I like to add some info from Chinese sources here. 1-2yrs before the Ukraine War, a Slava-class cruiser participated to a joint naval exercise with the Chinese Navy. The Chinese launched a UAV to simulate a sub sonic missile attack on the Russian cruiser, the cruiser's air defence failed twice. The UAV was eventually shot down, but I forgot if it was by the cruiser or by something else. The poor performance of the Moskava wasn't a surprise to the Chinese at all.
The reason that the Neptune missiles got through is because the Moskva was being held together by duct tape and wishful thinking. The main gun was down due to a hydraulic leak, five out of the six AK-630 ciws down and they were being used as spare parts for the one good one. The fire control radar for the sams was off because it interfered with the satellite radio. The main engines had been pushed well past their service life and could only manage a top speed of 12 knots. The rudders were partially jammed and could only turn a maximum of 20 degrees. Plus, due to rampant theft, all of the ships fire extinguishers were locked up and only the admiral had the keys. Other than that she was a fine ship and in perfect working order.
UPDATES/WEATHER: Russia's claimed stormy weather was bogus. US Navy reported WINDS CALM W/ NO WAVES. Video/photos confirm. UPDATES/OPTION 3: Moskva defensive systems were in poor repair and partially inoperative (per previous RF Navy audit of Moskva). Moskva sailors were conscripts distracted by an immediately-prior and ongoing attack by Byraktor drones. I wish your team inspiration! Your animations are always beautifully and clearly explained:) With regard to "Moscow", we can also add that they did not expect such audacity, otherwise they would not have come so close to the shore. It is the same story that the Russians underestimated Ukraine. By the way, an interesting fact: "Moscow" was built in Ukraine during the Soviet occupation :)
@@No.Inkognito As a Russian, it must be unpleasant for you to hear such thoughts about your country. But you yourself understand that the Soviet Union was a violent structure - the occupation of "friendly republics." Therefore, in general, this is occupation in this case of Ukraine.
@@UnclePuzzled Such words are not unpleasant to hear, but sad. In the West, they almost never tell details about the USSR. Ukraine could not have been occupied in any way if it had been part of Elina's country.😔 Pay attention. All parts of the Union were inside on the rights of republics and had some autonomy in decision-making. And this structure was laid down initially, unlike the united Russian Empire. Not only has Ukraine never been occupied, but, moreover, it was first separated from Russia in 1922 and, together with Belarus, formed the main core of the Soviet Union. )) And no, the Soviet Union was no more "cruel country" than all other democratic countries. And, most likely, a much freer country. Because it had a multi-level election system. All strata of society could be sure that their interests were represented by those whom they knew well and were confident in their decency. I could tell you a lot of details that you could confirm from Western sources. I was born and raised in the USSR. Today, among the remaining third of the former population of Ukraine, grandmothers are imprisoned for likes in Russian social networks.networks. (recently in Chernihiv) It is forbidden to treat Russians and Russia normally at the state level. And in school textbooks, 20 years ago they wrote that Russians are enemies and underdeveloped creatures. And no one (in the West) cares that this is not much different from "Nazism" and that Ukrainians were artificially made enemies for Russia. Literally every second Ukrainian has relatives in Russia. But it's hard for you to imagine such a monstrous farce...
@@No.Inkognito On December 30, 1922, the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic concluded an agreement with the Ukrainian and Belarusian Soviet "Socialist Republics" on the formation of the Soviet Union. Before that, for many years (1918, for example), there were military operations against the forces of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, which somehow ended up on the territory of Ukraine. Have you ever wondered what they were doing there? The entry of Ukrainian lands into the USSR was preceded by the establishment of communist authorities on this territory, which ruled the Holodomor in 1921-1923 (according to research, about half a million people died at that time!), which was not the result of drought alone, but was also a policy of "predistribution" , which exported an excessive amount of harvest from the territory of Ukraine. Why don't you mention the large-scale uprisings (due to dissatisfaction with the communist government) on the territory of Ukraine after 1922 and another famine of 1932-1933, which was also the policy of the "great" USSR (about 3 million people died in those years, and which was also not by chance, as the Russian side still writes). Regarding the second paragraph: either you are deliberately lying, or while living in the USSR you were still a child/did not notice what was happening around you. As I have already mentioned, famines and then repressions (for example, the Soviet political prisoner O. Solzhenitsyn gave the figures of 66 million repressed in the USSR (while Western historians write about 45-80 million), usually these were people "unpleasant" to the authorities, "spies", who were actually people who did their job poorly, for example, in the industry, and rebels who were against the Soviet government). Elections in the USSR were almost never transparent and usually the results were falsified in favor of certain candidates. The authorities were not interested in the lack of a large number of consumer goods, but weapons were produced in large quantities! The USSR was a totalitarian state, which cannot be "freer" than a democratic country, what are you talking about?!
@@No.Inkognito First of all, the person from Chernigov, about whom you speak, worked as a "gunner" - for money he provided the "Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation" with military and civilian coordinates! objects, and then Russian missiles get there... This is called espionage for the benefit of the enemy. This is a common thing during any war on both sides of the conflict! Regarding your longer theses: Russia invaded Ukraine in 2014, killed civilians... During WW2 the British hated the Germans, they taught history in school explaining that Germany and its troops were to blame for starting the war. The German population mostly hated the British, and vice versa. Now Russia is conducting an information policy to convince the Western World that Ukrainians are Nazis.. However, I have not seen a single Nazi...! What are you talking about.. Finally, at the end of the 10s, Ukrainian schools stopped teaching history with Russian narratives! This does not mean that the Russians are enemies! (though don't forget that more than 75% of Russians now support Russia's actions -- isn't that Nazism??!) The statement "that every second Ukrainian has relatives in Russia" is an audacious lie! There is indeed mixing in border areas, but these are only border areas.
It was clever how they programmed the missile to almost skim over the waves. Makes it extremely difficult for the CIWS on the Moskva to fire at a downwards angle to intercept it, if they worked at all...
The weather was very calm on the day the ship was attacked, this is easily verified by pictures taken after the attack. There are known issues with the radar systems conflicting with each other and when the radars are used the communication systems cannot be used due to interference. Most of the close in weapon systems designed for point defense were not operational and had been scavenged for spare parts to keep the one operational unit operating even though it wasn't. The ship was a victim of poor maintenance and upkeep more than anything else because if it was maintained the attacking missiles would have been shot down. Condolences to the families of those lost and prayers that the lessons are learned from this incident and applied
How would a Neptun radar with 600 km range work? It seems not to be built high above the ground and the targeted ships are also not so elevated. At 600 km distance, they would be undetectable due to the curvature of the earth. Or do I miss anything?

@@Aitelly then why don't you do this on russian kinzhal missile , ultra precise artillery system, eloctronic warfare systems ? Don't they have any kind of engineering theories?
Wow. It's grown arms and legs. The belief that this missile is real astounds me, and there is no missile strike on this ship. The Neptune missile has existed for a while, but it has the S 4000 rocket motor and a range of 40 miles. The R-350 was a wood-beam design, but it has no motors because it comes from China. The development was intended to be part of a deal with the US to develop the weapon. That is why there is one video on the internet from a long time ago. if there are more, let me see them. The radar from this unit cannot detect the ship at 190 yards away, and at 190 miles away, this weapon would miss a moving target unless it received mid-flight updates. It is not a technology they claim to have protected and certainty no one else has.
So 2 out of 3 defence systems could not engage the Neptune. Both missiles hit, was the automated close defence offline or did Ukraine fire many missiles?
Hi thank you for the very good video I have a trivial question I wonder if these highly advanced anti ship missiles are making warships of all kind obsolete Considering that a decent warship costs about half a billion what is the reason of spending such amount of money when a 5 millions missile can destroy it ? Am i missing something ?
Only the S300 worked and 1 out of 8 AK CIWS guns at its last maintenance report. Not to mention the sensor issues and breakdowns that happened often. That ship never of been anywhere near a warzone.or even at sea.
The moskva ship is pretty good. The only problem is that all good russian equipment is just not taken care that good and many problems arises from that.
The Neptune missile is based on the Soviet X35, which is a clone of the American Harpoon. х35 has been completely redesigned (only the body and the layout diagram remain) The missile is equipped with a guidance system that captures a target at a distance of up to 50 km, resistant to radio-electronic warfare. Also at the time of the presentation, the developers claimed that these missiles can attack in a group. When attacking a group, missiles exchange information, independently choose a priority target, its hitting points(the system is able to determine the profile of the target), or distribute targets among themselves. At the moment, I found mention of such possibilities only in old Russian publications
Ukraine's underwater drones I can't wait to see them target the Russian navy targeting submarines as well as Russian frigate destroyers 👍 Slava to Ukraine 🇺🇦
That could be difficult to attack a sub. I suggest that underwater drones like "Marichka" (thats the nice fat Ukrainian torpedo- like) are specially designed to attack Crimean bridge.

There was no stormy or bad wether conditions day when die Moskva was sunk! The s300 was disabled because the system interfered with the communication system. From 6 short defense guns was only one ready to work, the other 5 were used as spart parts for the one system. There exist a Russian navy report which was made two weeks before the invasion of the Ukraine.
Neptune's speed isn't 300km like the vid says - that'd be ridiculously super slow for a missile. I think whoever did your research confused the Neptune's *range*, which is actually 300km, with its speed.
It would also be worth adding that this missile is not entirely Ukrainian since it was created on the basis of the Soviet/Russian KH35 anti-ship missile
Russian cruisers are supposedly armed with the latest gen missiles that can hit threats between 10 meters to 25 meters. But if the Neptune can go that low (3 meters?!) well then no chance.
Completely forgot about the warship’s ECM system that can jam missles and chaff and flare countermeasures that can distract at the very last moment of launched

Bravo. Great shot Ukraine......!
I wish your team inspiration! Your animations are always beautifully and clearly explained:)
With regard to "Moscow", we can also add that they did not expect such audacity, otherwise they would not have come so close to the shore. It is the same story that the Russians underestimated Ukraine. By the way, an interesting fact: "Moscow" was built in Ukraine during the Soviet occupation :)
The aftermath of the Soviet occupation of what? )) What are you talking about?
Not only has Ukraine never been occupied, but, moreover, it was first separated from Russia in 1922 and, together with Belarus, formed the main core of the Soviet Union. ))
And no, the Soviet Union was no more "cruel country" than all other democratic countries.
(though don't forget that more than 75% of Russians now support Russia's actions -- isn't that Nazism??!)
The statement "that every second Ukrainian has relatives in Russia" is an audacious lie! There is indeed mixing in border areas, but these are only border areas.

Well done!
It was clever how they programmed the missile to almost skim over the waves. Makes it extremely difficult for the CIWS on the Moskva to fire at a downwards angle to intercept it, if they worked at all...
Thank You!
Big paper tiger. Anyone can say anything. Actions speak louder than words.
How would a Neptun radar with 600 km range work? It seems not to be built high above the ground and the targeted ships are also not so elevated. At 600 km distance, they would be undetectable due to the curvature of the earth.
Or do I miss anything?

Ask Moskva. He knows better how it works 😂
Brilliant!
Scenario 3 : U must have a lucky day 🤞
So 2 out of 3 defence systems could not engage the Neptune. Both missiles hit, was the automated close defence offline or did Ukraine fire many missiles?
Let’s goooooo

Hi thank you for the very good video I have a trivial question
I wonder if these highly advanced anti ship missiles are making warships of all kind obsolete
Considering that a decent warship costs about half a billion what is the reason of spending such amount of money when a 5 millions missile can destroy it ? Am i missing something ?

a nation that has no navy nor naval fleet sunk a Cruiser Ship
You going to pretend like Ukraine did not have a Navy in January 2022
Just because it doesn't have a navy doesn't mean it's over. coastal batteries like this Neptune missile can still Hit ships in coastal waters.
Only the S300 worked and 1 out of 8 AK CIWS guns at its last maintenance report. Not to mention the sensor issues and breakdowns that happened often.
That ship never of been anywhere near a warzone.or even at sea.

Wonderful day when Moskva sunk
The moskva ship is pretty good.
The only problem is that all good russian equipment is just not taken care that good and many problems arises from that.
If it was repaired properly then nothing like that could have happen..
The Neptune missile is based on the Soviet X35, which is a clone of the American Harpoon. х35 has been completely redesigned (only the body and the layout diagram remain)
The missile is equipped with a guidance system that captures a target at a distance of up to 50 km, resistant to radio-electronic warfare.
Ukraine's underwater drones I can't wait to see them target the Russian navy targeting submarines as well as Russian frigate destroyers 👍
Slava to Ukraine 🇺🇦
That could be difficult to attack a sub. I suggest that underwater drones like "Marichka" (thats the nice fat Ukrainian torpedo- like) are specially designed to attack Crimean bridge.
Speed 900 km/h not 300 kn/h.
Moskva was a 45 yrs old ship. Russian were happy she was still afloat.
The End.
Moskva was lost before the Cremlin started claiming anything hit by missiles was only “damaged” even when they were sunk
I have really enjoyed your content for a long time. Unfortunately RUclips's decision to demonetize Russel Brand over what are - at this point - mere allegations forces me to unsubscribe from every channel on RUclips. I wish you the best of luck and thank you for the content.
.....that doesn't make any fucken sense
I had the same thought. Once Rumble gets better I'm gone.
Yeah I thought that too. Later in the video they do say 900km/h.
Must be a mistake
It would also be worth adding that this missile is not entirely Ukrainian since it was created on the basis of the Soviet/Russian KH35 anti-ship missile
Great work of the Global Hawk
Russian cruisers are supposedly armed with the latest gen missiles that can hit threats between 10 meters to 25 meters. But if the Neptune can go that low (3 meters?!) well then no chance.
Russia has cruise missiles that destroy a ship of similar range much faster, except of course the KH35, which is the base for the Ukrainian Neptune.
Completely forgot about the warship’s ECM system that can jam missles and chaff and flare countermeasures that can distract at the very last moment of launched
ANTI MISSILE? This video was not double checked AT ALL.
Now it is a submarine Moscow ;))
inaccuracy is visible. "Osa" is not a vertical launch system. a launcher with two missiles extends from under the deck.
Ask the crew of Moskva how Neptune works.🤣🤣🤣
Can u please make an navy warships animation and also they're armament😊
