    Thanks so much for the great demo! I thought I had this figured out, but the knot would come out if I pulled too tight. Taking those little fluffy ends, folding them back over only the last pass of yarn and holding them there has changed everything and now my knots don't come undone! Great job!

    I rarely knit anymore but, I crochet alot and I cant tell you how happy I was to find this! Before this I would rarely crochet anything with multiple colors because of my ends would always come out! So I just stopped crocheting anything that was in more than 3 colors. Now I have learned this little trick and I am totally in love! I started a rainbow blanket! I feel more confident that my gift will not come undone in the wash. When the yarn gurus teach us things like the no ends knot or tips we have never heard of before, its giving you a gift as well, when it changes the way you do things you couldn't do before, its priceless! Thank you!

      Have you sussed the technique of changing colour before the last step of the previous stitch? It gives a much neater border between the colours.

    Took less than a minute to figure out how to do it and the result was probably more mindblowing than it should have been, haha. Thank you so much!

      Same here. My sister and I sat together yesterday afternoon and practiced about 100 knots and she yelped with joy every.single.time. Even the 100th!! It's so much fun and such a super trick!

    I couldn't quite see the last wrap. The one before you tuck the ends under. I'm watching on my phone so if it's not close up I'm out of luck. 😂 This looks like a great way to join the yarns. I hope I can figure it out. 👏🏻 Thanks so much.

    Yes its super easy and effective. Good for darning in ends when left with short ends that need to be lengthened. Thank you so much.

    Thank you so much Chris for your very clear and informative information. It was good to know which was the new yarn. I will be joining really thick yarns together, and then knitting two balls of yarn together at the same time...so this new idea,for me, is going to be a great boon. Thank you!

    Thank you. I’ve been trying to master this for quite awhile and the last part would leave me with a knot with a big loop stuck in it. So, your clear explanation of the last lil part of folding just over the last line helped me to capture it! Came out perfectly the first try! Thank you.

    Watched 3 different videos on how to do this. This the best one BY FAR! Only knot that, when I REALLY tested it, didn't break. Also super easy to follow and really well explained. Only advise is to full screen the video and watch it on a laptop, PC or TV, not a mobile. Some fiddly bits that can be a bit hard to see otherwise.

    I've been searching for a solution to multiple color changes when weaving on a frame loom using the continuous strand method, and, hooray! I found this wonderful video and method. Took a bit of practice, and the wrong end of a small crochet hook to tuck in the ends, but I've got it now, and I'm ready to tackle those tricky plaids. Thank you, Chris!

    I learned about this Magic Knot nearly a year ago, and have been trying variations on it that I've found around the internet ever since. Yours gives a slightly different twist from others I've seen. The only problem is, I haven't been able to get it to actually WORK - not ONCE. On the odd occasion when the knot actually does hold - which isn't often - I also end up with an extra loop that just won't pull tight. So much for invisible! I just wish I knew what I am doing wrong - it looks so simple! (I am a knitter with nearly 4 decades' experience, BTW - it's not as though I'm a novice!) I'll keep trying ... :(

    • @annwithaplan9766
      @annwithaplan9766 6 лет назад +4

      I had the same problem until now. I had only gotten it to work once and not after that. Well, I realized I was doing it wrong. I finally got it to work this time.

    • @BerlinerinToni
      @BerlinerinToni 3 года назад +1

      @@eileenwolf995 That's what I usually do too - a square knot or an overhand knot, depending on the yarn and the positioning. Since I still can't get this knot to work 99.5% of the time.

  • @royt7562
    @royt7562 6 лет назад +1

    I believe it's the same as Weaver's Knot or Magic Knot, just held differently. Those might be easier to follow, as they start on a flat surface. I've used it on socks with a gazillion ends.

    hi, tried 5x and the 'new' yarn stops pulling and I'm left with a little loop. when I pull on that the knot winds up on one piece of yarn only. when you 'tuck' the tails it is against your thumb, right?

    • @shesellsyarnmore7505
      @shesellsyarnmore7505 6 лет назад +2

      That was happening to me as well and I thought may be it was just because I was trying to do it with dishcloth cotton; but try folding the ends just over the last pass/loop of yarn and then only holding onto the ONLY ends when you pull your knot taught. I kept trying to hold onto the yarn itself and it wouldn't ever finish properly.
