Some good advice here for the people who don't know much about how mowers work, however you left out a couple of very important things...
    1. When checking the battery with a multi-meter, the meter may read 12+ volts but can have a bad cell, so as soon as you go to start it, it drops to 7 volts or so. You need a load tester, or like you said, take it to an auto parts store and have them test it.
    2. You showed how to change your fuel filter, but forgot to mention clamping off the line to the tank. If someone who doesn't know any better pulls off that filter and the fuel tank has any fuel in it, (hopefully not full) will get soaked with gasoline. MAKE SURE THAT LINE IS CLAMPED OFF!!! You can use a vise grip or buy the fuel line pinch off pliers for better results.
    3. You don't need to sit on the seat to start it if you set the parking brake. Sometimes and very few mowers need an extra push to depress the S.I.L. switch but you can start lots of machines with just setting the brake.
    4. Last but not least, when checking wires, mice LOVE to make a nest underneath the blower housing, (engine cover to the layman) and chew the coil wires in half. Most people wouldn't even know this, or how to check or take off the blower housing to check them, or even if they have tools to do so.
This is why you have your local outdoor equipment shop service your machine every spring.
Once again, you did a great job explaining things to people why their mower won't start! ;)

I had just finished mowing and blew the mower off with the leaf blower. After that it would not start. Wouldn’t do anything. Not crank, no lights, the hour display didn’t even come on. I was sure the switch went bad.
So I ordered the switch and when I put it in nothing changed.
I watched this video and kept saying “that’s not it, that’s not it.” Was just about to give up and move on.
And then you pointed out the fuse! My mower had it in a different spot but by golly that was it!
You saved me buying other parts and scratching my head while the wife laughed at me because I couldn’t fix a silly mower!
Thanks for the video! Saved me more headaches!

You do show and address the safety switch that is actuated by the "clutch/brake" pedal, but you don't mention what to do if it is faulty. Mine seems to be. if I re-seat the plug, it may work - or may not. It is intermittent and undependable. Can the switch be replaced? This is a 2017 24V48 tractor, and other than the faulty switch, it operates fine. The switch seems to move too much when the pedal is depressed. Does the pedal rod actually contact the switch physically? Great video BTW.

I can not recommend but I am sure if you connect the two wires it would be bypassed. I have never done that probably not a good idea for safety. Thank you for watching my video I hope I helped you.

I'll answer my question myself. Buy another switch (it's cheap), unplug the harness from the other switch which you can leave in place, using a cable tie to fully depress the plunger on the bottom, plug in the harness into the new switch, and you'll solve the problem. Works reliably every time. Easy and cheap repair. Now you don't hafta depress the lever with your left leg to start the engine.
