    Easiest way I have found to figure our if it is running on both cylinders is let it run for a minute then just spray a little water on each exhaust. If it steams up then it is running in that Cylinder. Hopefully it helps.

    Great video and excellent troubleshooting. Last year (2021) my next door neighbor couldn't get his Husqvarna YTH24K48 to start after leaving it outside all winter, unprotected from the weather and rodents. So, he started taking parts off not knowing what he was doing & ended up with a pile of parts & a still nonfunctional mower. Result was he pushed it out to the street, put a sign on it saying "free garbage, good scrap." I pushed it home, took the engine shroud off & found a huge mouse nest. I removed the nest, cleaned the carberator, flywheel magnets, and magneto too. One hour later, some fresh gas & it started right up. It now runs great.

    it looks like the belt is routed wrong around the idler pulleys on the right side when looking at it from underneath ,it should run thru them and not just along the outside of them and that will take up the slack, the junk you found in the linkage definitely helped but there is still not enough tension ,i know this was 2 years ago but mabey this can help someone
    thanks for your videos

    I had the same problem with the clutch/brake not releasing fully; there's a sort of ledge or plate up under there where grass and stuff piles up and gets caked on stopping it from moving far enough. Cleaned it off and it pulled just fine.

    I own a LGT2554 and a property with steep hills. It does just fine on them. I did put on a set of rear tractor tires to help out. When ever It feel like its getting sluggish on those hills I Check the belt and then it’s time to pull the tuff torq trans and change the fluid.
    They have a very good website with charts that tell you what oil to use depending on your trans. Or you could call them and they will tell you what you need. They’ll even sell you some.
    Great video, Good job and Thanks for sharing

    My Tecumseh vtwin was running bad on 2nd use this season. With balance test I determined which cylinder. I switched plugs side to side and problem switched too. New plug and it ran fine. For balance test i put an inline spark tester on both cylinders as they have metal exposed that I clip a jumper wire onto. Then I just touch other end of jumper to ground.

    I'm ready to rebuild the transmissions since I have 750 hours on the machine. It still should have a fluid and filter change since it's supposed to be a matinance free transmissions according to the manual. Right!

    I just got a free Husqvarna riding mower, had a bunch of little problems that made it unusable, easily fixed. Now it's a good mower. Online, I've heard people have a bad opinion of the Kohler courage engine. I guess it's common to swap it out for a Briggs & Stratton. Someone already did me the favor on this mower!

    Most mowers from 2000 up are throw aways, the rearebds aren't the best, if it can be c removed just change the fluid, the batterys low also but the twins had carb issues. Id check the pump but before try gravity feed. There could be rust on the mag or plugs shot or the cinnector to the plugs loose inside

  • @PaulHigginbothamSr
    @PaulHigginbothamSr Год назад

    Sounds like a valve misadjustment to me, but spark also has to be correct. Carb is also dirty. Looks like good diagnostic on rear end drive slipping. So he is doing well. he is a good mech.

    I really enjoyed your vid! This past week my neighbor put his Husky LTH1342 machine (Kohler engine) out on the curb with a "FREE" sign on it. We spoke on the phone about it.. and he said that the engine is hard to turn.. as if "hydro-locked". It had ran fine before he parked it prior to hiring a lawn service but when later attempting to use it.. he had trouble. He bought a replacement carb. for it.. but hasn't had time to put it on the engine. It's a 2005 model I believe. I'm fairly mechanical.. but not sure if I want to take a chance on fixing it.

    My john deer x300 is acting like that. And I have a bunch of hills so maybe it wore something out. But it happened all at once. At the very end of my mow on a flat part it stopped going forward or back and makes a scratchy noise and only goes about an inch forward or back. Hoping it is something minor but I doubt it.
    The motor runs fine and the blades still turn on and cut, just no power in the back wheels.

    You want an easier test to see if it's firing off both cylinders, just start it, and spray each exaust pipe, the one that doesn't evaporate immediately that's your problem cylinder, you don't have to unplug anything, just have a spray bottle of water.
