    Amazing katie! This makes me so happy watching you perform. Even bambi you!
    How did you cope with your body changing during puberty and adjusting to different height, fuller legs etc. Do you have any tips for getting through this time?
    Thanks a lot xx

      As a 13 year old ballet hopeful. Dreading that day, I really hope Katie responds. Comment this on newer videos she posts nearly immediately so she'll notice (Copy and paste this when she posts a new video and then comment! :)! Maybe even do a Katie advice video on it. Tbh, starving at weight loss is probably the most known (yet bad) way to cope. I don't want to fall through that bunny hole :(. This comment made me realize how scared I am :(.

    I think what fascinates me with watching you dance is how you ARE the character. You act every character perfectly. It's not so much sexy as exotic. Your technique is so amazing which allows you to really act the part and emote through the music. You were then and are still an incredible talent!

    The opportunities you had as a young dancer were truly amazing! I have only been in the Nutcracker and Swan Lake as part of the English Youth Ballet but to get the chance to do Pas de Deux at 15 like that must've been great! I've never had the chance to dance with a partner because there aren't many boys at my dance school!

    hi Katy, I loved the video you are an absolutely stunning dancer!:-) I was wondering if you had some tips on improving technique and catching up to girls my age(I am starting pointe 2 years later than most girls at my studio) with only 2-3 classes per week., and some tips on what to do if you have the opposite of the ballerina body (short-ish, muscular, busty). Thank You!

    Kathryn - Your beauty and attributes are perfect for Ballerina! You will be a Prima Donna by the time you reach 19 or 20 years old! I don't think I've ever seen anyone more perfect on stage like you! I'll be watching your progress as time goes! The old adage saying, "time waits for no one but...you're hitting floor running so, there won't be a problem for you! Keep up what you're doing now, and I know your name will shinning in lights very shortly! Thanks a million for helping to make this wonderful video! Good Luck - God Bless! Peter.

      I don't know how it could be applied to ballet, but as a contemporary dancer, that lacks strength and can't do any of the impressive technical stuff, when I have a chance to do my own choreography, I always focus on simple movements and use them to tell the story. Just try to get the basic technque to a decent level and do simple stuff beautifully :)

    Wow, you were amazing for a 15 year old! At my studio, the Arabian dance has a corp and a queen and is the second most advanced group dance in the Nutcracker (flowers is the first). Usually it's for the older girls that are like 16. I get to be in Arabian this year and I'm only 13. I guess they thought I was advanced enough for it at auditions. This will be my first year preforming en pointe, so I'm super excited!! I'm hoping this will open up some bigger roles for me next year. Anyway, great video! And I just realized you posted this on my 13th birthday!

    Another development I noticed a lot in this video is your feet technique. By this time you were with a lot of bad habits, such as concentrating the weight in the center. In Aurora you got so much better, your feet were almost perfect, as good as they can get with the wrong pointe shoe fitting.

  • @janedoex8345
    @janedoex8345 6 лет назад +1

    15 ? Holy shit. Wow.
    It would be interesting to watch some videos of her at age 8, 10, 12 to see the development. For me it seems like she still has some of the flexibility and light - weightness of child, while being taller than a 12 or 13 year old while already being taller and already in change... it's difficult to tell these girls age sometimes...I don't dance, but I've seen a lot of dancers, gymnasts, figure skaters etc struggle A LOT, because puberty really hit them like getting shot and the bone structure changes, the childish slender body suddenly, literally over night, matured into a more compact, heavier, feninine body type, completely messing up ones centre of gravity and therefore pretty much everything else.... Some adapt pretty fast, some seem to struggle longer... I find it really fascinating though....

      My Cousin grew up in Japan and was Progressing skillfully until at age 16 she had a growth spurt where she went from 4' 11" to 5' 7" in one year. She could no longer be a little swan which broke her heart, but she came back with determination and now dances as a second soloist.

    Anyone else issues with the fact that very young girls (often children) dancing sexualised parts and rols of adult women? I think abaout hat every time I see a clip from all the competitions and so on. For me it´s not correct and I´m quite sure it pleases some of the men in the audience more than it should.
