I did the same thing to my 2022 TTS last week. Got rid of that “ suitcase muffler” on the car. I also had some black stainless tips installed on the car. My wife said it’s too loud, she can’t hear the stereo. ( I turn up the stereo now)I must admit it’s a bit louder than I wanted, but it sounds great. 👍
I just did this exact set up on my 2.0 TT today. Straight pipe from resonator back to new staggered dual outlet chrome rolled tips. Honestly it’s louder than I thought it would be. I don’t want to be “that guy”..: except to the neighbors we dislike. Only had it on local street so far, no highway. It grumbles a lot nicer. Sounds like a sports car, not a hair dressers car. Total cost was just over $200. I could have gotten it for $180 but the shop wasn’t local and not open Saturdays. Overall I give this mod an 8 out of 10... only because it’s a little louder than expected.
That's awesome!!! Glad you gave it a little more rumble!!! If you want to quiet it down a little bit you can also try a longer resonator. It will keep the growl but should lower overall decibels. Did you keep the stock rear diffuser or is that an upcoming mod???
Yeah if you want it just a little bit louder I def would suggest cutting just the muffler off. I did some more mods to my exhaust now, video coming sometime soon!!! Stay tuned!!! I appreciate the support fam!!! 😎😎😎
It was an ebay pickup. I searched the 2.5inch inlet to 3.5 inch outlets. They have a few different styles you can check out. I've seen ones with colored carbon and they look sweet as well. Hope this helps you out!!! 😎😎😎

I didn't actually weight the part but if I had to guess I'd say about 20lbs to 30lbs or so. There are many aftermarket ootions that can save some weight as well since they come with smaller mufflers most of the time. I have a few more mods I would like to do to fully finish it off. Stay tuned!!!
Mega4k Vlogz I was honestly just super salty after seeing a couple of people say this bullshit, I'm myself thinking of something like an mk2 TT. I saw a TTS for something like 16k. Do you have any recommendations or prices I should look out for?
I would try and get one that has the lowest amount of miles on it. The higher mileage ones tend to need alot of servicing and that's a decent amount of money wasted. I also would suggest getting a later model mk2 cause the earlier ones had a few kinks that they worked out by the time the later mk2s came out. Hope that helps you find one bro!!!

Mine was due to the aftermarket headlights. Typically the rear taillights have issues with the connector burning out. Very common issue with the mk2s and its not too hard of a fix. Thanks for the comments I appreciate the support!!!
Yeah it would be controllable as well. Ecs tuning makes a dump kit for the mk2s for around $90!!! It will most likely be a bit louder though since you're gonna be dumping right under your seats but would def have the same performance effect as you would be removing the muffler restrictions. Good question. I daily drive my car though so it has to pass inspection. Here where I live you have to have the cat because of the CEL I'll get if I decat it. I was working on a deal with a local company for a full exhaust from the cat back but it fell through. All the other performance exhaust kits for the 2.0tfsi TT involved a decat and new downpipe. I would then need a tune so to do a full exhaust and tune is almost $1600. I got better looking tips and a nice (not too obnoxious) sound for $220. I like your set up but man, please don't tell me you're pimping out the ride without any performance tune ups?! No downpipe + now you're losing combustion. Increase sound for a loss of gains :-/ Gen 2 TT S-line: Stage 2 apr ECU performance tune, apr intake, downpipe (factory catalyst), exhaust w/ cb tips, apr radiator, suspension kit (went cheap & regret it). Ascetically, ext. has blacked out audi symbols w/ powder coated wheels. Monitoring it's performance, I'm sitting at right under 300 at 93o.
How loud did it get when you removed the muffler? Like was it too loud, to the point where you regretted it? Also did you experience any droning while driving highways? I want to do this to mine, but I don’t want it uncomfortably loud

Ooohhh congrats!!! Welcome to the fam!!! This set up was just finding the tips I wanted. I then took her and got the muffler cut off and had a pipe bent to replace. Slap the tips on and it was good to go. I have changed it recently so new vids comings soon!!! Stay tuned 😎😎😎
I got them off an ebay seller but you can find many variations of these on there. I've seen a newer set that had colored tips and all that. You can search them based on the inlet diameter you need. Hope this helps you out. 😎

Haha yeah I love the way the quad tips look!!! However the stock engine setup in the 2.0t makes the quads not sound as good as they should. I wanted the sound more than the look so I stuck with the single exit setup. Yeah all I did was buy the tips I wanted and the exhaust place made me an axle back pipe. Very cheap and easy install. Def worth it for the sound you get. I have some more exhaust mods on the way though!!! She might be popping and banging come next season.
This actually sounds perfect. No need to remove cat. converter and risk failing visual check. And sound difference by removing cat isn't that significant in the first place. I was afraid if I delete muffler it will be too loud (not in a good way, but annoying), but this is great!
ok look you audi snob. you let the shop guys drive it but your friend whos been bugggggin for how many years (and been driving accident free for 20 years!) to drive it even that little bit isnt allowed? ok. ok i see how it is. lmao. seriously the exhaust is the ~perfect~ sound now. zero rasp. perfect low growl without being obnoxious. though im sure your neighbors just loved the rev battle lol. it matches perfectly with the diffuser and another unnamed part. the angle is unique and that lineup makes it look sharp as hell. great custom work and thats an amazing deal. i thought work like that, including parts, would be more expensive. so thats a win in my book. having heard it in person, and experiencing my own aftermarket exhaust, i know that love. it adds a whole new dimension to it and to driving!

Removing the muffler alone will not give you any codes. You will throw a CEL if you modify the cats. Once that happens you will be able to tune the codes out and everything will be good. The muffler itself doesn't throw a code nor give low pressure. Hope this helps you out 😎
I didn't dyno before and after so I can't answer for sure but I would say no it isn't a mod to add to the HP numbers. More so for the sound and also helps acceleration a bit beings the gases can escape faster. If you have a high boost car you will notice more of a difference when chopping the muffler.

Yeah you can straight pipe a dual exhaust no problem. The machine he used to bend the pipe was a regular pipe bender. It wasnt mendral bent. Mendral will keep the pipe uniform through the bend though where as the regular pipe bender will pinch the pipe reducing airflow. Mendral bent pipes are more expensive though.

You will have to check with your state laws. Here in PA you are required to have at least 2 forms of sound suppression on your exhaust. Example catalytic converter and resonator. On the stock TT exhaust there is one catalytic converter, 2 resonators and the muffler. I chopped the muffler off and left the other 3 forms of sound suppression so all is good here. I like the simplicity of just fabbing up a pipe and keeping the cat etc. Will save a bit of weight too.

This was with the stock downpipe and had the resonators still. Unitronic downpipe was installed after this video.

Ooohhh congrats!!! Welcome to the fam!!! This set up was just finding the tips I wanted. I then took her and got the muffler cut off and had a pipe bent to replace. Slap the tips on and it was good to go. I have changed it recently so new vids comings soon!!! Stay tuned 😎😎😎

I got them off an ebay seller but you can find many variations of these on there. I've seen a newer set that had colored tips and all that. You can search them based on the inlet diameter you need. Hope this helps you out. 😎

Hey thanks for the support!!! I got the diffuser from a guy in Poland. He was selling it on Ebay. I dont have a link because he only had one. You can find a similar one on ttstuff.com hope this helps you out. My car is a premium base model not a s-line.

Haha yeah I love the way the quad tips look!!! However the stock engine setup in the 2.0t makes the quads not sound as good as they should. I wanted the sound more than the look so I stuck with the single exit setup. This is version 1 being built and I have a version 2 that it will turn into next season most likely so stay tuned!!! 😁😎 I appreciate the support fam!!!

Yeah all I did was buy the tips I wanted and the exhaust place made me an axle back pipe. Very cheap and easy install. Def worth it for the sound you get. I have some more exhaust mods on the way though!!! She might be popping and banging come next season.
This actually sounds perfect. No need to remove cat. converter and risk failing visual check. And sound difference by removing cat isn't that significant in the first place. I was afraid if I delete muffler it will be too loud (not in a good way, but annoying), but this is great!
ok look you audi snob. you let the shop guys drive it but your friend whos been bugggggin for how many years (and been driving accident free for 20 years!) to drive it even that little bit isnt allowed? ok. ok i see how it is. lmao. seriously the exhaust is the ~perfect~ sound now. zero rasp. perfect low growl without being obnoxious. though im sure your neighbors just loved the rev battle lol. it matches perfectly with the diffuser and another unnamed part. the angle is unique and that lineup makes it look sharp as hell. great custom work and thats an amazing deal. i thought work like that, including parts, would be more expensive. so thats a win in my book. having heard it in person, and experiencing my own aftermarket exhaust, i know that love. it adds a whole new dimension to it and to driving!

I recently bought an audi tt without muffler, and it sound pretty SEXY!!! not even too loud, just sexy.
Yeah it def has a very nice tone to it. Not too obnoxious and not to silent like stock.

Removing the muffler alone will not give you any codes. You will throw a CEL if you modify the cats. Once that happens you will be able to tune the codes out and everything will be good. The muffler itself doesn't throw a code nor give low pressure. Hope this helps you out 😎

I didn't dyno before and after so I can't answer for sure but I would say no it isn't a mod to add to the HP numbers. More so for the sound and also helps acceleration a bit beings the gases can escape faster. If you have a high boost car you will notice more of a difference when chopping the muffler.

Hey welcome to the TT fam!!! I have a video dropping very soon with my latest mod that ive done to it. At this stage though in the video I only deleted the rear suitcase muffler. That’s crazy I just started watching ur vids because they are so relatable and I’m getting a res delete on my tt today 😂 how much was the muffler delete because I got quoted £400 for that ! But res is £60

Mega4k Vlogz I only got the one resonator.. think it’s something to do with being the s-line or something and I also have dual exhausts one each on either side.. I’ll post a short vid today don’t post much but yeh 👍🏼

What was that tool you used to bend the pipe ? and is it possible to straight pipe a dual exhaust?
Yeah you can straight pipe a dual exhaust no problem. The machine he used to bend the pipe was a regular pipe bender. It wasnt mendral bent. Mendral will keep the pipe uniform through the bend though where as the regular pipe bender will pinch the pipe reducing airflow. Mendral bent pipes are more expensive though.

Is this legal?
You will have to check with your state laws. Here in PA you are required to have at least 2 forms of sound suppression on your exhaust. Example catalytic converter and resonator. On the stock TT exhaust there is one catalytic converter, 2 resonators and the muffler. I chopped the muffler off and left the other 3 forms of sound suppression so all is good here.
