The third break light all the way across the width of the rear bumper is generally called a “heckblende” (doesn’t always need to include the actual break light hence why I said generally). It’s a pretty common thing amongst German cars, Porsches are actually known for them on cars like the 911 but now on all but the Caymans and Boxsters. BMW and Mercedes have also done this in the past.
Jail breaks mods. A lot of cars sold today will have some sort of software locked feature (for good or for bad) that people will want to jailbreak. Like the ability for infotainment to play Netflix or actual RUclips videos (this is cool but don’t do this while driving). The more acceptable ones and jailbreaks to unlock features that were locked behind dumb subscription plans like heated seats, more HP. Navigation and such.
I honestly think where going to see more custom taillights “Tetris Style”, lowrider paint jobs but only on the roof, and late 90’s/early 00’s tuner car builds finding the bodykits, wheels, stereo systems and head unit from back then

I hope factory aero makes waves. I've been adding all the factory aero to my Evo X during 2023 and I love it! Here soon I will finally be ready to add it to the build threads
Bro the light on the AMG's wing looks cool as fuck. That's 1000% going to be a mod that either works or it doesn't. Ngl I might do something similar to my VB WRX because the fake trunk light irritates me and I'm not sure how I like paint matching it.
Brand wraps becoming popular now actually make me upset, because ever since 2019, I've wanted to do a redbull livery on my car and im just now finally able to do it, right when everyone else is hoping on the bandwagon, so now instead of me being different, everyone is just gonna think im doing it for clout. Which honestly makes me not want to do it
One that I've noticed slowly building up is the death of the straight pipe! People are finally putting in work to get a good tone out of their cars and actually building a good exhaust system. They're starting to understand LOUD does not equal "good".
TBH classy bmw guys have been ahead of the painted CF trend with CSL trunks on the e46 m3. Once one dude was like, YEAH let me paint everything but JUST leave the curve exposed the game was over, soon after the painted GTR hood w/exposed vents became super popular. exposed CF is no longer cool unless its OEM. Its super cool if its structural or a significant body panel. Forged CF trend needs to die.
I intend on painting my datsun 510 painted in Aircraft paint. Instead of stickers or wrap, painted on logo's. I want to wide body, retub it to tuck the wheels better. SR20 turbo, 5 speed trans. I want this little car as a trailered ride for my 65 Chevy bus RV.
1 I would like to c is reflective caliper wrap . I'm surprised they didn't mention that. ruclips.net/user/shortsPNDwGCLskDs?si=4E46maRtCm5tMSwR That's my GTI with a BBK an wrapped for about a year an half.
I think dakota is dead on with painted carbon. I am actually ☝️putting a 3rd brake light on my 1983 280zx because the turn signals just so low and small and dont catch your eye.
I'm putting a carbon fiber hood on my 2012 E93. There is a special place in hell for people who paint carbon fiber parts. Absolutely can not stand that. Why even use carbon fiber if you're going to paint it. Just get fiberglass and save the CF parts for those who show it off as intended.
I'm all for 90's liveries, and even before like the 80's. Saw a guy did a Walter Wolf scheme on his bike recently. And the factory option aero body parts are cool too.
ive been revisiting my childhood by emulating need for speed most wanted (the original) on my computer and remembering the blacklist liveries makes me want 90's style decals to come back sooo bad
Anyone have any suggestions for a crossover? I’ve got a stock, base trim dark blue 2020 Mazda CX-30, and tbh, I’m not sure what I’d want to do with it. I love it’s utility, and I want it to last for as long as I can, but also I wanna love the looks of it a tad more. I know I’m gonna put some roof rails and a rack on top for extra utility and looks, but is it worth putting an exhaust and an intake on a 186hp car like that? I imagine I could do some other stuff to it too, depending on the mods I can find (also new, larger rims would prolly make it really pop, it’s got 16in rn, but I think it can support up to 18in rims without messing with the suspension or anything). Most people I know tell me it’s really not worth modding a car like that and I should wait ‘til I’ve got a better car, but I also want to love the car even more than I do, and I don’t wanna have the “mom car” vibe for forever.
If you have fun modding it, it's worth modding. Especially if the end result is unique. If you mod the exhaust IMO you should go for tone rather than volume, since if it's not super powerful, just making it loud will be obnoxious for you and doubly so for everyone around you. Taller rims may look cool but they also make the ride quality worse so bear that in mind. Honestly I'd go for meatier tires if anything, just the widest tires you can put on it. Crossovers with fat tires look surprisingly sporty as with the extra ride height you can see how wide they are. Crossovers also look better if you can lower the suspension, as at that point it's just a slightly larger hatchback/wagon. Whatever you can do to improve the handling will make if fun enough that 186 hp won't matter.
Suspension, wheels, tires, audio, intake/filter and exhaust. These can be done with minimal aftermarket support. Anything else becomes DIY and a lot of trial and error. Imho keep it simple. Not every build has to be ground breaking. Just enjoy. I build my cars for me, and hope other people “get it”. I listen to other people’s suggestion, but at the end of the day, it’s your car. Do what makes you happy. A nice set of coil overs and wheels/tires is a great start imho.
@@Thinginator yeah I was looking only at an Axle-back exhaust from Corksport, hoping not to mess with reliability a ton, as it’s been pretty good so far, but I also don’t know the benefits of doing a cat-back system. First thing I know I’m planning to do is roof rails and such, I think it gives the car a super utilitarian feel, somethin I dig.
@@kenfuji2001 I will probably do suspension and wheels/tires last so I can match it to the rest of the thing, but also cuz I have stuff I’d rather do first. That said, audio is a great point, cuz it’s got a great stock system, but I could use some bass. They’ve got options to throw in some Bose stuff, but I don’t know if I’d need the full deal or if I could just tie the subwoofer in alone.
I have a 23 Mazda3 hatch. I did wheels and tires first. Lighter wheels than stock and stickier tires. If you have a base model, I’m guessing you have the 16 in aluminum alloy wheels? The higher trims have 18in wheels, so maybe black 18in wheels and a set of tires would be something to consider. I have Michelin pilot sport 4s tires on mine and they make an all weather version also (my wife wants them on her CX-50) Like someone already mentioned, intake and exhaust are easy mods as well. It just depends on what you want to go for! I am personally going for a sportier look and a little better performance. I added the OE aero kit pieces and swapped the spoiler for a CorkSport spoiler since it’s bigger than OE and goes well with the rest of the OE aero kit. I have an intake and am waiting for my cat back exhaust to come in. After that I plan on tuning for a little extra ponies. Happy modding!

No roof rack lol
I have a 23 Mazda3 hatchback. I bought the premium plus turbo model which came with the front air dam and spoiler. I added the OE side sill extensions and rear diffuser. Without any of it, it looks like an egg. All that to say, you can chalk me up as a confirmation for the aero kit prediction.
