- This Cub Cadet mower I bought at Home Depot cuts great, but the ride rattles your body. Here’s how to eliminate the bumpy ride of this Zero Turn riding lawnmower by upgrading the seat suspension. Here’s the link to the aftermarket suspension kit I installed.

I put this on my cub cadet as well. I just want to say that not only is it a game changer but the company is great. They offer spacers for my mower and I ordered 4 instead of 8. They have since shipped me an extra 4 at no cost. Well worth the investment on mowers and a great company.
got this kit for my zt1 50". It is a must have. It's spendy but I don't regret it at all as the ride is incredible. Totally recommend it.
Great installation video!
I would have used a hole saw to cut the rubber spacers. Nice round spacers with a hole in the middle for the bolt. 👍🏻
This is the premium, best solution to ride quality issues, along with proper tire inflation. I'm Sure your ride is transformed. Pretty affordable addition to a mower that's cheaper than everything in its class. I'm adding one to my zt3 60, for my wife. She's a real lead foot... Lol.
Awesome. Thx for the video. Excellent info. I needed to do this because my Vevor tractor replacement seat for my Cub Cadet RTZ L 54 “ zero turn has a different seat connector. Easy remedy and I can always reattach bus bar if ever want to attach factory seat and sell it.
Took 5 seconds to remove and it does the job. Thx

@anthonya8412 I have a Cub Cadet RTZ L 46 Honda. Do you think this seat suspension kit will fit? Do I need anything xtra to make it fit? Thanks
Update. For the ultima zt3 60 this kit is plug and play, if you raise the harness around the battery, cut it to run your seat wire through the round hole and splice after installation. No spacers are required for the zt3 60.
It's a different seat than the zt1 and this kit completes an already decent ride to make it outstanding.
My seat foam was so stiff, I couldn't mow comfortably with it. Replaced the foam, and the blocks with normal springs. I also inflated the rear tires to 5psi, and the front to 7. I have no issues, only 23 dollars later.
Thank you, great video.
I just installed this today on my ZT2 50" ~This is perfect as the ZT1 & the ZT2 have 0 suspension in there frame or Front tires. They GAVE me 8 free 3/4" Spacers I just had to pick up 1 3/4" bolts.
Legit video! I love modding these mowers but I probably should have just bought the ZT2 lol after all the $$$!
I have the ZT2 and it is still a rough rider. I just ordered a spring kit that is supposed to ride on top of the rear seat rubber boots. I am just saying, don’t regret your decision.
For the money Trac seat should at least put in spacers and nuts and bolts to make the change.
So the seat being raised like 4” isn’t an issue?
Great idea!👍🏽
Would like to see details on seats with extension
A 1 1/2” or 2” hole saw bit might make easier work of the rubber spacers you made. Thanks for sharing this. Is it really worth $180? Did you try the cheap spring under seat trick first? If so I’m curious the difference.
Great job, and how is the improvement?
Great video. Not really a criticism, as much as just an observation, but I have watched a lot of these videos and surprised how many people refer to bolts as "screws" Again, not a big deal, because we know what is meant, but still kind of funny.
looks like it raised the seat a considerable amount
My first ride on mine was so ruff I couldn't go full speed. My back hurt and I was bummed out. Before the next mow I checked the air pressure in the tires. The max air pressure on the back tires said 10psi. It had about 32psi!! I let all that air out, got it down to about 8psi. HUGE difference I could now full speed and my back was not tore up afterwards. Don't know if Home Depot over filled them or cub cadet. Turfing seems not as bad also.
Same here, checked and re aired my tires and it made a huge difference in the ride, much more pleasant after letting a lot of air out
The tires are overfilled for shipping purposes.
Yea the manual says the tires are over inflated for shipping purposes. Most grass rats don't read the manual haha
PSA - max weight for that suspension kit is 275 lbs...
You should have shown us how it actually worked as you mowed. How do the horizontal springs work as opposed to vertical springs?
⬆ This.
fwiw, there are many other videos demonstrating how this exact seat works floating around RUclips
Surprised that after I got my ZT1 50" home I discovered there's no fore-and-aft adjustment for the seat, so both my wife and I can mow. Her legs are shorter than mine. Both of my John Deere Garden Tractor mowers have such an adjustment. One of those curve balls that I didn't think to investigate before buying.
yet the slides from a zt4 bolt right onto the zt 1, they come in a kit part number SI-110691PS
Looks like the same suspension seat kit that’s on the kubota’s
Maybe use a hole saw to cut the rubber next time?
What did you use for your spacers?
You are kidding, right? He went over it carefully.
RUBBER (purchased at local hardware store) and washers.
Wish it was air ride!! ; )
Two Harley style springs on the rear of the seat are far cheaper and do the same thing.
I did the Harley springs Still rides like a tank springs give no movement and Im 240LBS
seat suspension and mulching kit for this mower are a total FAIL
Looked at Cub Cadet, bought a Toro with MyRide, problem solved.
Wish it was air ride!! ; )
