Watch Carlito's Way Here: • Carlito's Way
From the director of Scarface comes the critically acclaimed crime thriller Carlito's Way. Oscar® winner Al Pacino gives on electrifying performance as former drug kingpin Carlito Brigante, who is sprung from prison by his high-powered attorney (Academy Award® winner Sean Penn). He stuns the New York underworld by vowing to go straight from a history of violence, but his plans are undermined by misguided loyalties and an outmoded code of honour. In a life-or-death battle, Carlito takes on the relentless forces that refuse to let him go. Co-starring John Leguizamo and Luis Guzman, Carlito's Way is a powerful, action-packed ride all the way to its explosive conclusion.
Everybody likes Scarface. I like Carlitos Way.
I like both
He wasn't terrifying in this role at all. That was kinda the point carlito was getting too soft to survive. Brilliant movie.
Couldn't agree more. when Benny looked him in the eye he could tell...the subtle hesitation.
@speters6916 exactly. It's like when the king lion is injured in the wild the others see and start to challenge him knowing he's weak and finished. Sad but very true in the criminal world.
Bullseye. 🎯
Eh not soft, just realizing he would never be able to get away from the streets and kind of accepted that. More like resignation than soft.
@plaidchuck he realised he was now too soft to survive in his old world. He didn't accept it. He was aware of it , and knew he had to get out and tried to leave in search of a new start somewhere else.
Damn Sean penn thought he was gangsta with that pistol😂
After people seeing Scarface a million times over, Carlito's Way came out 10 years later and people were looking for Tony Montana.
I love this transition Pacino makes; he's one of the best. Tony was Cuban, Carlito, Puerto Rican. Although Carlito was smarter and less impulsive than Tony, they both shared the no bullshit strength, courage, and fearlessness.
Pacino's eyes are killers in both movies.
Quick note. In the beginning of Carlito's Way, he runs into an old friend in the streets who was actually "Hector" in Scarface without his chainsaw.
Also, another great actor Viggo Mortenson in a wheelchair.
Leguizamos did a great job as Benny Blanco.
"Ron", Fat Saso was from many movies including a Latino series "A la cama con Porcel".
Sean Penn, another great, totally unrecognizable, great job.
Great scene. It rose with tension to the breaking point at just the right pace.
THAT'S CARLITOS WAY AH HA 🎵
HE LIKES IT AH HA AH HA 🎵
Leguizamo was great in this flick. I think he stole every scene he was in
EFFF Benny , probably one of Lequizamo s best acting in a movie !😂
More mesmerising than terrifying I'd say. Pacino's role as Carlito is my favourite from all his movies (even including the Godfather trilogy).
Benny knew Carlito was weak, which is why DePalma uses the close up at 3:22.
3:18 InCASE You STAIR at Carlito, you get the STAIRCASE
Alright, that's enough
Carlito wanted toSUIT himself, his girlfrend brought a SUITCASE to the TRAIN.
BENNY!!! LOL
I've always hated the Love story aspect of this movie. It takes too damn much time and attention away from the entertaining parts, like we get it Penelope Ann Miller was very f*cable at the time but I can only listen to "You are so beautiful" so many times before I start hitting fast forward
Funny, but true.
Eh "I want to just make money and retire to an island by myself" isn't very compelling or high stakes. But yeah women characters weren't written very well for years.
Too bad Benny got the last laugh, tho. Wound up moving across town to run a chop shop or something. Was all good until some idiots who killed a hitman's dog showed up. 😆
Like wolves fighting over a bone.
Devil’s Advocate anybody?
Love that movie, Keanu and Pacino were great.
I hated the way he treated Benny...
why
He could have had more heart with Benny, his character made mistakes and it cost him in the end
@bryans4891 his mistake was letting him go just beat up. Benny was respectful at first. He tried being friendly. Carlito was just being an a-hole for no reason right after they shook hands. Lol
@@dustindodds4827 benny was being ‘respectful’ in a way that came across as very slimy and opportunistic. He was being very arrogant before he realised who he was talking to and then suddenly switched on the slimy charm, and was extremely rude and aggressive towards everyone except Carlito - Carlito obviously saw these ugly traits in Benny and didn’t want to let him get his own way.
From the Bronx???
Carlito's so stupid disrespecting Benny Blanco but I think that's the whole point of the movie
Al passing, no? Thief
"Terrifying" ?
You sound like you Sell movies for studios.
You wouldn't know terrifying even if you were alive in the '60s.
You probably weren't even Born when I was watching Pacino's best movies in the cinema. 👎🏻
I think I'm the only one that doesn't think this movie is good. Its not horrible but it doesn't deserve any of the hype that it gets. It looks cheap as hell. You can tell most shots are on a soundstage.
