This is the Storm Shadow Cruise missile a British-French Joint program to produce a low-observable missile.
Don’t be fooled by its innocent looks as it could penetrate around 4 to 5 meters or 16 feet of Concrete.
It does this by Storing 2 Explosives a pre-Cursor at the front and a follow-through bomb at the back.
We will also be diving into the interior of the missile, and the systems associated with it.
Not to Forget the Step by Step process of how it might work in a battle-tested environment.
Storm Shadow missiles can be launched from the Dassault Rafale the Eurofighter typhoon and most recently the Mig-29 or the Su-27 jets as shown here in the animations.
    It is a low-observable air-launched cruise missile,
Interestingly the development of the Storm Shadow missile is also known as Scalp EG

    Corrections and Notes
    The missiles weight 1,300 kg (2,900 lb ) Warhead 450kg / 1000 lb
"Niek Strijker" "Chris Smith" "Michel Michel"
The warhead alone is 450Kg - the whole missile weighs 1300Kg. The bunker busting warhead is a BAE systems BROACH type ( Bomb Royal Ordnance Augmented Charge ) - which is used in preference to a kinetic system for penetrating bunkers ( kinetic needs a heavier missile, as the kinetic bit refers to weight and speed ) - so the missile is lighter and longer range using the BROACH.
    "Dr. Tankenstien"
Just so you know the Mig-29 cannot carry the Storm Shadow due to weight constraints... Only the Su-27 and Su-24 have the required load weight for the Storm Shadow..

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't, by subtracting where it is, from where it isn't, or where it isn't, from where it is, whichever is greater, it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance sub-system uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is, to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position where it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event of the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has required a variation. The variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too, may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computance scenario works as follows: Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is, however it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subracts where it should be, from where it wasn't, or vice versa. By differentiating this from the algebraic sum og where it shouldn't be, and where it was. It is able to obtain a deviation, and a variation, which is called "air"

HEAT or high explosive anti tank warheads, or shaped charges or any other name i forgot to mention uses pressure to penetrate and not the temperature. At such pressure that metal lining/casing its in or plate in front of it may not even be molten but it will be in super plastic state acting somewhat like liquid somewhat like solid. Its over my head what happens at such pressures exactly but I noticed you mentioning that molten metal jet few times so i guess Im going to mention it. HEAT is simply an acronym but it really made many people think it uses heat litterally.

Great work! I can see the time and effort you guys are putting into making timely and topical videos. If I may just make a suggestion - your 3D animation work is always top notch, but I would recommend collaborating or building a relationship with an experienced defense journalist or engineer that you can ask to proofread the video/facts before publishing. I’m sure someone like Tyler Rogoway at The Warzone or Alex Hollins with Sandbox would be more than happy to watch and give you feedback to catch some of the little errors.
I understand it’s a tough balance, especially for a small 2 man team, between researching, animating, narrating and making new videos and “perfect is the enemy of good” but limiting the errors as much as possible before publishing is WELL worth the extra time because once you lose your reputation as an accurate source, it’s gone forever basically.
Anyway, I hope that doesn’t come off as criticism or anything, I’m a big fan of what you do and I can’t even imagine the work that goes into each video, but I’d hate to see you start to lose your reputation of accuracy because a few mistakes compounding. Thanks for the videos!

Animation note: The precursor warhead doesn't move, it explodes, disintegrating in the process. Because it's a shaped charge, approximately 20% of the explosive force is directed forward to make the hole which the follow-on charge then travels through. The explosion is over in a tiny fraction of a second, while the follow-on charge carries on moving with its own momentum at a few hundred metres a second, so the explosion is over while the follow-on charge is still moving.

Storm Shadow is impressive, but the American AGM-158 LRASM and JASSM stand out as the top "stealth" cruise missiles today, They incorporate artificial intelligence to effectively differentiate between decoys and real targets, or between civilian and enemy ships, employ electronic counter-countermeasures, utilize flashlight antennas for precise signal reception, coordinate attacks, manipulate waveforms, employ adaptive beam forming techniques, and exhibit frequency agility...... undeniably the most technology advanced missile in the world...i hope you do the video on it

We actually don't know which version was given to Ukraine, people have _assumed_ that it is the export version but these came directly from military stockpiles not sales stockpiles, they'll be fuelled as full fat - and yes the range is far in excess of 550km as the crow flies - the paper range is assuming a lot of avoidance plus a safety margin for a task-abortive diversion (which Ukraine is never going to use in a million years), it's also significantly more accurate than the on paper CEP. Don't ask for a source, you're not getting one.

How the Storm Shadow works? In short? It works well... Western nations have mastered the subsonic stealthy missile type to a perfection and the Russians and the Chinese have a lot to learn in this regard.. Beside the Storm Shadow and the SCALP-EG which are basically the same missile with different name, there is the German Taurus cruise missile and the most advanced and stealthiest - the American JASSM. JASSM comes in few variants with the basic one having the range of around 250 km, than there's the JASSM-ER reaching 550 km and finally JASSM-XR (extreme range) reaching over 1000 km.
That being said those same Western nations have for decades lagged behind the Russians, and recently behind the Chinese, when it comes to supersonic missiles. But that problem is being worked on with many programs being developed by the US, Great Britain and French militaries, with a goal being this new class of supersonic and hypersonic missiles. Some are anti ship, other are anti radiation while some are ground attack types..

The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't.
In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was.
The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
