  • This is the rebuild kit I used in the video:

In this video my brothers and I go through the process of rebuilding an aluminum powerglide for my brothers 1966 Caprice Coupe. He will be converting this care from a three speed on the column to a automatic in the floor. This is one of the first steps in the process of doing that. I rebuilt the powerglide that is in my 1965 Impala SS. This was the second time for me rebuilding a powerglide. It took us about 14 hours to complete the rebuild. The video is really detailed up to the point of final assembly, and then we got so tired that we just wanted to finish. It was 2 in the morning, and our only opportunity to work on it together. I hope this helps somebody on thier project.

I’m glad to have helped. We just recently put it in the car and it worked well.

did one of these in the mid 80's with a buddy and his 68 Camaro. These are the best beginner build trannies. Picked up one for my '57 and was looking for video's to refresh my memory. Good hands on video, if you have the ability to edit maybe cut a lot of the unscrewing bolts, fidgeting with seals and steels, and only have one set of hands at a time in the cookie jar.
Subscribed to follow the progress, looks interesting!
