Hi Maya, Just wanted to let you know that your recipes are so so so amazing. Eventhough I am not vegan, I enjoy your recipes so much and try them out regularly. Your chickpea quesadilla is my all-time favourite❤️❤️❤️
I bet oyster mushrooms are one of them. My mom will coat them with batter and deep fry them. It's soooo goood. The texture kinda looks like chicken. The mushroom has no taste so all the taste comes from the batter.
I made this and it was very easy, just a few minutes to toss everything into the food processor. It turned out sooooo well. The texture is amazing although - it does not taste like chicken. But it’s a great alternative for eating less meat. Tried it in wraps, quesadillas, deep fried with a curry dip. It works well with any kind of dip and does not get dry if fried. It lasted 6 days in the fridge. Highly recommend it.

Honestly us Jamaicans use jack fruit, bread fruit, sugar cane, coconut milk, yam, ackee if you want to be a vegan.
THIS IS SO COOL. i’m not vegan, but this recipe is honestly incredible!! i didn’t know you could do this!!
We eat it here in India it's a common thing here it's called soya chunks and we eat it a lot and we have it dried out here
Soya chunks would be made from...soya? This is made from chickpea.
@@kaisahl I know but we use this recipes there's not only soya chunks we also call it as meal makers but I know this recipe from india
But I like this recipe very much
This would be gatte ki sabzi
@@aakankshasarraju7452literally no thats something different
I feel like the synthetic chicken flavouring would be perfect for this
In india it's called chaamp. It comes in various savoury flavours u should try that too❤
Didi ko gatte ki sbji bnani h asa lgra h😂
Maybe in hindi... not in india as a whole😂
@@anumayashinwong24doesn't even make sense what are you on
As an Indian I've never seen or heard of such a thing 🙂
Could you please give a few recipes on how to use it
Your gap is really cute on you :)
I don't know how similar that tastes to chicken but it actually looks really damn delicious
I love how you alway have the recipe at the top of the comments! Thanks
Ah yes seitan! Delicious. Nice texture!
Cuando dijo lo de la salchicha larga sonrió 😂
do u need to fry it afterwards? Or it's all done after boiling?
bro i was just eating fried rice with the soya chuncks which maaa favvvv,,they are popular here in India ,,,,and guess my mom used to trick my sister by saying its chicken as she can't eat chicken and she still think its real chicken......
Oops. My mouth is sweating. 🤤 I have to try this asap
You're right, eating clean and healthy is expensive. This is a great alternative recipe for chicken! My go-to when I'm missing chicken is jackfruit
Will have to try. Made Mock Chicken with VWG and was much too rubbery to me. Am thinking the garbanzos may fix this😉
Would love some gluten free options!
Jack fruit?
maybe guar gum instead of the vital wheat gluten? im not sure how well it would work though :(
Try Indian dosa
I'm gluten free and a good high protein alternative that tastes just like chicken is.... chicken!
When you open a restaurant I'll be your first and best customer. Good luck with your dreams.
You're vegan just eat the vegetables and stop referring to them as meat
Oh sorry let me just call it a " vegan blended and boiled mixture of chickpeas, flour, wheat, soy sauce and mustard, which is formed into a dough and resembles chicken"
Why tho?
@@InkedAlicewhy not naming it like vegan style. For example chickpeas.
She literally called it non chicken... Why do so many people have non beef with vegans
Don't be so daft. And clean the wax out of your ears while you're at it. She literally called it "vegan chicken". Listen next time.Smdh
Chick pea + protein powder are more expensive than chicken meat😅
Garlic anything is never optional!
😂 🤤
Better than chicken. Fried these up and tossed with a spicy peanut chilli sauce 🔥🌶 So good!
😂😂, Did you grow up in Uganda..? You soo poor that you never had chicken before..😂. Get the heck Outta here man.. "This is better than chicken" BS.
Amazing! ❤🌠
Dude this is insanee
I’ll definitely try this with some curry or just on it’s own to try! Thank you so much!
yesss! I love this
Wow! So cool! Why the knot? Just curious
If you're vegan why do you want to eat chicken??
Most vegans aren’t vegan because they don’t like meat, but for ethical or dietary reasons. So they might still like meat, but be unable to eat it.
Is there a way to make this without any wheat or gluten? I'm allergic to both, but every homemade vegan chicken recipe I've seen uses one or the other.
I really recommend trying Yuba ("tofu skin"), especially the ones that are in chicken style shape. It has a very similar texture to chicken and its made out of soy.
Another option is to maybe use neutral pea protein powder in recipes like this instead of the gluten
Gluten is really esential in this recipe. It will not work out without it.
Eat chicken instead chickening.
Just eat chicken. Veganism is the worst thing you can do for your health. Please don’t be fooled watching this girl.
Girl you need to write your own cookbook
She already has!
Let's do it Alexandria style
I mean it looks incredible. But does it taste like chicken?
The garlic powder shouldnt be optional, its obligated!
It is so good that you help people eat healthy meat subsitutes that are not highly processed foods you buy in the supermarket!
try out jackfruit! they have a meat texture when cooked right, and is very nutritious!
there's not as much protein, so some people don't even bother cooking it.
@@KoraWade just eat chicken

@@Ali_art no.
Hell no! Jackfruit is not meat textured, either you have not had the real deal or there is some problem with the Jackfruit y'all are eating.
I really want to try this but gluten hasnt been my friend lately 🥲
honestly the best vegan meat option I’ve seen. No soy, not lab grown, simple ingredients simple cooking process.
I’m not a vegetarian, BUT gonna definitely try this recipe! 😮
