    Hi Tony, just found your channel a few days ago and have been following your vids. I find them very interesting and informative. I love all the Triumph retro stuff and I’m bolting on different stuff to the 2016 (air cooled) scrambler. You have shown me some very trick products and I’m loving your Street twin, it’s looking very cool with the nice and understated things you’ve done. New Rage also sells a Duel-Load Equalizer to go with this for $20. It slows the flashing rate back to stock by adding back the load you've lost with the removal of the stock relay.

  • @francesboy2
    @francesboy2 5 лет назад +3

    If you're curious as to how to mitigate hyperflash, you don't need to worry about buying a relay or whatever. Just hold the i button with the bike dead, and whilst holding that button turn on the ignition. On the LCD you'll be able to see 4 different modes. Cycle through the modes by pressing the i button, and hold the i button when on mode 2. The bike will cycle the fuel pump etc again and you won't have hyperflash.

    Is it at all possible to add a top box with a tail tidy (like this or similar)? I'm looking at the Givi Trekker Dolomiti Black 46lt. Hi James, as you would probably guess to keep the content coming there are parts going on and off the bike all the time. So it does change frequently. Its a great piece of kit, but it does give the bike a bit more of a modern look, and I thought probably wouldn't work with the aesthetic I was going for in the long run. Thanks for your encouragement, keep watching!

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 года назад

      The MOT rules are a bit 'grey' on this. There is a minimum mandatory seperation of 180mm, so these would meet that requirement.....just. But the MOT guidance goes on to say "There is no requirement to measure the separation distance and they should only be rejected if the separation distance is obviously incorrect". So I guess it's down to how nice the MOT tester is?! Yes, they'll fit on a street Cup. I removed mine as although it was clean, I didn't like the look. Just a personal preference

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 года назад +1

      There is a minimum separation distance of 180mm, but it’s a bit of a grey area as the MOT manual states that “there is no requirement to measure the separation distance and they should only be rejected if the separation distance is obviously incorrect” so I guess it’s down to how nice the MOT tester is?!

    Hi Tony,
    Is it possible to fit the fender back on with the tail light segment in place? I want to keep the fender (ditch the stock tail light and 3D print a billet to fill that indent) and have an LED array tucked up under the seat. It looks like it would be a tight fit.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  7 лет назад

      Hi Nicolas, not with this tail tidy unfortunately. The stock fender has recess mouldings so that it sits up under the frame rails. You could probably use it but with some very considerable modifications. In this case you may as well look for one of the flexible LED tail light strips that are available

      Not sure if you've already solved this issue, but as part of the ECU you can set it to mode 2 or B (can't remember the nomenclature) and that fixes the hyler flash.
      To do this, hold the i button when the bike is off, turn the ignition to on and you should see on the LCD the different modes. Cycle through them pressing the i button, and hold that button when on mode 2/B.

      There can be an issue with some after market lights. The stock ones send a signal back to the ECU if they fail and it throws up the warning light. The remedy it to fit a resistor inline on the aftermarket ones to stop this. Contact BC who should be able to sort it for you

    Hey tony. Just added the nrc fender eliminator for my 2018 triumph street twin. Everything according to how you said but heres the issue. The indicators work but the brake light doesnt. I connected the stock after that and the brake light wont work on that either now. Just the indicators. Any suggestions?
    Oh and the led license plate light doesnt work either.

    Thank you for the great useful videos.
    I´m thinking about ordering one of these kits. Can you please tell me if any extra fees relating customs were paid upon arrivel of the kit to the UK? I´ll be ordering from Portugal, and will have to consider the price if any custom fees are added to the kit.
    P.S: Would love to see this kit being used with the brat track flat seat mounted on the Street Twin.
    Thanks again for the videos man.

      Ricardo Silva Hi Ricardo, I did have to pay some tax, but not a lot (about 5% from memory?)Unfortunately I can't help with any info on the situation for Portugal. Thanks for your comments, glad you like the videos!

    min distance apart for MOT is 180mm for indicators, that'll be from the innermost edge of the indicator.

      @mancavemoto  7 лет назад

      Hi John, thanks for this. I'm not suggesting this is wrong, but can you confirm where this measurement comes from as i cannot see any rule about distances in the MOT testers manual?

      page 6a3/1 I personally wouldn't worry about it as the light looks really good and pretty much stock, plus when was the last time you saw the old bill or an MOT tester get a tape measure out! ;)

    13:10 - Try soldering a 1KΩ resistor on each channel (left and right indicators). This should solve the fast blinking problem.

    • @maximusmax4557
      @maximusmax4557 5 лет назад

      If doesn't blink fast when the bike is actually running, I'd see no need to dink with resistors. Personally, I've never had much use for my turn signals with the engine off!

      It's the integration element. I think there's meant to be a gap between the rear position / brake light and indicators.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  6 лет назад

      Hi Colin, I’ve heard that mentioned before, but there is nothing at all about spacing in the MOT test regulations;
      “Statutory indicators
      The precise position and angle of visibility of direction indicators are not part of this inspection, but they must be on each side of the longitudinal axis of a solo machine.

    • @mancavemoto
      @mancavemoto  3 года назад

      They should do, aren't they 210mm by 130mm? The plate I fitted to this was 180mm by 130mm, and USA motorcycle plates are 180mm by 100mm. So I thought i'd check the New Rage site and found this "Our license plate bracket is constructed from aluminum, black powder coated, and tucks up underneath your Street Twin, providing a very clean finish, as well as giving you extremely bright LED signals! Accomodates both US and EU license plates"
