Predatorz won? Really?!?!.. Fusion was way better and unique. Power moves with style. Predatorz also had to resort to pushing and kicking people. Not only did fusion seem like the better overall bboy team with no weaknesses, they were classy.

ryankbui Actually, just after I commented, I revisited that 5 major competition winning tear that Jinjo had, and Predatorz was indeed one of the crews that Jinjo steamrolled in that stretch. Although I will give Predatorz their due, they battled hard in that defeat.
no there wasnt, I think although the level for breaking in Korea is high there simply isnt enough interest from sponsors to organize a qualifier this year. B-boying in korea has been on the decline, no Uk champs qualifier this year either and every year the BOTY korean qualifier is organized later and later into the year in smaller and smaller venues. I hope they will be a qualifier next year but I dont know.
Predatorz clearly won, way stronger solos and clean, tight routines and they didn't slow down towards the end. Fusion's routines were sick and arguably better (would clearly be better if they were cleaner and they didn't fumble one) than Predatorz but they stole more time, slowed down, and their solos were very weak compared to Predatorz.
But the first predatorz guy solos both sucked and did not do much at all, compared to everyone else from both crews. Very weak solos.. Also Predatorz noticeably messed up in their duo routine too when when two of them were doing footwork right in front of fusion. Seemed like he forgot the footwork a bit then had to think to get right back into it
I was trying to understand judge decision. I think that MAYBE Predatorz won because they had stronger solo rounds separated from routines. There were not enough strong solo responds for rounds from Botuz, Beatmaster freestyle, Jamal, that guy with diamond knees spin, and finally for really strong Gypsy power move. Fusion MC was so concentrated on routines that even when they were doing solo round it was cutted by routine, so solos where with no clear begging and end. From another hand Predatorz routines suck as hell especially comparing to Fusion MC, but I think people forget that battle is not only about routines, but especially about solos rounds, and maybe judges want to tell it to everybody by this decision.
I'd agree with you if this wasn't a full crew battle, 1v1 is different. A big point in full crew battles is the teamwork and if a crew can't respond well to your routine than you hit them again with a routine. If the other crew responds with a solo that's a sign of weakness.

I from west Moscow me my friends go to this year boty we still in hotel went to all after events also. Most people thought predatorz lost. Even in the circles there was problem with predatorz putting hands on people. And bboys in audience were notice predatorz bite signs and was saying predatorz and melting force most non original crews today

Watched the livestream yesterday. Just watched the battle again. How predatorz won is beyond me, especially when they pushed AND kicked members of fusion mc crew... Blah.
Pushing didn't knock them out so it's counted like a battle part, you know, it should happen for a show sometimes. Kick was planned, or that Korean would feel himself really bad. And FUSION MC lost because they did show instead of dance. Don't forget about it.

I am not a dancer, but my idea of talents is whatever act that successfully attracts or entertains us, a;though it is not even your interests. What is "original" about Predatorz? 1st set looks like copy of Poe One. 2nd set looks like typical UFO in beginning followed by bunch of moves bited from Hong 10 and Wing. 3rd set look like copy of Mounir. 4th set just looks like Killafornia routine followed by Toshiki's set with little footwork flava transition to it. 5th set is recycled copy version of TIP routines. 6th set is copy of Jinjo routine with added 90s in lotus style(prolly the only original move i've seen from this crew in this battle). 7th set is copy of Remind for topwork, Rainen for powermoves. 8th set is straight up bite copy of Morning of Owl members style and routines, ending with Last for One's routine finish. So wtf is "original" about Predatorz?

Toys n Effect Enemy Squad or Phase 2 vs. Sucidial Lifestyle? Best Battles in History. Back then it didn't even matter to kill the beat, being technical perfect and superclean or doing insane moves. It was all about Expression, Rawness and Flow.
BeatmasterAC Yea, but it had changed over the years. Battles like these keep getting more competitive and in order to stay "on top" of the competition competitors must put on a better performance (Whether you are dancing or just putting on a good show). That's why there are more and more routines over the years (You cannot afford to not have anything left if your opponent pulls a crazy routine on you). You can find crew battles with a 1 vs 1 format but you wouldn't find it in a BIG international stage (rarely if anything, especially battles with Korean competitors). You're gonna have to search for the underground/local jams (The ones that are REALLY keeping it raw). You ever find that for International bboys they always seem like they're putting on a show rather than dancing for themselves? It's hard to dance for yourself if you compete internationally, although in a competitive case they've faked it until they made it. You're right, but yea again, just like life itself it changes over time no matter how much you want to preserve it. Someone WILL get bored and push the boundaries.
ClaytonChan i agree but i am more the old school B.Boy. I go mostly on local/Underground Jams and Stage Battles doesn't give respect anymore. It just pleases the Crowd and pushes the Fame. Real Battles are still in the Cyphers/Circles where there are no Judges, no Prizes and no fame. Just Balls to the Wall.
BeatmasterAC I'm am pro for both. Stage battles could be very entertaining, brings new concepts to breaking but usually just for show, but underground jams they're like a party but keeping foundations all the way can get pretty repetitive (Music and dancing, I'm more new school but I believe I have a fair knowledge on the essence of breaking). I use to be a Korean dick-rider too when I first started but the more I learned about real dancing/breaking I've come to a position where I don't really favor Korean bboys anymore, in the most least racist way (or at least for show-dancers; keep the show for performances, not dance battles). For me, it's the perfect combination if you can get big stage bboys and traditional bboys to come to small cyphers and party all night together. Big stage competition isn't as fun as they use to be, and it doesn't help that there are more and more "battle systems/formats" incorporated on stage competitions.
Wtfffff I watched this battle twice to count each round and I assure ya this, FUSION MC won 3 rounds and Predatorz 2 rounds and the rest was tie! Fusion got robbed.

I am not a dancer, but my idea of talents is whatever act that successfully attracts or entertains us, a;though it is not even your interests. So, as an unqualified dance judge, i still say that the Korean should have won this final by a big margin. Sadly, it was the other way round. Can anybody explain this to me? Why did the Russians won? What is "original" about Predatorz?
1st set looks like copy of Poe One.
2nd set looks like typical UFO in beginning followed by bunch of moves bited from Hong 10 and Wing.
3rd set look like copy of Mounir.
4th set just looks like Killafornia routine followed by Toshiki's set with little footwork flava transition to it.
5th set is recycled copy version of TIP routines.
6th set is copy of Jinjo routine with added 90s in lotus style(prolly the only original move i've seen from this crew in this battle).
7th set is copy of Remind for topwork, Rainen for powermoves.
8th set is straight up bite copy of Morning of Owl members style and routines, ending with Last for One's routine finish.

Go look up all the people I mentioned who Predatorz bited. All their routines, sets, are bited from the bboys I mentioned. If you think doing Drunken Master style is not copy of Morning of Owl, followed by Last for One routine finish by holding one guy upside down in Hong 10 airfreeze form and other guy flipping in the air to finish the routine is not a copy or a huge bite of Last for One, then you're obviously a troll who can't dispute properly against my statements. Simply look up Morning of Owl and Last for One. Lot of the moves Predatorz did in this event were VERY similar and copy to all the past bboys and crews I've mentioned who I used to follow. There's literally nothing "original" about Predatorz. Top 9 and AlltheMost are top Russian/Ukrainian crews with originality but Predatorz don't show anywhere near their levels.

strange because this phenomenon began only in 2005/2006. If you watch all the BOTY before that time it was always/mostly a 1 vs. 1. Remember Battle Squad vs Second 2 None? Toys n Effect Enemy Squad or Phase 2 vs. Sucidial Lifestyle? Best Battles in History. Back then it didn't even matter to kill the beat, being technical perfect and superclean or doing insane moves. It was all about Expression, Rawness and Flow.
BeatmasterAC Yea, but it had changed over the years. Battles like these keep getting more competitive and in order to stay "on top" of the competition competitors must put on a better performance (Whether you are dancing or just putting on a good show). That's why there are more and more routines over the years (You cannot afford to not have anything left if your opponent pulls a crazy routine on you). You can find crew battles with a 1 vs 1 format but you wouldn't find it in a BIG international stage (rarely if anything, especially battles with Korean competitors). You're gonna have to search for the underground/local jams (The ones that are REALLY keeping it raw). You ever find that for International bboys they always seem like they're putting on a show rather than dancing for themselves? It's hard to dance for yourself if you compete internationally, although in a competitive case they've faked it until they made it. You're right, but yea again, just like life itself it changes over time no matter how much you want to preserve it. Someone WILL get bored and push the boundaries.

i agree but i am more the old school B.Boy. I go mostly on local/Underground Jams and Stage Battles doesn't give respect anymore. It just pleases the Crowd and pushes the Fame. Real Battles are still in the Cyphers/Circles where there are no Judges, no Prizes and no fame. Just Balls to the Wall.
BeatmasterAC I'm am pro for both. Stage battles could be very entertaining, brings new concepts to breaking but usually just for show, but underground jams they're like a party but keeping foundations all the way can get pretty repetitive (Music and dancing, I'm more new school but I believe I have a fair knowledge on the essence of breaking). I use to be a Korean dick-rider too when I first started but the more I learned about real dancing/breaking I've come to a position where I don't really favor Korean bboys anymore, in the most least racist way (or at least for show-dancers; keep the show for performances, not dance battles). For me, it's the perfect combination if you can get big stage bboys and traditional bboys to come to small cyphers and party all night together. Big stage competition isn't as fun as they use to be, and it doesn't help that there are more and more "battle systems/formats" incorporated on stage competitions.
