Thank you so much for your tutorials .You explain very well.I’m a beginner and most of my work it’s from the you tube tutorials especially the boarders I wasn’t sure if I had to join pieces of fabric or have to do whole piece.
Wonderful Teaching on the plaid I have cut them and was always upset could never get it straight! Thank you so much I had some large squares and wanted to make a quilt save me a whole lot of crying :)
Love your tutorial, think it is the best one out on borders. Happy I stumbled upon your tutorial. You taught me a lot. Thanks again, I desperately needed to learn how to make a border which was longer than the quilt top and you hit it on the nail. Looking forward to watching your other videos.
HI , I just wanted to know that once your done a quilt, should you wash it before giving it as a gift? I am making memory quilts for my kids and was wandering if I should wash them first. Another questions is also should we wash the fabrics before starting a quilt?
Hi Sylvia - If the quilt I am giving away is meant to be washed, then yes I do wash it before I give it away - and I have 3 cats so I like to get the cat hair off :). If it is a wall quilt with much embellishment i would not wash it. I do not pre-wash any of my fabrics - just have never found a reason to and i have literally made hundreds of quilts and never had an issue that was so bad .
Thank you, I appreciate you answering me back, as I have pictures of when they were growing up on my quilts, I have 2 toppers done and need to do one more , then I will start quilting them. Once all done I will wash them in gentle cycle, they say not to use detergent just fabric softener when you have picture on your quilt. Is that what you would do , just asking because I am a beginner.
Hi - yes, when i sash my quilts I use the gentle cycle with cool water, a very gentle soap, like the Woolite , just not something with phosphates. and I either day them out to dry or dry on the low cycle. Can' t wait t see what you make!!
Yes, I do that alot - the trick is to use the right pin, those that are about 1 1/4 inches long with a small ball head like the Clover Silk Pins and to also drive slowly over the pins. Give it a try :)
One of the best teacher on u tube. I'll be looking forward to hearing from you more of your videos. 💐

Nancy, I would love to know where you get the pin cushion you wear on your wrist ? I would love to find one.
I've received a number of comments about this - I purchased it years ago. Unfortunately, it's no longer sold. We may just have to recreate it :)

Do you not wash your fabric first?
I am not a fabric washer but many quilters are - do what feels best for you :)
Omg, you stitched over your pins.
