I was a kid in 6th grade when GnR dropped use youre illusion i understood izzy was the Man the whole time i also understood that Gilby really held the glue together , possibly as good as anyone could for that lineup .
I feel he accented and backed up Slashs playing nicely and gilby jived well w the band and he gets hella respect in my book and hes def immortilized forever as a valuable member of GnRs live band

All they had to do was tell you, No Interviews beforehand, If they were so concerned about it..😕 It's called "Mutual Respect", Something vastly missing in today's generations... My Opine, Not Other's....😊

He's not an Axl cronie. Duff and Slash are sharholders of the brand so Axl had to let them back to get other business things.

He seems like a cool guy. I just feel sorry for him the way Axl treated him in the end. He was only a hired hand to finish out the Use Your Illusion tour, and that was it. Well, besides the Spaghetti Incident album. He never got to record original material with the band. I think he would've written some good songs with them.

Gilby is lucky. Seems like Slash wanted a not-so-flashy rhythm player back then like izzy, and gilby can only do basic solos really, pentatonic stuff. He's just for rhythm.

I miss him being in GnR. Dare i say it but i think guns n roses need a 3rd guitarist ONLY BECAUSE CHINESE DEMOCRACY SONGS HAVE AROUND 3 GUITARIST ON EACH SONG. I think chinese democracy, there was a time and this i love do great with 2 guitarists but song like madagascar need 3.
But Gilby gave such a good vibe and him,Slash and Richard fortus carry the same energy.

Too bad GnR didnt keep going and make an orginal album with Gilby. Axl ruined a great thing.
