Let's be honest here, Tuxedo Mask's transformation is really underrated. In 90s we didn't get to see male transofmations a lot and for me it's nice and simple.
I'm currently 17, and I grew up watching the 90s series. My single father worked a lot and didn't really know how to play with a little girl, so most of the time I was sitting in my room watching it. This show helped build like 90% of my personality. It formed my morals, my perspective of "if it's scary or overwhelming, cry for a minute, but still do what you need to do," it formed my early ideas of love, platonic, familial and romantic, and the sacrifices you make in the name of love, and it was the first thing that taught me that women can be just as strong, if not stronger than men. It also set an example of what level of drama and danger should exist in movies and shows, although my views on that have changed with time. To this day, whenever people ask me what genres I like, I can't answer them right away, because this show formed what I like. Romance, drama, friendships that last a lifetime, but also action, excitement, and humor. One of the first things in TV that ever made me cry (I LOVE it when this stuff makes me cry) was when Usagi's friend Naru cradled the body of Queen Beryl's general Nephrite as he died. That was also the first thing that formed my idea of "if the person can feel love for anyone other than themselves, they're not entirely evil."
@@JesusChristMuslim I agree that the original series was made with so much love and care. I only hope I can one day create something so powerful. Although admittedly I was raised on the 1982 American Dub, so there were a few shortcomings when compared to the original Japanese
The cgi are the longest and look like they had a lot of love poured into them. Despite how goofy it looks but jupiters head symbol appears scene makes her look so god damn beautiful.
I like how the transformation rankings are all spread out for both the 90s anime and crystal. I've mostly just seen people put down the new transformations in favor of the old ones, so it was nice that this list didn't seem as biased towards the old anime! I wonder where you would've put the live-action adaptation transformations as I like those despite the small budget. Did you take Saturn's half-transformation in SMC S3 into consideration too? I know its a half-transformation but I honestly quite liked it xD
I did desperately search for a Saturn transformation that was a bit longer, so I might've seen it! I thought about including the live action ones, but it felt so unfair to put live action in a list being compared to animation. I would rather do a separate list just for the live action transformation! :D
Yes considering the original 1992 to 1996 series in Japan lasted for a WHOPPING 200 episodes though that's nothing compared to the 900+ ongoing Precure episodes and the transformations that go with it theirs also been 25+ ONGOING Precure movies in Japan as well.
Neptune’s first Crystal transformation is my favorite out of all them. I love how they chose to use blue sparkles that change her nails teal and the flower petal effect is gorgeous. Season 3 had really great art direction. Definitely the best version of her transformation. I also really love Venus’s 3D transformation in Crystal, her ribbons looked incredible and I think that it was a unique take, sad I didn’t see it on the list.
Sailor Star Lights. You really haven't seen the final season. As for the more "twiggy" look of Crystal, it's to match Naoko Takeuchi's artwork from the manga.
I have never seen a "ranking X things" video I agreed with more strongly. I especially appreciate the nod to Venus running her hands through her hair - that tiny detail has stuck with me for decades! also Uranus as the top non-Moon sequence, could not agree more
I genuinely would have been surprised if Moon Cosmic power wasn't top 3 tbh. Cosmic power is by far the moment. The way the heart wraps around to form her skirt and spark into effect. That LEG pose. The way her red ribbons form around her. They really just make her transformation this power of energy and grace. Everything about it says COSMIC.
Real talk, as I was finishing up this video I was like "This was fun! I should do this again next year for other shows! Oh, Pretty Cure is cute! Let's check that one out!" And then I realized it has like, well over a100 transformations!!! And then I was like "I would have to cap it off at 50." So maybe! :D
SAILOR STARS IS SO GOOD!!! Please go back and do a full watch, it’s probably my favorite season and for sure is the most memorable. Plus, everyone needs to encounter Seiya lol

I think a lot of people miss that Crystal is trying to match Takeuchi’s manga style much more than the 90s anime. She has twigs that don’t run on physics. The 90s anime was much less like that. I wonder if less people would harp on Crystal design choices if they knew this going in. (And like. Crystal did everything good except the eyes, imo)
Kinda surprised that Venus's 3d transformation didn't make it , it was the best of the bunch and easily top 5 for me , with cg holding it back from being either 1 or 2 .
The part of Sailor Moon that has the Starlights is widely considered to be the best arc of the anime (with some detractors), if you ever do a video that would warrant rewatching the anime in its entirety that would be a good opportunity. There are filler guides so you don't have to do all 200 episodes, but it's still a significant undertaking so I get it, plus I don't know how much you even like the anime as this is my first exposure to your channel Either way this is a good video and must have been a lot of work to both compile, individually rank all of these plus write the script so good job, I left a like

Same. In my opinion Venus had the best 3d transformation. As a matter of fact I'd dare to say it's her best transformation overall! Especially that shot where she's spinning with the ribbons on her body before it turns into clothing! And Jupiter's was great too! I loved how there's a pause when she lifts her pen before the thunder strikes and she starts her transformation!

I like to imagine that the magic does move them around during transformations and that's why they spin a lot. In some of them not all. Sailor Moon's OG one for sure is an example. The others mostly seem the other way around especially since they have a stick as their transformation item as opposed to a brooch.
You forgot Jupiter's and Venus's transformation from Crystal 1&2(they have the same animation and background) you also forgot Neptune's & Uranus's transformation from Sailor Moon Eternal(like venus and jupiter their transformation are really similar to the previous season, they have the same background and animation they just changed Uranus body effect and their costumes), and finally Eternal Sailor Moon transformation from the 90s anime(there is 2 versions of this transformation sequence) I totally agree with you for the Moon Cosmic Power transformation is my favorite 😍I can't wait to see the news transformation for the last arc🤞

As a huge fan of sailormoon series, these are my top 5 transmations that I think looks amazing in terms of visuals and execution. These five you can really feel the power they represent. 1.) sailor neptune 2.)sailor mars 3.) sailor uranus 4.) sailor jupiter 5.) sailor pluto
Funny enough I like Venus's transformations the most because It feels like a transformation the main heroine would have, which is super appropriate given her history. The only downside in my opinion is that her planet's associated element is meant to be metal, but due to her being Sailor V the motif focused on light still had to be there. I think her metallic ribbons in her crystal transformations were meant to reconcile that, Tto make it look like malleable metal

My favorite is by far Crystal 1 Sailor Mars, the colours are on point, she is the one looking the best on CGI specially on the Bluray, and what stand out the most against all others is definetly the music, this transformation has the best music after 90's outers theme.
This was so much fun to watch! I was a bit surprised with how high Tuxedo Mask's transformation got, but at the same time I'm not. Compared to the Senshi, Tuxedo Mask's transformation feels humble and down to earth, which I feel just suits his character.
Going into this video I didn't know what to expect but I feel like the criticism is fair. Obviously in the '90s they couldn't do as cool of effects as they can now, but they did do some cool stuff. I think for the Inners the Crystal Power transformations were the best, especially the group one in the SuperS movie where their symbols really pop against the background with their final poses. The version of Mercury Crystal Power from the Ami's First Love special is also really nice, and actually differs from the regular Crystal Power sequence for hers in some cool ways. Moon's best one was I think the Eternal Sailor Moon one, both the short one and the longer one. As for the Outers, it does stink that Saturn didn't really get one (though I think they kinda rectified this in the video games). But they do look cool. I agree the 3d models are a bit weird but it was a cool idea. I mean, personally, the Super outfits will always be my favorites (except for Saturn because having a unique broach is awesome), but I must agree that Sailor Moon's Cosmic transformation is by far the best transformation in the series. I remember as a kid watching it and loving all the moves she did inside the heart outline! Hey, perhaps you could make a ranked list of Sailor Moon attacks! For some reason, my favorite has always been Moon Spiral Heart Attack. It's an excessively long name (most attacks are 3 words long) but Sailor Moon spinning her body along with the wand then landing on her knees with hearts shooting out in a spiral is just perfection in my eyes. I do think I mostly watched the Death Busters arc as a kid, so that's likely part of my bias

By far my favourite Sailor Mercury's Transformation is from her special episode, Ami's First Love. Look it up! 😍 It's so different but familiar at the same time. I love all Venus' and Mercury's transformations, and hate every Chibi Moon's.

Sailor Moon - a classic 90s anime I grew up in my childhood
I mean, personally, the Super outfits will always be my favorites (except for Saturn because having a unique broach is awesome), but I must agree that Sailor Moon's Cosmic transformation is by far the best transformation in the series. I remember as a kid watching it and loving all the moves she did inside the heart outline!
Hey, perhaps you could make a ranked list of Sailor Moon attacks! For some reason, my favorite has always been Moon Spiral Heart Attack. It's an excessively long name (most attacks are 3 words long) but Sailor Moon spinning her body along with the wand then landing on her knees with hearts shooting out in a spiral is just perfection in my eyes. I do think I mostly watched the Death Busters arc as a kid, so that's likely part of my bias
I agree with number 1. Her Cosmic Power Make Up transformation in Sailormoon S is well animated and she's like dancing with all the turns while being enveloped in pink ribbons and pops of sparkly pink hearts.
Though did I miss you ranked Sailor Moon's Eternal transformation in Sailor Stars?

By far my favourite Sailor Mercury's Transformation is from her special episode, Ami's First Love. Look it up! 😍 It's so different but familiar at the same time. Well I'm glad you added Sailor Saturn Planet Power make up from the game lol also I think you forgot to add the original Eternal Sailor Moon transformation from the 90s anime lol
