dude, I am so glad I found your video. I was getting ready to pull the carburetor and rebuild it. This was the problem, this mower hadn’t been started for over a year and it kicked over on the first crank. Once I move that choke all the way closed.
You the man!! I changed the air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, cleaned the carburetor and changed the spark plugs before finding this video. It was the choke adjustment all along! You are smart and I am dumb lol!
Damn that long might take me 10 or 20 years before i see a wire harness and its plug ends for mine Unless someone else thinks their engine is blown up and they sale me another one with all the wiring harness to the engine its the only way
It's also frequent that these do come from the factory with the screw tight, but mis-adjusted on the cable length. You can check by watching which lever that cable rotates right on the carb, then see if you can push it farther than the cable can. If so loosen that screw and shove the cable over towards the carb then retighten. When it comes from the factory misadjusted, the engine is so new-perfect for the first season that it doesn't even need the choke, so you don't notice the flaw until the second season.
I have the same exact mower and mine only starts when I spray gas directly into the mower carb on cold starts. After it starts, it has no problem starting again till it gets cold. I will check this out. I was just about to buy a carb bc I just cleaned this one. It fixed my problem and now my mower runs like a top 1351 hours
@@dogtooth11able soon as i touch the red wire to + on the battery it starts right up plus with its new rectifier put on the used battery would still be dead without that
Some one just gave me this mower yesterday for free cuz it wasn't running, a gummed up carb, and this exact issue was the problem. Not a bad come up for a $7.99can of carb clean
My husqvarna has been decent. It had three mower decks under warranty, and the engine has been off twice for oil leaks, not too bad considering it's a 2005,has 327 hours, just change the oil and filter once a year and grease the spindles on the mower deck a few times a season
Cub cadet it’s a 60$ throttle handle and cable I used a 4’ hand lawnmower throttle cable bolted w a pc a steel mounted the steel plate but I have to manually lift the choke know she’s not maxed rpm and choke like the original I can 3/8 it and choke she starts right up
I wanna know how to manually start a tractor when the battery goes dead. Garage ain’t got power and it’s a pain in the @$$ running extension cord out to charge the dang thing. Will the battery charge itself when the motor is running? Or am I supposed to charge the thing on regular basis?
I had no crank/click/anything Deere l100. Pulled my hair out for a couple days. Found out the brake switch was loose on the frame and slipped off the brake linkage when the brake was applied.
Omg you got me 😂 because if someone said hey my mower turns over but doesn't start. Hmmmm. Yea thats not a solution but a rare occurrence. Probably should check the oil first.
@@keithturgeon5448 He saying that the problem in the video is a niche and rare issue, probably not the first thing you should check if your “lawnmower doesn’t start” The guy in the vid is generalizing lawnmowers bro starting to a loose choke cable screw, when there are many other more common problems.
This is NOT a rare issue with these. They very commonly come misadjusted from the factory and need the cable slid over a bit before you retighten that screw. I bought a $2000 machine for $500 because the owner didn't know of this 30 second fix.
People are surprised when i say this but my john deere e110 has q 1000 hours it is very well maintained and just today ive had to replace the belt because i was pushing its limits 😅 but every other time i mow it gets grease every 10 to 15 hours it gets a full service blades to oil and it runs like a dream never had a single issue besides some common ones like it just laying grass over but that seems common for nearly all john deere mowers
Why are you changing the blades so often??? 10 to 15hrs that's on average 10 to 15 mows, unless your blades are warped, bent or broken there is no immediate need to change them, you can resharpen blades for years and years especially if you have a decent little bench grinder, blades are not cheap especially if your mower uses multiple blade to cut with, you should be able to on average under normal operating conditions have your blades last for 3 to 5yrs or more, only time I've ever changed blades is if I hit something that damaged them or they broke or simply wore enough where the edges or tips of those blades were wore enough they started leaving uncut grass in between them, I service, rebuild, and fix all things small engines, been doing it since I was 8yrs old with my old man, I'm 39yrs old now, please stop wasting your money changing blades that often when not necessary unless actually wore out, damaged or broke, I literally charge 15bucks for me to do a sharpening and servicing of the blades at my shop, that's a flat rate no matter how many blades are on the deck, you can't bring me 20 blades lol, only valid with the amount of blades the mower deck requires stock form, and yes I've had to explain that a couple times to some customers lmao...
@RodneySizemore-uf4yu i should edit my comment i dont fully replace them i just sharpen them just the other day i had to replaced one cause a rock just decided to pop out of the ground 🙃
I could use parts off that engine for my 40h777 craftsman/Briggs engine. So now i gotta put another cable on it i attached a cable to the top of the carburetor but nothing at the bottom Im using used parts off my other junk mowers so it might look like shit on the outside but all functions the right way its not new like yours you probably paid around 3 thousand something for yours I just bought the 40h777 used the guys friend said the engine was blown up but its not i think he'd be upset if he heard it idling smooth again it didn't for him because he had vehicle plugs in it and had a few air gaps and no ignition switch or wire harness no diode or rectifier. I paid $40 for my engine
Thanks for the video but something is wrong with your video. When I sent the video over to my TV I could see where you started your lawn mower but looking at it from the short video it don't show you starting your lawn mower.
And I don’t know what to say because I have to go back to school today so I’ll be back to work tomorrow so I’ll just be home tomorrow morning if I don’t get back 😮
Too many times!! Currently sitting outside my shed because it happened today. Now I will probably have to charge the battery. I do have some spray stuff that usually helps but I didn't try it until after I may have flooded it .. because I had left it up at the house. And because my mower man had just changed out the carburetor for me so I thought things would be great 🙄
Yeah i noticed you pushed your foot down i unhooked all that spaghetti from mine from all my mowers and the neighbor's i worked on to and explained to them the good in doing it that way is all so the mower stays running while you get up off from it to pick a twig up or move a turtle or to make th3 snake move out of the way so you don't wanna squish any of those unless its already dead
Gday I live in Australia and sometimes find it hard to find a Slasher that can climb 10 to 15 degree hill. The problem I’ve had is the oil pump being capable of operating the oil just as efficiently as driving on flat land. I’m interested in a Huski that can operate the oil pump going up and down. Any recommendations would be beautiful. I have only 2 acres but it’s enough to require a decent machine for around $4’000.00 US OR A LITTLE OVER $5’500-$6’000.00 Australian. Cheers folks. All Huskies can be purchased in RUAL Australia no problem. It’s getting the right advice that is 95% always an issue. Sales people trying to flog off that pile junk model no body will buy. Cheers again. And THANK YOU to anyone for your valuable advice.👍🇦🇺❤️🇺🇸🇨🇦🫡
I love the the fact that you hood lifts right off. What year is it? Mine is a 2021 model and you have to unscrew several screws just to get clear access to the engine! Stupid design.

ur guys engines are a bit newer than my craftsman 22 hp 40h777 but their still the same engine besides numbers
My mower doesn't start, wait, recharge the and it on first compression, no choke needed.

Ignition Stator or Voltage regulator are not functioning.
should be an alternator built in that keeps the battery charged
Charging system is only designed to maintain voltage. It can't compensate for a weak battery

WTF? Always lift your hood first, take a quick look over while you're checking your oil BEFORE you start it. I do, it's a no-brainer.
Even when you pull the choke it does this?
Its about setting it to the correct position so that the choke is fully closed on a cold start

Yes what if it's at a gas
The subtitle says "applause" I thought it was a bumper car. We don't have mowers in California.
They are illegal there I heard
so people in cali dont mow grass?
They don’t need to cut grass. Biden sends crack-boy (aka “Hunter”) there to smoke all the grass
you can't afford gas there , thanks to your governor! Can't stand that nut ..

No, I can't say that ever has happened to me.
Looks like as loose as that was it was staged and completely misleading information. And I've been a certified small engine tech for 20 +yrs
But in the end it shows him trying to pull his hair out instead of the mower starting…
That screw shouldnt of loosen up in the first place.😮😮
