    I recently got an EC1 Street Twin and have been enjoying your videos so much. Thank you!

    thanks for this! i was googling tail tidys and found the man cave latest version, stumbled on your comment for the NRC tail tidy and got to say this styling over the ability to put my phone under the seat all day long. Just ordered mone! thanks great tips especially about the flicker rate too. Literally had my street twin for 1 day and am now trolling the net for accessories

      Glad you found the vid useful. Still love my NRC tail tidy. I also got a seat from a company called Crafton Atelier that works with the NRC tidy, so I’ll make a vid about that soon - crafton-atelier.com/blog-ramblernrcedition/

  • @LadybugAdventures
    @LadybugAdventures 6 лет назад +9

    Of course it looks good! Do you think the visibility/brightness is adequate though? I realize the video may not show the true level of brightness. That is the neatest tail tidy I've seen

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад +2

      Thanks LBA 🙌 yeah good question - it’s pretty bright tbh. Possible even brighter than the stock unit. I had a tail light with integrated turn signals on my last bike and it was quite hard to see the yellow light flashing through the red, so that’s one thing that I liked about this tail tidy - the indicators and tail light are separate.

    • @LadybugAdventures
      @LadybugAdventures 6 лет назад +1

      MOTOBOB Good point. My friends also have the integrated and it looks good but the turn indicators are not as noticeable. Separate is more visible. Smart. Also I used to be concerned about legal lights etc but I find so many vehicle mods (car and bike) that are insanely illegal and the police are simply too busy or too sparse to care.

    Given that the Street Twin lacks any sort of storage under the seat, does that tail tidy include a small tray in the design...some of them don't and that subject originally was mentioned in the comments in Tony's video.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      No it doesn’t have a tray. It would be better if it did and I can’t see why that wouldn’t be possible looking at the design of the motone one. I guess it’s still not much space but it’s better than nothing

  • @dark0films
    @dark0films 6 лет назад +1

    Holy shit that looks amazing. It's so much sleeker than the original tail tidy. (And it's a lovely modern part for an old style bike)

      Cheers Will. Takes a while to build up the subs but will just keeping plugging away! What happened to the monster then?

    • @Willieswheels
      @Willieswheels 6 лет назад +1

      Your content is brilliant, honest and great quality so it'll come. Better to have engaged, responsive subs even if it's not a crazy high number I'd say! Monster had to go in Nov when I started working from home and we needed some cash for a house move. Eyeing up a forty eight or something from Triumph so I'm enjoying your updates mate

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      Yeah I agree - just enjoy chatting to people in the comments etc. And whenever RUclips’s algorithm likes one of my videos and starts promoting it to non-subs I get loads more shitty comments so sometimes it feels like it’s not worth it! Ah that’s a shame about the Monster - was a beautiful bike. The 48 is very fun - would love a harley one day but the triumph seemed like a better choice for filtering in town etc.

    • @Willieswheels
      @Willieswheels 6 лет назад +1

      Yea makes sense, I feel like the harley would be a little big, but I'm doing less town commutes now anyway. I'll see how she rides in a test! Luckily the Monster went to a close mate, so I hear about it all the time (maybe not so good as I'm suffering from sellers regret big time!)

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      Definitely recommend Warr’s if you’re looking to test a Harley. They’re super accomodating and they trick out their demo bikes with decent exhausts etc.

    Have you also raised up the rear suspension a bit as well?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад

      I think the preload is maxed out so it might be sitting a bit higher than stock

  • @patthewoodboy
    @patthewoodboy 6 лет назад +1

    you need to replace the rear shocks , sorts the back end handling big time .. I'm running Hagons with the adjustable damping £200 ... I think its not a legal requirement for a number plate light , but it is a requirement to have a rear reflector.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      You read my mind - my hagon shocks and progressive sprints got delivered the other day. Can’t wait to fit them as the bike bounces around quite a lot on London road surfaces. Yes I’ll get round to a reflector soon!

    how about in winter? does plate prevent mud? will rain or mud comes to your back (shirt, jacket etc)?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад

      Haven’t noticed but I don’t do much motorway riding, especially in the wet. I’d expect if that’s your thing, the stock setup would be better but maybe with a different light etc

    • @mehmetalganatilla9196
      @mehmetalganatilla9196 5 лет назад +1

      Well i love the back light and it looks tidy. I guess i m ok with splash :). Final thing, mancave says led turning signal works at a "normal" rate when engine starts. But i understand in your video, there is difference on flashing rate between rear led and stock front signal even the engine is running.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  5 лет назад

      You can use the i button to configure the bike for LED or regular bulbs. But the tail tidy is LED and stock regular. So you need to either leave both stock. Or convert both to LED

  • @bionickchief
    @bionickchief 6 лет назад +1

    Amazing, but what about the mud protector

    • @motobob

    Thanks for the video motobob! I wanted to do this mod on my Thruxton R but my one concern is in terms of visibility.
    Will larger busses and trucks see the tiny thin light? What are your thoughts after two years of using this?
    I really want to get this fender delete so badly for my bike but this is the one thing holding me back.

    Looks great but not sure about the indicators, think drivers will struggle to see them....

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      Yeah I understand what you’re saying. I had an integrated tail light on my last bike and it was rubbish because the indicator got lost in the red of the tail light. At least with this one the tail light and indicator are distinct. Maybe I will do a video showing it at distance if I get chance

    • @DickWhistles
      @DickWhistles 4 года назад

      Agree with Henry. I’m more concerned with the corners of your number plate obscuring the indicators. Same things happens on my Mutt with the Birmingham installed rear indicators. Perhaps using the plate light and lowering it would have been the better choice.
      How’d you nab such a slick garage in London?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      I think it should if I sort the plate light. Why do you think not?

    • @cloggsy1971
      @cloggsy1971 6 лет назад +1

      MOTOBOB I believe the indicators have to be a certain distance from the central red light? Saying that, I don’t know how that would affect the likes of the Harley 883 Iron?

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад +1

      I checked it out last year when I had an integrated tail light. As I read it, the distance thing is a manufacturing requirement but not MOT. But the integrated tail light would’ve failed because there’s a rule in the MOT that operation of lights can’t affect other lights, and the indicator flashing mixed with half of the tail/brake light. On this one, however, that’s not the case as the indicators are beside the tail light which was a big plus for me as they’re much more visible.

    • @johnrobertharland3975
      @johnrobertharland3975 6 лет назад

      MOTOBOB I've noticed that some cars with led headlight dim them when turning so you can see the indicators better. These seem to pass mot. I've got and integrated rear light on hoop of my bike and I'm looking to replace it with standard bulb indicators! It's a 1978 z650 so I think it's more in keeping. I'm considering a set of street twin indicators

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      You mean integrated as in the indicator flashes over the brake light?

  • @BuzzRadar
    @BuzzRadar 6 лет назад

    I have the same FEK and it’s awesome. But it’s not legal without additional indicators and a reflector.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      What makes you say that about the indicators? The distance? I thought that was a manufacturing requirement rather than MOT

    • @BuzzRadar
      @BuzzRadar 6 лет назад

      Hey MOTOBOB I had exactly the same setup initially and when it went in for service and guys who also did MOT’s said that integrating the break and indicator lights in one aftermarket unit would fail in the uk. So I added small led indicators on the shock mounts.

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      Hmmm that’s weird. I understand why it would fail if it was truly integrated because there are some tail units where the indicator is part of the brake light and it’s really hard to see. But on this one it’s distinctly separate and it’s pretty obvious which way you’re turning based on which side of the brake light it’s flashing from

    • @BuzzRadar
      @BuzzRadar 6 лет назад +1

      Totally get it, just telling you what an MOT guy and a copper told me :) I also got told to bend my FEK little down a little to make it a little more visible. It's not quite as slick but with little additional M gadget LED's on the shock mounts you end up with something 99% as cool, legal (i'm told) and it feels a hell of a lot safer :)

    • @motobob
      @motobob  6 лет назад

      Oh yeah I appreciate the info - just wondering what the rules are as I looked into it in quite a bit of detail. I get what you mean about bending it down. The LEDs are right on the edge of the seat for sure

      Yeah it’s pretty sweet innit! Someone else also recommended the bolt lights but the last time I had something like that on the ER6 it kept blowing when it got wet and I replaced it like 4 times. So I’d need to find something properly waterproofed...

    • @motobob
      @motobob  4 года назад

      Long story. But I nearly dropped the bike when it was on a jack and managed to catch it by the seat. That bent the tail tidy, so I had to order a new plate holder. When it arrived, they changed the design so that the plate light is integrated. So yeah I have the plate light now
