not available.
Thanks for this vid. But my Canon EOS 750D isn't listed on that page. What should I do?
Thank you for the lecture. Very straightforward. I promise to try it out.
Thank you very informative. Is it possible to get screenshots of the camera screen on the computer?

This method can show images on the computer to tv like in the studio?
Yes you can view photos and even video form the camera on your computer.
Can i connect via Bluetooth instead?

does this work for a rebel t6?
I don't think the T6 supports wireless connection in this way.Possibly only via cable.
Many thanks..

can you register an ipad
Yes you can. select the first icon shown at 1:03. Also make sure you download the Canon Camera Connect App.
You do need to pay for the subscription to be able to use it it looks like.... I wonder if it's not just cheaper to get the tether cable..
The Canon Camera Connect App is free to use.
Your instructions aren't even close for my R6 MkII please update.
