NJ Transit, Amtrak meltdown continues

  • NJ Transit and Amtrak riders found themselves stranded yet again after the Northeast Corridor was disrupted during the Friday morning rush, adding to a week of transit woes for the state. NJ Spotlight News correspondent Raven Santana spoke with Larry Higgs, a transit reporter for NJ.com, about the breakdowns and what are behind the problems that have left commuters fuming.

    Imagine being in that position. You have a product. That product is horrible and it stinks but everybody still uses it. The worse the product is the more you charge. And the people will still pay for it.

    Time to "re-tension" the HV overhead lines. Cost ? Approx 100 million ! thanks to Unions...and government contracts.

      He needs to step in and own this issue; it could make a huge difference for many Americans, of all income levels too, if we had decisive federal intervention

      Murphy underfunded it as well and wants to pump money into a highway expansion at the expense of NJT. If you're focused on political parties you're missing the bigger issue: all of our leaders are not responding to our needs.

    We understand please just do the best you can untill after the election and the democrats are all gone . Consider doing a news story on the subversion and demoralization of The United States East Coast by the democrats . It's pretty common knowledge to everyone at this point and frankly it's pretty embarressing when you look back at it all .

      Republicans have a worse transit record than the Democrats... the Democrats suck but the Republicans don't even TRY to work with trains + buses, to my eyes
