What about the homeless that block the sidewalks and streets.
That’s not how socialism works.
They got no money
Or when the tree on sidewalk outside your house need maintenance they need u to fix it😅 and the no fault graffiti.
Btw They never hire ppl who apply for the parking maid job for the last 8 yrs lol
you would need a law on that.. They can't cite people
Basically, they need more money.
It’s just a shakedown of SF residents.
San Francisco is one of the densest cities in the entire country, only rivaling New York and Chicago. Any move to remove cars and make it safe for pedestrians is going to be a welcome change.
woke voters of the city deserve the kinda people they elected to represet them. another fleecing scheme of the toursits by the woke leadersof the city . shameful.
@@Awesome_Aasim Dumb reply. Why don’t look both way and cross on green.
@@pipehitter114 This story is about traffic enforcement ticketing motor vehicles parking dangerously on the sidewalk. There are many problems with street parking in general, including obstructed traffic for public transport (and drivers), reduced visibility for drivers, less room for pedestrians, more points of conflict for cyclists, and more; which is the exact reason why a lot of cities have moved to remove street parking. Removing street parking also removes a lot of traffic caused by induced demand; if there is nowhere for someone to park their car on street, they will either find a parking spot in a garage or park and ride elsewhere. Also, only jerks would really try to park on the sidewalk; sidewalk is for pedestrians, pavement is for motorized and nonmotorized vehicles and sometimes pedestrians, and it has been this way even in the day of the horse.
@@pipehitter114facts! The amount of pedestrians that just walk into traffic expecting people to stop when it’s not their turn. They’re always staring at their phones when crossing the street, wearing headphones, just not a damn care in the world.
I'm so sick of San Francisco's administration.
Vote them out
And when addicts are camping out, the city does nothing
Cracking down on parking but you can drive like a maniac with no license plate while doing Fentanyl on city streets.
Really got their priorities backwards........in the meantime car break-ins are at an all time high.
and this guy gets paid $400K and benefits for coming up ways to take money from people.. 🙄
The sidewalks need to be clear of homeless people and camps so that people can walk safely on them as well. San Francisco should spend its resources on cleaning the streets up.
What are they doing with all the taxes we pay somebody stole it
CRIME CRIME CRIME!!!
Indirect taxes
This is a sign of a declining civilisation
& will they make sure sidewalks are clear of tents, personal property & trash, feces, needles, drug dealers & users, & homeless encampments?
Of course not! They are targeting drivers b/c they think they can squeeze money out of them.
More failed policy.
But you can't do anything about car break-ins and stolen cars that end up being used to commit crimes. OK, sounds like you guys have a plan.
Cool so they can enforce parking like nobody's business but dont do anything about car break ins.
In other words, a revenue generator for the city they want to maximize.
We have been getting a lot of rideshare cars camped at our bus stops. This makes the buses double park to pick up / drop off passengers, and that causes other cars and buses to go around them into oncoming traffic.
How about some tickets for the bridge violators?
am supposed to feel safer from this?
there are no spaces tho!!! you have people getting home at 10 pm and where can they find parking at 10 pm??? the city needs to step up and provide parking or somehow reduce # of automobiles in the city. This is a city problem, not the individuals trying to find parking after work!
Sidewalks are mostly occupied by who?
Do you ask the zombies on fentanyl that block and sleep and do drugs on the sidewalk any tickets? just asking for a fellow tax payer. Oh is this just for cars? More reasons just not to spend a penny in the toilet bowl of a city.
When I lived in Santa Barbara, the meter maids had a quota of $3,000 a day.
Another great use of tax payer's money to generate more revenue.
Tax, tax, tax
Oooohhhhh! PARKING crackdown. You liberals done lost your minds.
NOTE how the official snuck in there: "Parking too close to the corner."
This is a recent CA law that most people don't know about. It is now illegal in the whole state to park within 20ft. of a crosswalk, marked or unmarked. The corner does not need paint.
This is a cash grab under the guise of safety. How many lives will be saved? How much money will be raised?
The problem is that there IS NO reasonable amount of parking. I have a hard time believing the Mayor's Office of Disability supports forcing people to take mass transit.
Just a Money Grab….
What about the tents on the side walk ?
Parking to close to the corner. How about the parklets right up against the corner like the one at Union and Stockton Sts. It’s in front of Tony’s Pizza on Union St side. Pedestrian Safety Right?
Parking is a crime. Theft and stealing cars and blocking bridges is not
Business has slowed down in the City after big tech left. They need to generate revenue the old fashioned way.
meaning = we are DESPERATE for money. Cities that include parking fines into their budget are being extremely unethical. Also a war on cars. SFMTA has absolutely no interested in aiding anything that supports cars.
Here is a better solution: get rid of on street parking and require proof of off street parking spaces in order to register your vehicle in San Francisco. They already do this in Japan. Parking takes up a lot of public space, they impede traffic, and they make it dangerous for pedestrians. The few cases where one needs to park on the street, such as loading and unloading, or disabled parking, can be carved out as exemptions. The city was never designed for cars, it was always designed for trams (streetcars) and cable cars.
Can people sleep on the sidewalk?
wonderful.. not only you have to worry about your windows getting smashed you have to worried about these maids robbing you too
Bike lane blockers! Today I saw a uber eats car violently drive OVER the bollars that block cars from the bike lane on Valencia. He just instead if driving ahead did an illegal uturn right outside the restaurant he was picking food from amd drove OVER the bollards twice, suddenly forcing his car onto the bike lane.
they never say this about crime but daggummit!! don't get caught parking funky....It could be your life!! lol
Sfmta should just use the staff resources to enforce muni bus fares while on buses. They would get more money per hour of paid instead of evaded fares and it would make the buses safer for everyone. And muni is under sfmta.
Ive been on a 38 bus late night where a smelly person stumbled onto the bus, pulled down his pants, and pooped on the seat he was sitting on. Everyone on the bus scrambled to get off on the next stop. It was ridiculous, disgusting, and unsafe!
Maybe they should crack down on violent crime and property crime?
Worried about parking… I’m tired!!
The city is punishing its own citizen. They would not punished the people coming from other states and do RV homes
Get the money!
Block a sidewalk with a car you get a ticket. Block a sidewalk with a tent and free shots of booze. Elections have consequences so enjoy what you voted for SF 😂😂😂.
It's either this or they're going to raise your taxes... This is how they generate revenue.
I hope they can manage this better than the van ness brt construction and the leaking central subway 😂😂😂😂😂
City needs money 😅
They’ll do anything other than crack down on actual criminals 😂😂😂😂
I left SF because of meter maids long before crime and filth.
Just another tax increase. I bet they’re drooling at all the potential revenue.
Resources for something else???!!!! Is she sane? How about resources for this ANDZ that .. the city has it, this is not some third world country. Let the city ENFORCE it because they can and if there's something else to be addressed there's money for that too.
But it's ok to block the bridges and do donuts all night shutting down intersections
crack down on the real crime 😂
Aka Jeff Tunlin is looking for a money grab. Nothing about safety. I never see SFMTA ever ticket double parked vehicles that block traffic, yet they always get a free pass.
SF is losing money
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Gotta pay for that Police Salary Increase somehow!💯
no benefits going to SF
Sure, another way to make a quick buck.
Can they still 💩 on the sidewalks
What about crime crackdown, or robbery crackdown. Squeezing taxpayer a lil moore
FOS
because this is the biggest problem SF has.... lol
Wow
San Francisco just want to get as much money from innocent on all different ways
Looking to generate more money for this broke ass city 🤭
great way to generate revenue , over all things are getting better , keep Voting Blue , #Biden/Harris/Newsom
Yay, more socialism!!!!
WHAT ABOUT ALL THE THOUSANDS OF MOTORHOMES WITH DRUG DEALS AND SHIT???
Bull Shit.. it’s all about loss of revenue because businesses are or have left the City and County.. The City and County are cash starved and now
They are enforcing this rule.. it’s the law, but it’s a a bit more idiotic than you might think.. Robb ESQ
But if your car gets broken into it’s ok they will still ticket you welcome to Sf
First not the worst 😂
