I'm getting a gargoyle gecko in 4 weeks. There's only one breeder in germany right now and he only sells once a year. I am SO glad I got one for this year. I was planning on a crestie but you're video made me choose the gargoyle gecko. Such amazing animals.

I didn't know Gargoyles were less into insects than Cresteds, good to know. And, I have a suggestion for a future video. Top 5 Reptiles that don't require live food or rodents. For those of us who are squeamish about such things. I didn't think feeding roaches to my Leopard and Crested Geckos would bother me, because they're disgusting, but I still feel a little bad for the roaches.
“If you wanna kill a gargoyle gecko-which you DON’T!-rough handling would be a really fast way to do that.” This man is lovely. You tell those prospective pet owners how to care for their sweet pebbly skin boys.
I was dead set on getting a crested gecko, but after watching this and your head to head video, I wanted to get a gargoyle instead. And now I am absolutely OBSESSED with my little girl! I mean, I'm still gonna get a crested gecko too, but I never would have known about these little monsters if I hadn't been watching your channel. They've quickly become my favorite lizard species! They way they turn grey (like a gargoyle turning to stone!) and their little horn-like knobs are so unique, it is really like having a tiny pet gargoyle ❤️
✨Hi ya, Clint!🦎 I just saw this video, and it's fabulous😉 I purchased my Gargoyle online 8 years, and she's phenomenal!💓 I've raised reptiles for 35+ years, including dozens of different breeds of chameleons. But, no reptile amazes me more than my sweet Gargoyle💗
I've got a gargoyle gecko! She's my first reptile and I absolutely love her. I named her Turnip. She's a little plain but has some spots of orange on her which is cute. I actually found her at my local reptile store so I guess I'm lucky on that part. Turnip does grip on me with her tail and had a pad on hers that's almost equal to the size of her toe pads. I agree with the score but I might give them a 4.5 / 5 for me personally. Great video!
@virtualcowboy2379 ✨Omg, Turnip is the sweetest name for a "new addition to the family" that I've ever heard💓 Hopefully, Turnip is doing very well🦎 I've had my Gargoyle for 8 years, and she's phenomenal!💕 Even though I've raised reptiles for 35+ years, everything my Gargoyle does is amazing☺️
I bred "Gargs" for a few years in the early 1990s, long before the color explosion. They are still reasonably priced for someone looking for an ordinary colored pet. But I've seen some in recent years with flabbergasting colors and patterns, with prices as much as four thousand dollars. There's something for everyone! When I was breeding them, their main diet was mashed fruits, fruit baby food, and they all ate a few small crickets every week. Wonderful lizards!
✨Oh wow! I'm in heaven just reading your memories with your "Gargs"💓 I've had my female Gargoyle for 8 years, and she's ah-mazing!!! Being surrounded by Gargoyle geckos sounds like my dream come true, lol😆🦎💗
Hands down, once I learn/read a bit more, this will be my first reptile. I love how they look and the fact they eat crested gecko diet is just another big plus, but this video I keep coming back too just to make sure I’m getting my info correct thank you for all the points
You honestly my Idole becouse i just love your personality, positive attitude, Happines and ofcourse all of the reptiles you and your wife own together.
I love the way they land, splat. We have wild geckos in our house. They seem to do very well and we see them often in their little respective hideouts, and then occasionally running across a wall😆
These are my favorite type of gecko, they are fascinating! But they are hard to find where I live (Slovenia). I will keep looking until I find one. Great video, I love your personality.
Geckos are always fascinating, and admittedly they have some of the best eyes xD It's really no wonder I was so crazy about the pokemon treecko as a kid.
Hi Clint! I've been watching your channel for awhile now and love it! For the longest time, I watched your videos because I really enjoy learning about different animals, even though I've never had, wanted, or even imagined I'd ever interact with a reptile. However, after months of research, my five month old gargoyle arrived yesterday morning and she is RAD! Thank you again for turning me onto some wonderful animals ☺ And I look forward to many videos to come!
I had a gargoyle for 10 years, she was around 8 when I got her. She was a frequent return as she was jumpy and a biter. I loved her loads! She wasn't a good eater though which often caused problems. Readily took cgd but ate very little of it. She didn't like insects beyond isopods and the occasional bsf. Super neat and personable lizards.
I've had my Gargoyle now since 2010, she was hatched in 2007, and still doing really well! Always happy to be handled (seemingly anyway) never nipped me, and will make soft chirps. Never ate an insect I've offered so she is on Pangea powder. Best reptile pet IMO.
Can't speak for other Geckos but my subadult Gargoyle LOVES desert locusts like crazy! Even more than Gecko diet. It's even jumping at the pincer when I offer locusts ;)
Hey Clint, love the content and it is obvious you have a well of knowledge when it comes to animals. Your thorough review of reptiles lead me to get my own Gargoyle Gecko the other day and I don't regret it. Gargoyle Geckos are my favorite lizards. They are absolutely beautiful and ancient looking. I hope to start my reptile collection soon and one day have the opportunity to own one of these beautiful creatures:)
I'm fine with bugs, but my mom *hates* them, and told me I have to get a lizard that doesn't eat bugs. A gargoyle seems perfect! Blimey, purple eyes!! These guys are stunning. Really love your videos. Learning a lot. Chameleons are my all-time favourite since I was a kid, but dealing with feeder insects creeps me out a bit. Could you do a video on how best to get over bug phobia and the fear of them infesting your house!!
Any time crickets get loose in my house they always die. You can also try mealworms and dubia roaches which are both super easy to breed and not stinky to keep as well. If you house them right they can't escape and dubias are super healthy for your reptiles. Crickets tend to stink but there are so many types of feeder insects I think you would be able to find some that work for you. I grab them with my hands but still hate doing so. You can use tongs to grab them.
I went out last Sunday after watching this video Saturday and bought my first Gargoyle. I was very lucky to have come across your videos it helped me determine if this species was for me. I love my little girl already and she has her own personality for sure. Looking forward to more videos from you and I appreciate what you do for these and all the animals you share with us.
I still can't get over how beautiful Gargoyle Geckos are. I'll get one of these for sure when I move out (my dad sadly is scared of any reptile, he'd probably be even scared of something as small as a blue tailed skink) The thing that is the most amazing about them in my opinion are their eyes. They're so gorgeous.
The New Caledonians get advertised as easy care geckoes but honestly, I think that's just regarding the food. The narrow temp and humidity range seems tricky. Especially if you don't control your indoor temps because you live in an apartment.
I just got a gargoyle gecko my first gecko. It’s a hatchling not sure of the sex but we are taking our time getting to know each other and I’m hopeful that s/he will be as relaxed and handleable as the one you have shown here. So far so good ❤️🦎
Gargoyle geckos actually sounds like a pet I would really like to have some time and I really like the look of it. Not sure if that actually will happen and if those are what I would end up with. Great channel
It’s awesome that you have a bioactive setup, I’m sure they’ll love it! Although new reptiles should be quarantined on paper towel for at least six weeks (ideally three months) to monitor their health.

They don't require all that fancy uv lighting and insects aren't a must and are optional. They look absolutely adorable and are fairly inexpensive. They can also regrow their tail! The only downside is that they are fairly uncommon (at least in the uk) and I'm still searching for one. Definitely one of the most underrated geckos if not underrated reptiles.
Wonderful video as always! I've had a gargoyle gecko named Goober since June and she's quite a bit smaller than these guys. I'm aching for her to get nice and big, though with gargs that can take forever xD
I was at repticon planning to learn about cresties and planning to prepare a tank to buy one then one specific booth had gargoyles next to cresties and I was in absolute AWE. I didnt think i could change my mind of the reptile I wanted but they stole the show. They had adult well handled gargoyles on display for people to handle, i saw them while looking for cresties and fell in LOVE. It made me change my mind (even tho i already have a crestie bumper sticker 😂) but yea ive been researcher and next month or so will finally start making its bioactive terrarium and then in novembers repticon ill buy my baby 💗 im hoping to get a grey female!
A really good video, although I realized that my gargoyle is weird as he refuses to eat anything other than mealworms. When I first got him as an adult he wouldn't eat any crested gecko mix, and he still wont.
I love my gargoyle she is a sassy one though haha she will bite first then realise I'm not a threat. But they are soo easy to care for I dont need heat for mine because her tank doesnt drop to any less than 75 degrees or more than 84 degrees, she gets misted every day once. And her food lasts 2 days before needing refilling super easy pets. And so many beautiful colors out there.
Hello , do you think u could make a video on chahoua gecko :) ! I’m trying to decide wether to get a gargoyle gecko or a chahoua and i absolutely love your videos they have been extremely informative and helpful it would really help me decide !!! Thank you
Cool little fact about the coloration is they do slightly change their colors based on lighting. Mine looks like the gray/black/red one on here. In the light she is primarily gray with a bit of black and red. When it's dark out she is pretty much all black and red
I do agree with them being uncommon, me and my family went to a reptile expo and there was only one vendor that as far as I knew had Gargoyle Geckos, and they had more Ball Pythons and Crested Geckos than Gargoyle Geckos, but we got a Gargoyle, an adult female :)
Hey Clint! Just found your videos for the first time since I am looking at getting a crested gecko as my first pet and I have to say this video and the crested gecko video were so helpful thank you very much. I now have a tough decision between this or a crested gecko!
Funnily enough, my garg goes crazy for insects (she even splinters the tongs sometimes!), but as my crestie grew up she completely lost interest. I love both gargoyles and crested geckos, my only problem with gargs is that mine seems to get get stuck shed on her toenails, even with the correct humidity, probably due to having longer nails than a crested gecko. Aside from that, I'd say gargoyles are just as easy as crested geckos, and are super fun and amazing pets. I think they look a bit like little crocodiles as well with the markings on their mouth.
You mentioned one dropped its tail 3 times.... does it always grow back or was it dropped at different sections? I always thought if it drops once it won't grow back the rest a second time from its previous drop... or is that some gecko species?
I encourage you to watch Tikis Geckos interview with Allen Repashy. Gargoyles have a different diet then crested and I think this is important for you to note.
i dont even want a lizard but i watch these for this guys personality

Yea & I go to strip clubs for the drinks lol 😂
He's so wholesome and enthusiastic -- much more fun than some wanna-be edgelord...
We all do
Everyone compares Leo's and creasties but gargoyles are like the forgotten species. But why I love their eyes and patterns and of course they grow back their tails!!! They are just as expensive so why are they so forgotten. Gargoyle love ❤️
Like African fat tails, some reptiles just seem to fall between the cracks. They are so cool!
Love the new picture by the way :)
You should make a video about African fat tails or knob tailed geckos they wouldn't score as high but it would still be interesting.
Great suggestions!

How is your gargoyle doing?
i loves these videos! could you make a "top five worst reptiles for beginners" ?
We sure can. It will be harder to show all the animals since I don't have them, but there are some real dandies. It would be hard to pick just five...
Clint's Reptiles
How about five advanced reptiles that people think are beginner reptiles?
Delilah Fox Anoles just every type of Anoles
Not really
Anoles are debatable

Hey Clint! Just found your videos for the first time since I am looking at getting a crested gecko as my first pet and I have to say this video and the crested gecko video were so helpful thank you very much. I now have a tough decision between this or a crested gecko!
They remind me of leachies. Just not as big or as expensive. I want one!! 🤗
I’m so happy I found your channel I am learning so much!
You’re the only channel I watch at normal speed lol
The end of your videos are my favorite
Aww...they're adorable!
I like how they randomly just kept jumping down 😂
I love those little alligator faces 🥺
I’m looking into having a lizard. And handling aswell. I’m new to them but have always loved and appreciated and would like to find one meant for me.
We just got gargoyle geckos at the Pet Supplies Plus I work at. They're tiny compared to the ones shown here! They cost about $100.
Gargoyle gecko's are some pretty cool lizards
Yeah, they're amazing!
I so want a GG right now. Because the RED morphs looks so BEAUTIFUL. And I’m so speechless when I see them. &Because they’re gorgeous
The jumps these guys made are impressive 😂
You mentioned one dropped its tail 3 times.... does it always grow back or was it dropped at different sections? I always thought if it drops once it won't grow back the rest a second time from its previous drop... or is that some gecko species?
Your channel is great. I can't decide if i should get a ball python, corn snake or a leopard gecko. It would be my first reptile.
I encourage you to watch Tikis Geckos interview with Allen Repashy. Gargoyles have a different diet then crested and I think this is important for you to note.
They are perfect for me!
Aren't they the best!
I don't know why but he reminds me of newt scamander
3:03 good jump
😂😂
Aren't they great?
Clint's Reptiles ya
I love watching these! What about a video on medium sized reptiles?
These little lizards are probably the cutest animals on Earth in my opinion!
Great video I’m new to the channel but your videos just make me happy so thanks bro
