the 808 wide angle lens mod is a definite. the stock field of view is to narrow. I recommend it highly, just be carefully removing the old lens. new lens screws on nicely.
Not a lot of choices in the UK.. All the uk hobbyist starter drones are sold out. It's a choice between this the hubsan storm, the skyflash/flytec T18. This actually looks like it might be the best option to start. I don't want to get some expensive goggles yet but I could upgrade later. Whereas I get the sky flash and I could use the wifi fpv and put my phone in a viewer.. Tricky one.
I have a Revell branded Estes version of the original which works with my 107D tx...and further more it work's in full across when switched to expert mode. I plan to try the standard version first as I already tried the rather expensive and not so impressive above mentioned model. However I liked the way I can fly both with the larger tx so I have the extra performance and timer for the nano machine.
Dustin do you know of any all in one fpv camera and transmitter with it's own power supply system that I could add to my bigger camera quads that do not have fpv. I recently let me wife ride passenger on my 501s and she really enjoyed it. If I can keep her involved in my hobby it makes buy new drones easier. A happy wife is a happy life!!!
I forgot not mention that I swapped the stock props to Slightly larger Syma one's and it fly's much quieter... Had to remove the shell as the blade's were scraping and popping off it.

the DVR is not a new feature at all... very first h107d had it... its what they do when the quad doesn't have an on board recorder. the record button can either send a pwm signal to the quad or to the DVR but not both. its a step to the past not a step in a new direction ;-)

I don't know why they won't put a decent lens out of the box. So many of these little quads have these garbage pinhole cams that spoil an otherwise great machine.

You seem surprised from the record function, but the old 107D transmitter could do that too (mine does)
