My rules were a little different than yours; I went with the Average Joe difficulty and farmed one-ups with the money trick but pretty much nothing else. It took a pretty long while, so I'm super impressed you managed to do it without farming lives _and_ on the hardest difficulty!! kudos!! :D
I really appreciate the making-out-with-knives meta.
We are ever so slowly approaching the point where gamechamp’s patreon shoutouts will be as long as the video itself, if not longer
"after about an hour straight of mindless maths" ah so the gigadeon boss battle is a school exam
Love this game and wish it got more hype. The animations and music are both so lovingly made.
After this challenge, I think GameChamp really loves the animation of Kim and Knives making out
I feel like it did get quite a bit of hype
I mean
It's the only thing in the entire franchise(?) That I've ever cared to interact with
@@samt3412 I can't speak for her, but I sure fucking do.
If I had a Canadian dollar for everytime I see a female NPC with her tits bouncing up and down in this game I would have enough money to buy all of the stat boost items
As someone who has played the games/read the books/seen the movie I have to say, Scott Pilgrim is a great series. Playing the game really makes you smile at all the references to the books and the movie is just SO good.
Enemies: "NOOOOOO YOU CAN'T JUST STAND IN ONE SPOT AND SLAP US ENDLESSLY!! WE WANT A FAIR FIGHT!!!!"
Kim: *haha slapping go brrrr*
If you need stat boosts to impress your girlfriend, does she even like you for you?
Stat boosts are life lessons that make you a better human being according to GameChamp
Two things i love: Gamechamp videos, and Scott Pilgrim.
Hell yeah!
Edit: … that last line alone makes this video perfect
*Scott Pilgrim (who?) vs. the World:* A lesbian romance story about Kim and Knives
Lol
I have to admit, waiting to bring up the gay make out invulnerability frames until you were fighting the lesbian was pretty good.
Also I can't believe they made the third exe easier, I actually accidently did this challenge when I was younger and those fucking vegetables just annilatted your HP.
As a lesbian, I can fully confirm that we are completely invulnerable to damage while we’re kissing.
I’m so glad that mechanic has not be added to fighting games...
As a bi person, I haven't been able to test this yet but will report back once I have

Can't we talk about yhe pixel jiggle animations in this game, it's truly an art in of itself
It’s true art.
Let's hope that after this grueling challenge Michelle and Rebecca share a thousandth of the love Kim and Knives did. You've fucking earned it!
Also, as a bisexual, I am sadly not invincible while making out, but any kiss involving me IS projectile invulnerable, so ... that's something.
Better deal than gay guys get. All I get is super armor which sounds nice but it just means that I usually take more damage than the make-out session heals during it’s insanely long animation.
@@appelofdoom8211 Damn that sucks. Wonder what trans people get, just to complete the acronym.
@@austinfletchermusic We get thorns frames, it's nice because it knocks down enemies that try to interrupt but we end up taking a bit more damage than we heal. Though, that means we take projectile damage, unfortunately.
Oh shit so I get projectile damage AND am immune to projectiles?
@@HeyItsAmber99 Non binary people get to reflect projectiles on top of the thorns, but as like a trade-off when we get hit the animation is interrupted we completely miss out on the healing.
Well, seems we've officially gotten to the point where Gamechamp can BARELY say all the backer names before they scroll off screen. Well done guys.
...you do realize she can just make the backer names scroll slower, right?
@@timothymclean yeah, by spamming snake seeker and slowing the scrolling down.
Mega man 3 quick man joke, that she did to defeat the quick man rematch.
I find this one especially funny because self-improvement is a major theme of the comics. Great video as always!
Me and my friends played it way back when it first came out.
We had no idea stat upgrades existed. We made it to two phases through the final boss.
We got ridiculously good at the first two sections of that fight, but could never make it through the heart/arms. As soon as we finally looked it up and realized we were completely missing the stat upgrades, we went and spent all of our money and beat the game first try.
I played this game as a kid and legitimately didn’t know there was upgrades until I let my brother play the second to final level.
"get ready for the longest lesbian make out session of your life"- gamechamp, 2022
Ah, yes. Scott Pilgrim vs the world. This game was a major part of my childhood, where I played it on my Xbox 360. You've reminded me of that childhood, and I truly thank you :)
The game got rereleased, so go play it again if you want!
I remember spending hours on the final boss with a friend when we were younger on normal difficulty and never managed it, so this is insanity
Every video of yours is a masterpiece of storytelling, humor, genius lines and a testament of skill.
We need a "zero stat upgrades" category in speedruns for this game.
They’re working on it, actually.
You've heard of the lesbian skip, now get ready for the lesbian strat.
Major props for reading out all the Patreon backers. It’s commendable.
The disembodied eyes at 13:00 just staring and laughing during the make-out session was just priceless
5:26 can't believe you predicted an entire p[lot point of the netflix show
Pfffffffffffffffff
I cannot even put into words how insanely funny this is
Besides Knives, I think it's fair to say that Wallace is the best character in the series.
So the power of Lesbians is what won the challenge essentially.
The power of lesbians seem to win a lot of things, now that I think about it
I'm in lesbians with you.
@@_-Lx-_No, dude. The other L word.
Fun fact about my playthrough of the game: I wasn't aware that the stats were a thing and I didn't know how to upgrade them and I just beat the game without leveling them up. It wasn't until I tried beating the game a second time that I discovered how to max out the stats and felt like an idiot
"Thankfully, Alberta has a stun animation-" that's a statement I never thought I'd hear.
"I'm gonna beat up the entirety of Toronto without learning anything!" -Scott for the first few issues of the comic
I remember playing this game on the highest difficulty and not having too much trouble until the Kefka phase of the final boss, which had so much health I needed to lower the difficulty, and I'm pretty sure I had max stats.
I love the challenges that are "Can I beat the game without improving my character?"
This may have been a challenge for most of us, but unfortunately for me this was normal gameplay because I was too stupid to realize shops did more than just give health items.
PFFT
Been binging your videos for a couple of days and seeing this appear before my eyes gave me whiplash
I've been wondering if this was possible for the last 7 years, but didn't look it up much because, you know, the game was famously hard to get a hold of. Thanks for making this!
Always a joy to see this channel in my feed.
I was unknowingly doing this until I watched this video in shock
This game is one of my favorites, glad you made a video you on it, while I’m sick
really happy to see a video from you after a while. thanks so much for your videos!
I've never played this game before. I love the fact that you heal by being a lesbian
Idk if you started HRT, went into vocal training, or something else, but your voice seemed to be higher in this vid and I’m happy for u!
Last time I checked no, Voice just seems to vary a bit on different days.
Femizing HRT doesn't change the voice at all anyways so it would need to be training
HELL YEAH!! I saw some of the streams for this, super excited to see the vid!!
Definitely one of my favourite videos of yours, the tactics like endless makeout with Knives is hilarious.
Thanks for the nostalgia, absolutely love scott pilgrim, comics, movie, and the game. So looking forward to the newly announced scott pilgrim anime
Gamechamp is a one-liner machine, and this run proves it.
Thank you, Ms. Champ-san, for reminding me this game exists and that I have this game on Switch
I want to pick it up, just for the appealing art style.
Here's an idea for a future VG Myths episode: Can you beat Super Mario World without activating any of the colored switches? You have to beat every world, and that includes every Star World level as well as the Special Zone.
If you're talking about all 96 exits, I think there are a few that explicitly require the switch palace blocks. Special World 8 in particular.
@@becomingsentient1208 Not all 96, just enough to beat all seven Koopalings as well as Bowser. I've beaten the entire Special zone without any of the colored switches. Let me give you a hint: One of the special Yoshis is the key. I'm not gonna tell you which one; I'll leave you to figure that out for yourself.
@@linkthehero8431 would you allow a guess?
Isn't that just showing off how broken the cape is for a third of the levels?
@@velvetbutterfly Not the cape, one of the special colored Yoshis found in Star World.
