Just wanted to let you know your videos are still helping younger gun owners 10 years later. Planning to buy this same charging handle for my 10/22 build and am confident I’ll be able to install it thanks to you. Thank you for the excellent content sir!
Nice install! your becoming a pro, I love that you show the full vid with no edits, I don't think I ever changed something out without having a few bumps (or bangs) in the road, wait till I put up my gas block install vid, I had to break out a power drill!
This is a whole new meaning to "Torture to watch, and using a srewdriver to pry out the bolt is down tight painful, plus it looks like the receiver and bolt never had any lube.
Hey, the white one is actually the standard weight spring, while the unmarked spring is the lighter one for subs. Or it was in mine anyway. They list them in the instructions. Thanks for the video!
Nice work. Now you have me wanting one. I replaced the hammer with a Volquartsen unit and that really helped with the horrendous trigger pull weight that mine had from the factory. Thanks for sharing.
I purchased a bunch of Kidd stuff a few months back. Stainless match barrel, charging handle, bolt buffer. Also purchased a Boyd's Tacticool stock. She does indeed shoot like a dream now. But she's a heavy girl now- should have known with that match barrel! Though I was a bit skeptical after installing all that after-market stuff- she shot really well and I'm a happy camper :^)
Once you pull the bolt handle all the way all you need to do is turn the receiver over and the bolt should drop right out. Do not try to take the bolt out at an angle. Same when you put it back... straight in.. NO angle.. Peace out :)
Believe it or not I'll put the trigger kit in next (off camera).I like all his products, quality stuff and even I can install it :) Yeah, those bull barrels are hefty :)
It feels better in the hand for sure.Ruger makes a good product but no frills. But they're tough products. I've only broken a sight with that hammer :)
That is interesting. I will have to check them out, that charging handle looks great and the extra recoil springs will come in handy. Thanks for the info.
I installed one of these about a year ago. One of my favorite upgrades. I threw the lighter spring in and shoot the hell out of some remington sub sonics. Crazy accurate, reliable, and quiet.
You're too kind, lol. It's live tv over here. Click on his link and have a look at some of his stuff, it's quality stuff. I've thought about a Volquarzen but now I'm thinking(believe it or not) of trying out KIDD's trigger kit. I'll have to disassemble the whole trigger group but not on camera, lol. :)
Thanks for sharing. You'll love it even if it is a bit of a hassle at times to install. While you have it apart you might as well use some 400 grit and sand the bolt and receiver and polish it up little with a chrome mag polish like Mothers. It'll make the action smoother.
That bolt just fits in there. I needed one more finger in the mix so I could drop it straight down. I'm going to put a trigger kit in one but you'll only be able to see the results not the installation :)
It does pain me a little to watch, but I am rootin you on the whole time. Some guys give a gunsmith too much business and I like to see you do it yourself, that way you know how it works. My wife has always wondered why I take every gun apart as soon as I get home with it, I tell her I want to see what makes it tick. Have a good day. She is pretty good at taking them apart herself, for a girl I mean. :))
*OH NO... NOT THE DREADED SCREWDRIVER!* Brother, you had more struggles than a Ken doll at a pecker rubbing contest. I must admit, you are a BLAST to watch. You are SO down to earth, you make me smile.
I have springs and plugs flying all over my living room all the time, and that is just when I break down my 1911 for cleaning. I am not taking things apart down to the level you do if I did I would be afraid to fire the weapon. LOL
I'm putting in a new trigger, bolt buffer, charging handle and extended picitinny rail on top. I'm a pretty competent guy with guns so I have no worries
ty 4 video I have a question I cleaned my rifle the other day and when I went to reassemble the factory guide rod assemble the charging handle flew out and there is no videos on how to put it back together can you help me ty
My hands are getting that bad too so there's NewSpring really help for using sniper subsonic ammo? I replaced the buffer with a polyurethane buffer it's still too loud I was thinking the same thing getting a different spring and charging handle
ZombieMasterEd25 The handle works well on sub sonic to a point. Very low subsonic still have a problem cycling.I don't remember where that point is. First to go is the memory :)
no,you never leave the house, but will compete with several people also competing.how did you control your bullshit anxiety, and panic attacks.also your 5 3in how did you walk.telling detective, your unable to really walk.
haven't been.someone is using my name and is now fucking with a guy you don't want to mess with.you wanna blame someone, try pbso for not stopping this 4 years ago.
go fuck yourself.I have left you alone.these people played you on here.making you think im this one, that one.dude,it aint me.I have a life,I work,as for mine and jp s job.try a ridealong sometime, then question? I bet you will be speechless, and scared shit.
Thanks so much for the real life video. Piece of cake after watching your video. I also enjoy videos without All the crazy music playing in the background, unless it’s Merle Haggard or David A. Coe. Thanks!
Suggest you better plan ahead what kind of tools you need before any dismantling or installation. Besides, I really concern about your shaking hands ... are you nervous ?
Yeah, I never plan these vids, always spur of the moment. My hands I've dealt with for decades because I refuse to take medicine they have for it now, I don't trust the VA.
@@MyHollowpoint Thanks for answering my little comment ! I'm sorry for your hands and don't say you don't trust medicine, its for your own good ! Perhaps, you can try some other means of treatment like accupuncture or herbal medicine ... Take Good Care of yourself ... I wish you can !
Shoulda made a pie video instead, lol. I bought another 10/22 the other day, you should hear it. Been into it but didn't check to see where the noise was coming from. I'll fix it or tear it up trying :)
Do you use WD40 to lube your rifle? It leaves a lacquer coating when it dries and gums up pins and other thing in the action. It is a water dispersement not a lubricant. Worked in a gun shop and people would bring in old guns that had a red tint to internals. They would say my gun don't work no more. I'd say you use WD40 don't you. Thank God we had a ultra sonic cleaning tank.
Some how my guns know when I turn the camera on :) This didn't begin the way I wanted it but finished in good shape, lol. I'm all about truth in journalism :)
I'm full of arthritis, do what I have to do to shoot my 10/22 at the range, Never give up Myhollowpoint, great video, look for more of them ,thanks for your time, and your patience making this video,,Nova Scotia Canada
easy talking about charging handles you will get Eric excited, now all you need to do is sekd me the receiver and let me polish it for you and that thing would cycle primers only with that low recoil spring, nice stuff
Just wanted to let you know your videos are still helping younger gun owners 10 years later. Planning to buy this same charging handle for my 10/22 build and am confident I’ll be able to install it thanks to you. Thank you for the excellent content sir!
Thank you! That's why I left my channel up. :)
Nice install! your becoming a pro, I love that you show the full vid with no edits, I don't think I ever changed something out without having a few bumps

Anyone that shakes like that that does their own gunsmithing is my hero. :)
Yeah, it ain't easy but I always get it done :)
Hey, the white one is actually the standard weight spring, while the unmarked spring is the lighter one for subs. Or it was in mine anyway. They list them in the instructions. Thanks for the video!
It's been so long ago I don't remember :)
Loved this video. It took the time to show how things work, even when they dont go smooth. Very informative. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, with these hands everything is a struggle :)
Nice work. Now you have me wanting one. I replaced the hammer with a Volquartsen unit and that really helped with the horrendous trigger pull weight that mine had from the factory. Thanks for sharing.
It can hardly be and uncle Chuck vid without the hammer. Kidd makes some great aftermarket parts for the 10/22.
On my 10 22 the magazine release pin and the bolt release pin always fall out, nice upgrade for a 10 22.
Once you pull the bolt handle all the way all you need to do is turn the receiver over and the bolt should drop right out. Do not try to take the bolt out at an angle. Same when you put it back... straight in.. NO angle.. Peace out :)
Erik D Yep. First time doing anything is always a bitch for me.
I just got my new Kidd parts and this is the first video I pull up to watch. YIKES !!!
If I can do it anybody can do it. That's the point :)
I have a .22 caliber rifle that has been disassembled for a year because I can't compress and hold the spring. Taught me a lesson!
Thats a nice looking charging handle. Can't wait to see the gun all together.
I'm adding that to my list of things to do to my 10/22!! Thanks for sharing!!
Believe it or not I'll put the trigger kit in next (off camera).I like all his products, quality stuff and even I can install it :) Yeah, those bull barrels are hefty :)
That'll be the next video. Just couldn't wait to put this charging handle on it. Kinda wished I'd have waited :)
Thanks for posting this video. I got zero instructions from Kidd, and your video was very helpful.
Matthew Humphrey It’ll be easier with steady hands. You’re welcome.
It feels better in the hand for sure.Ruger makes a good product but no frills. But they're tough products. I've only broken a sight with that hammer :)
You put that thing back in easier than I've ever done it!
That is interesting. I will have to check them out, that charging handle looks great and the extra recoil springs will come in handy. Thanks for the info.
Yep. Gotta keep both eyes open once the trigger group comes out for sure. They're sneaky about it too :)
I installed one of these about a year ago. One of my favorite upgrades. I threw the lighter spring in and shoot the hell out of some remington sub sonics. Crazy accurate, reliable, and quiet.
I love this video. Man, you're killin' me.
I learned something, I learned to be happy with my stock charging handle.lol You've got way more guts than I my friend. :)
That and an old nail (or recoil rod) is all you need. That and steady hands like mine :)
When the camera is on the panic that comes over you doesn't help one bit, lol. When it finally comes together is where the reward is :)
Parts fly here too. Matter of fact there's a spring from a Rossi still laying around here somewhere :) That first shot is sometimes hesitant :)
LOL ! ... You take gunsmithing to a different level , and always succeed . Good job !
I struggle with removing the bolt on my 10/22 also Chuck, you're not alone my friend
Good job. Bet you'll love that new handle. That thing should be sweet with a suppressor. Better than TV. lol
Check them out. I've bought several items from them and they are always quality built and work perfect......when I finally get them installed.
Looks like a nice charging handle. I hate the stock one. If I can ever find some dang .22 ammo, I might get one myself.
Bought the same charging handle, gonna install it today.
Thanks for sharing. You'll love it even if it is a bit of a hassle at times to install. While you have it apart you might as well use some 400 grit and sand the bolt and receiver and polish it up little with a chrome mag polish like Mothers. It'll make the action smoother.
KIDD has all kinds of nice parts for 10/22's. They're not hard to put in, I just make it look that way :)
Yes indeed they do! My hammer is my go to tool. It may not fix the problem but I get rid of a lot of stress, doing nothing can be stressful ;)
Thanks for the education....I wondered how those things go in...Thanks!!!!
That bolt just fits in there. I needed one more finger in the mix so I could drop it straight down. I'm going to put a trigger kit in one but you'll only be able to see the results not the installation :)
Thats a great Charging handle...my buddy has one on his 10/22..ITs great! good job Chuck
Charging handle looks much better, good thing companies make quality products for ruger since ruger doesn't go for fancy over plain jane.
I couldn’t watch this for more half before I had to go another video.
Howard Paul You should see it from where I’m sitting :)
It does pain me a little to watch, but I am rootin you on the whole time. Some guys give a gunsmith too much business and I like to see you do it yourself, that way you know how it works. I hear you there.
Hope yours goes a lot smoother than mine, lol. :)
Thank you for making this video. Made my install a lot easier!!
At least you knew what to expect :)
That is a nice charging handle...looks easy to install for a competent adult.
*OH NO... NOT THE DREADED SCREWDRIVER!* Brother, you had more struggles than a Ken doll at a pecker rubbing contest. I must admit, you are a BLAST to watch. You are SO down to earth, you make me smile.
It's a struggle but I've got to prove to myself I can do it, lol.
You do fine. Keep on keepin' on. I'll watch your videos.!
You could indeed, they've got it all.
Thanks, made the install easy for me!
If you have steady hands you've got it made :)
Good job.Going to check them out.
I have springs and plugs flying all over my living room all the time, and that is just when I break down my 1911 for cleaning. I am not taking things apart down to the level you do if I did I would be afraid to fire the weapon. LOL
Nice upgrade!
Thank you. These upgrades are always a struggle but I get them done :)
We're working on a video for Tandemkross. Doing some research first. Miss your videos, hope all is well.
Jesus comes through for you in the clutch again. Amazing he had time, what with all those football games on today.
Humm .. what are you building???
Way to go Buddy
Good job mate 👍🏻
Thank you, it's always a fight for me :)
Nice tutorial bro! I'm doing this project today
DEAD WINTER Really nothing to it, I just make it look difficult. Big improvement over the stock. You'll enjoy it.
I'm putting in a new trigger, bolt buffer, charging handle and extended picitinny rail on top. I'm a pretty competent guy with guns so I have no worries
Lets meet half way and just hold each other!
Thanks for the how too!!
Not the easiest with old hands but I got it done :)
Good job. I'm guess the other guns in your safe told that Ruger to cooperate or he would get the Big Hammer. :)
ty 4 video I have a question I cleaned my rifle the other day and when I went to reassemble the factory guide rod assemble the charging handle flew out and there is no videos on how to put it back together can you help me ty
+Daniel Gonzalez You just have to struggle till you get it in there. Has never been easy for me either.
I like it better than the stock one. It's usually an ordeal for me but I always win in the end :)
MyHollowpoint i just got home from my first competition i got 9/15th place got some cool goodies

He always does and I've been in some tight clutches in my time :)
It's always a bumpy road with me but I get to my destination :)
Thanks so much for the real life video. Piece of cake after watching your video. I also enjoy videos without All the crazy music playing in the background, unless it’s Merle Haggard or David A. Coe.
Thanks!
You’re welcome. They never go smoothly unless they edit 😁
I've lost my fear of these great little rifles because of making these vids. It's therapy, lol. It's the real world or my world anyway :)
Some of my best work :)
Thanks for video buddy!
+Peter Newman I do these things unrehearsed and they always go south but it's the real world :)
Thanks for watching. These gunsmith video's of mine never go the way I plan them but the job gets done :)
It's already built by Ruger....with ATI parts :)
Nice Job Bro!
That was about as fun as watching a 45 minute nutnfancy video.:)
Suggest you better plan ahead what kind of tools you need before any dismantling or installation. Besides, I really concern about your shaking hands ... are you nervous ?

My integrity has already been compromised. I visited your channel over two years ago! LMAO! :))
I think a little lubrication might help the whole process.... It sounds painfully dry
Yep, I'll get it.
Shoulda made a pie video instead, lol. I bought another 10/22 the other day, you should hear it. Been into it but didn't check to see where the noise was coming from. I'll fix it or tear it up trying :)
Lol! This is educational tv, Robbie. Someone may learn something and I learn a whole lot :)
Having never done it that is some good news!
I swear to God I have a video in the can where everything went smoothly. Don't miss it,lol. :)
I think the white spring is factory, and the uncolored is subsonic.
www.kiddinnovativedesign.com/KIDD-Recoil-Spring-Replacements_p_123.html
I keep them all along with the card because I'm forgetful :)
There are several different types out there, just have to find the one that's right for you. Can't help you on the .22's. :)
Is the white coated spring closest to the standard Ruger spring?
Yes. I bought this kit to be able to fire sub sonic but none of the springs will allow it to cycle sub sonic.
You'll like their products. Quality parts. The problems were on me not them :)
Mr. Hammer I've got to slowdown I've been through 2 1/2 years in less than a month, dang I'll run out 😢
One of us will need some relief :)
You da man Chuck! Good job! :))
I love my Rugers, but I've done a heep of cussing while tinkering on my semi auto rifles and handguns from them. You are my hero! =)
Never heard of that outfit before.
No I use Ballistol. WD40 is good for a lot of things but guns isn't one of them.
I got a hammer and duct tape, I don't need no stinking drift punch!
I hate wasting the time practicing and it shows, lol. I'll be making more shooting video's but their just as bad :)
I like this video and charging handle, thank you for sharing. I’m going to install one on ours :-)
This charging handle is a lot more comfortable than the stock handle. You'll love it.
I like taking chances. None of that OSHA crap here. You know I did :) The struggle is the fun part :)
Lol! It only happens when I turn the camera on :) These things don't scare me anymore. Trigger kit is next :) (but you'll only see the results)
RAW AND UNCUT! lol. I'll be waiting to see your vid :)
I appreciate the kind words but don't compromise your integrity :)
Some how my guns know when I turn the camera on :) This didn't begin the way I wanted it but finished in good shape, lol. I'm all about truth in journalism :)
you done all right guy, thank Jesus,,,lol
It's easy when I don't turn the camera on. OK, that was a lie, it's never easy but I get it done :)
I'm full of arthritis, do what I have to do to shoot my 10/22 at the range, Never give up Myhollowpoint, great video, look for more of them ,thanks for your time, and your patience making this video,,Nova Scotia Canada

Don't worry, I have my share of Fubar moments!! If can go wrong it will when I'm trying to do something that's easy for everyone else!!
