  • Hello and welcome. The bigger channels state that they knew about the ‪@DanielDefense‬ H9 project for a long time. Us smaller channels are not privileged to that information and this was a total surprise to me. Thank you to ‪@RangeUSAOfficial‬ for making this H9 available to me so I could film this first impressions video. I've owned the Hudson H9 since it was released and I was hoping that someone would pick up the pieces and realize it's full potential. I appears that ‪@DanielDefense‬ has done so. I really like this gun. If ‪@DanielDefense‬ watches this, I'd love to do a long-term test on this gun.
What are your thoughts on the DD H9? I look forward to your comments.
Thank you for stopping by and God Bless.

I test3d it yesterday with 15 rounds. I did not mind the way it handled. The trigger through me off. First two rounds were Sellier & Bellot. Last 13 rounds were Magtech. Both were 115 gr.
At 7 yards I was off by 1 1/2" with S&B ammo. At 5 yards I was on point with Magtech ammo.
I am kinda excited for it.

Got mine today, cleaned and lubed it up and put a box of 200 through it with 0 issues and im in love. Shoots like its a 380, very soft and controllable. Actually can double tap tighter with it than my shadow 2 or staccato. Ill do some more testing and run some hp mags through it but so long as that goes good its going to be my new edc. Maybe i just got a good one but based off my experience so far i would recommend it

There's a lot of guns that perform that same task especially like Walther that has the same design for a number of yrs now but the H9 is a brand new design with being a all metal gun so maybe it has tighter tolerances just like some 1911s or all metal guns.

@princez413 a lot of the videos are showing that the gun is jamming but after they oil it up, it runs fine. I'm assuming it's the metal to metal that needs lubrication just like the 1911/2011's.

@@awokeone7997 You may be right. I used it as a range rental. It might need a cleaning and oiled. I'm not used to the 1911/2011 platform. I really like the way the gun shot. Very low recoil. I also love they way the gun looks.

I rented the H9 & shot 100rds this weekend. In my sample size of one, the fit and finish was fantastic! Recoil was minimal and the sights were quickly back on target. The ambi features were much appreciated as I'm a Southpaw. Accuracy was fine, but I never really warmed up to the trigger. I'm sure that would be easily addressed through regular training. But, the big disappointment was the gun would lock open w/1 round left in the mag on every mag I put through it. I'm told that is an extractor tuning issue, so maybe that's a quick fix. Overall, it was a fine firearm, but that last issue is enough for me to pass on purchasing one for now.

It blows my mind that anyone would shoot a brand new gun without field stripping and lubing. They come either bone dry or covered in some sort of preservative that’s not meant as lube and just gunks up the gun (like Glock).

Picked up one from my LGS and more than excited about the price I paid for it ($1099). Took it to the range (also Range USA), and didn’t clean nor oiled. A few jams, but discovered it was likely the stiff magazine springs while loading to capacity of 15. Reduced to 13 and no further issues. The trigger….well, this will take more training to get use to. But it’s flat shooting for sure! Feels good in my (glove size) large hands, and it’s slim! Problem was that I took my P229 Pro Cut to compare.

I got the Hudson 9, haven’t had any problems with it. As it’s only 8000 manufactured I would keep it as a collection piece and get DD’s H9 for evert day use…(living in Sweden, so no carry, just range use).
DD’s H9 look fantastic! And it got more space in the trigger guard than the original H9, making it easier to operate with gloves ( Sweden: far north, cold or chilly about 9 months of the year!). It definitely looks like an evolved version of H9, what one perhaps could expect the original to be had they stayed in business. They did manage to come out with an aluminum frame, reducing the total weight significantly, before they forced to go out of business… but who knows, just speculation on my part..😊
Regarding price point here in Sweden, I payed 1430 usd, so I suspect the price for the DD would be 3-400 usd more if/when it lands here ( if I remember correctly H9 was about 1100 usd ) and that would equal the standard Sig Sauer P226 over here.
But I must say, loving my H9, I would gladly pay that for DD’s H9 without any doubts !👍🏻
