Great reveal as always! I can't wait to see the rest of the big reveals! I just started completing my first set. I was inspired by you to try to complete my favorite insert set of all time, the 1997 hoops basketball high voltage set, all in PSA or SGC slabs. So far, I've gotten the Garnett, the Duncan, and the Kerry Kittles! 3 of 20!
Nice! I love the Duncan and MJ in that set but every single card is nice. Keep an eye out for the parallels #d out of /500 as well! SGC is running a $12 per-card special on basketball right now also if you find them raw.
I love that 1995 Jerry Rice - fun nostalgic card there. Great to hit a 10 on a card like that. 9 on the Penny Beam Team is good too - tough to hit a 10 on that bad boy. Fun stack of cards overall as always - well done!
You may be right about the Glenn Robinson black refractor being min size, but there’s something odd about the case if you look at it. There is no frosted texture on the bottom and the entire slab is just open. The little internal guard rails are also pushed way to the extreme edges of the case. This creates a bigger internal space inside the slab, allowing the card to sort of freely, move around and rotate within the slab. This may be creating a bit of an optical illusion to make the card look smaller than it actually is. I am not sure why PSA does this to some cards, but it happened to one of my 89 upper deck Griffey Jr rookies, and they claimed that they do that sometimes if the card was manufactured slightly too big, but still within an acceptable tolerance to grade. I was not a fan of how the slab allowed the card to move freely inside so I ended up selling the card. Just a watch out on that Glenn Robinson!

Hey LV, awesome reveal vid! Curious: Did any cases have those “flow line” hair line fractures on the inside corners of the cases? Hard to tell from the vid, but was curious. I heard they are potentially reverting back to their older slabs until they find a solution.
I’m good if they revert back to the old slab until they fix that flow line 👌 I’d say 20% of this order had those flow lines. For example that Luka and Kristaps had noticeable ones top right. I hope they fix it cuz I really would love the new slabs if it didn’t have that blemish. Thanks for the comments! LV

Two questions: First, I can't remember so I'm asking for a buddy, but do you actually have the Lebron, Melo and Wade for your 03-04 Black and Gold refractors sets yet? Also, since 1990's inserts are proving more and more to be unicorns in 10's, do you ever just consider hoarding your condition-sensitive 90's inserts in PSA 9's? The registry is going to catch up on some of these sets and I believe 9's have to go up if we are patient as sellers. I mean these cards are bricked in boxes now and even in collections. Non-bricked inserts and base are wrecked/chipped straight from the pack, even back in the 90's as the sets were so prone to damage. I have 1998 refractors sticking to sleeves so bad it's peeling of the top coat even after being coddled for 25 years. I'm hulking cards when wiping them and/or simply having them in Card-Savers waiting for grading that I've had for 25 years as well. Cards with film-like surfaces are peeling back - but are part of the design and the petroleum-based plastic is either deteriorating by simply breaking down from the elements or chemical interaction with the sleeves & loaders. Were finding out what time does to 1990's stuff and it isn't kind. I had 2 Stadium Club Griffey inserts deteriorate right in my hands - one from 2001 Diamond Pearls... the surface is just evaporating and peeling... 1997-98 UD3 Rookie Portfolio Duncan, the top surface is just coming apart from the rest of the card. One of the 1990's Clear Cut sets seems to be deteriorating as well. Also I have several Chrome's in old slabs that have greened since, while sitting in dark closets forever. Great stuff, LV!
Yeah, that Emmitt ultra was a mint 9 all day 😔 So, I do have the lebron, Melo, Wade in the black set 🙌 But I don’t have any of them in the gold set. Not sure my bank account will ever let me afford those ugh. But still fun to try and build the set the best I can :) And I totally agree, 90’s insert especially chrome and finest are starting to break down, eventually 9’s will gain the respect they deserve 👍

@@505memorabilia I hear that and everyone since the boom thinks 9's are bad... But they don't know what we know about the era! I hear that logic entirely though. I'm rolling the dice on a bunch of 1990's BK soon. I may just hold some of the 9's for a while. You make a good argument for waiting to grade though based on that fact. They kind of are L's in people's minds. For now!
I think it’s still worth it taking a wash getting the 9’s because you still will get some gem 10’s sprinkled in and that will be your profit 🙌 Just make sure value of them in a mint 9 is at least the grading fee 👌
PSA has monthly grading specials 👍 For this particular one, it was 1980 to present for only $15.99 per card, but the special ended mid June. You should check PSA’s site July 1st to see their new specials. Thanks for watching! 🤙

Thanks! Yeah, that Rice card is hard to price. It’s really cool and #/750 which was low for the 90’s but it’s collector’s edge brand so who knows 🤪

I think 1990's 9's have to go up in value even in cheaper insert sets. Everything back then is condition sensitive if you think about it.
@blixcards I just feel like when I grade 80s/90s cards anything less then 10 is an L best case I break even. But I don't disagree with you 🤘🤘
