I lubed the gears myself when I got it. It was easy. My gear cover has a phillips head screw. I've used it a lot for two months now. So far so good. Maybe I just got a good one?
At 1:04 it shows a lighted glider for a second when she talks about corner and edge-cleaning brushes. This is misleading.... the glides DO NOT light up. However, I do have a white Swivel Sweeper that had triple LEDs in the bottom of the battery holder that point at the floor. They really do a good job of lighting up the path that you're sweeping. Not sure why they stopped this model.
Guess what, our Swivel Sweeper died and it was not the battery! You can take the moving parts out of the base by removing the small allen-head screws out of the gear covers to expose the gears that power each brush assembly. Our sweeper died because one of the gears was locked-up due to being defective from the factory; the shaft that holds the gear welded itself to the spindle because it came from China without proper lubrication.
Continuation: They do NOT sell the individual replacement parts so you must buy the entire base for this thing in order to get back in business! Considering the cost of the base plus shipping and handling, you would be money ahead by purchasing another sweeper and keeping the broken unit for SPARE PARTS - you'll need them for sure!
yeah the charger sucks on this thing when mine dies ill keep it and use the old adaptor unit and i can hack the original charger to plug into my RC car battery charger, the chargers with these things they constantly charge the battery basically frying it, there is no auto shut off/trickle charge on the swivel sweeper charger
well they suck b/c the charger is basically just a power supply, i have a charger that will charge 7.2 volt rc batteries, but youll have to adapt the battery to connect to the rc charger use the insert that plugs into the swivel sweeper charger and you may have to modify it some
These are terrible. If you can go on eBay and get a used dyson dc35. They go for around $100 that is a little bit more expensive but it's vastly better. The batterys go out very quick on these, shit gets caught in the brushroll all the time, and finally they are just built poorly. I dont defend Dyson very much but their cordless vacuums are quite nice.
Battery and/or charger sucks. Waste of money, which is a shame because I did like it for my dining room floor and scrapbook room. Didn't even last 6 months!!!!!!
would not recommend to anyone. it is too time consuming to remove those brushes and hair does not come off easily. I would rather have a sweeper that has a bag and change the bag! Not powerful enough to pick up crumbs on grouted area of tiles flooring. Wish I had returned it before 60 days.
With a $600 Dyson you have to move the couch
Nostalgia

How long does the battery charge?
I have a new Swivel Sweeper, and I monitor the battery charge with my multi meter. The charger is it's downfall.
