It's awesome if you thing you know most game music - and then RUclips guides you to a guy who records a video on a 90s VHS with a great selection of titles I mostly haven't heard before! Great work! thank you
Hi, great video. Really like the VHS style of it. Very awesome. As you have posted 5:17 isfrom Lekis 1 - a game (I assume) from a soviet producer Nikita? Is that correct. I google id - bt there is not much info for Nikita, and about Lekis - not at all. Can you provide more information and from where these games are accessible?
Man, you just can't beat that raw, oldschool Adlib sound.
not sure if anyone gives a shit but if you guys are bored like me during the covid times you can watch all the latest movies on InstaFlixxer. Been streaming with my girlfriend during the lockdown xD
@Titus Amos Yea, have been using instaflixxer for since november myself =)
Very awesome!
WAIT, is this a PANASONIC VHS recorder?
I wondered where you got your sound recorded to and I remember that it had a MIC-IN to record Line-In directly to the VHS. From my vague, 18 year old memories the yellow display with the two input level bars (stereo) looks a bit like our VHS recorder which I often abused as tape machine by pluggin in a mic. (Weird, huh? I could have used a CC on a cheap stereo but nope, my dad let me record my childish beatboxing onto the audio track of a VHS)
I am using AdPlug right now, but I wish there would be more/any trackers that make music for the OPL2 anymore..
Please, rip the Tyrian 2000 OST, this game has a cool jukebox!!
Tyrian 2000 full version became free to download at www.gog.com, once you registered there, you can download it aside with other free fullgames.
The first song from the Sanxion disk number two is simply fantastic ! I remember the time of my adlib opl2 directly connected to the sound system in the basement with his old 15 inch speakers .... the loud bass of this soundcard is symply incredible ! And this song shaking the entire house . You make my day . It was the right time .
Amazing to listen to this and see the footage looks so terrible but the sound is so amazing, and knowing the audio and video was recorded in the same era with the same level of technology. Interesting just how much we keep improving visuals but audio we've had as good as we can reasonably get it since probably the 70's...
I think there is still room to improve in audio, but I know what you mean--compared to graphics' visual fidelity in the 1970s, the equivalent audio would have been like the sound of grinding gears and screaming. I do look forward to the day when I cannot tell if I am listening to a recording or someone actually talking though.
F29 was the best flight simulator ever made..in 500kb!!!
The Incredible Machine was whopping 900 KByte. I still don't know why.
"Sorry for 240p", he says.
9:10 LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
awesome! where to get those music disks? nvm, found it. btw that's an OPL Clone not the real YM :D but thx anyway for using original hardware! :D
Огонь отличные звуки =)
song at 1:00:00?
Song at 1:29:56?
Great video! It brings back a lot of good memories!
Love your game music rips man! I'm looking for a .sf2 soundfont file to make DOS style music myself, and I haven't found one that sounds like its truly ripped from a 90's sound card. any suggestions?!
looking into it, thank you.
Does someone know the name of the song starting at 59:20 its soo nice
It’s Sandstorm by Darude.
Outside the world.amd by Dalezy
Oh Darkspyre, one of my favorite CRPGs ever, and completely unknown now (and then, really). I was too young to figure out how to get past one of the levels, but since the level order was slightly randomized on each playthrough, I would keep starting new games and seeing how many levels I could finish before hitting that wall, haha.
Mostly nice. I really can't consider music that uses the chip as a DAC true AdLib though XP
real device is only what can i accept, hating emulators for their bias
Retaliator theme is amazing
Can someone PLEASE tell me the song that starts at 57:07??? It is incredible and I don't recognize it.. I'm super late but hope someone sees this soon, can't stop listening to this!
Heck, what tracker even is that? How did I not know there were evidently sixteen-channel tracking programs available before .MTMs hit the scene? Though I guess it could be playing on a more contemporary program and just using oldschool raw data? Hard to say.
this is how enya makes her music !!!
Cool! Do you know the name of the song at 1h 20min and 26s? It's great! Thanks for sharing! ✨👌
Haha forgot to Read the comments, got it thanks! Awesome video, great tunes!
Please more videos like that!
Dude I absolutely love the setup!!!
Why the hell does this have five thousand views instead of five million? Brilliant video!
Because this video recorded on a VHS camera.
11:39 thats not ad-lib. that's soundblaster.
Soundblaster is Adlib compatible.
And besides, he know that, or else he woukdn't had mentioned it within the description.

2 years later and I'm still jamming to this
Song at 1:20:25? :)
+nobucksgiven Found it. It's Bird - ScENE :D
Could you tell me where I can listen to it? Google fails me.
Go to Modland's FTP then: pub/modules/Ad Lib/AMusic/Bird/scene.amd
(I don't want to post a link because RUclips might flag my comment as spam)
Then grab Adlib tracker II to play it :)
I fucking love you dude. Thank you!
I ended up using the AdPlug decoder component for Foobar2000.
Now I'm gonna spend the night downloading stuff from that FTP...
old digital MIDI music is wayyyy better than todays crap videogame music
No MIDI in this video.
