I am vaching your videos a werry long time and you have absolutely the most detailed drone unbox and fly videos.I loked a tons off drone videos and other RUclipsrs like OriginalDobo,Acelerated Higs,Drone walley,Billi Kile but you are the KING and nobody have that much detailed Unboxing and flight videos
Hey Dustin, the last update has resolved 95% of the black bars in EIS now. RTH and target tracking are now a working feature. The flip function stops at 85% as a safety feature due to the battery usage is high to complete flips. Face and Orbit Function are due out very soon!
WoW I have to admit your review was spot on I like this drone, Your review made me love this drone! Really it was hones real you took us through all the steps you had time for and you sold the shit out of me. Thank you for taking the time to review this product, please keep up the good work. P.S. I never give good reviews this is one of my first..
I have both the Zerotech Dobby, and the Wingsland S6 ( Outdoor Version ). The S6 is quieter and feels sturdier, but the Dobby has more advanced functions. The Dobby is ridiculously loud...I believe this is due to the internal “Wasted Space”,, as in hollow. This causes a speaker effect, as it resonates the sound, like a speaker. However, I do prefer the Dobby’s advanced functions ( Target & Facial recognition, Land-In-Hand, etc...) and its controller app is way more user friendly, than the S6. All in all, it’s a trade off of features. Now, all I need to do, is determine which one to keep, and which to sell.
Another comprehensive review Dustin, love the channel. It seems that waiting for version two of this quad is the smart thing to do. Or a big firmware update.
It costs just 256.99 dollars with coupon code: DOBBYIT www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_363447.html?wid=21&lkid=10645309 I hope this may help you ruclips.net/video/2nY0OUGNBcY/видео.html
I don't imagine this will be popular with the drone enthusiast crowd, but for the hipster-traveler who doesn't really want to learn to fly a drone, this might be a good option due to it's selfie functions. ...at a price-point of $175, it would be much more attractive to buy and stick in your camera bag.
"hipster-traveler" lol, you're a funny man. Then who's the non-hipster-traveler? The one that likes to carry 3 backpacks and 5 suitcases full of gear with him? GTFOH
I got a dobby or maybe I should say, I used to have a Dobby (as my 3rd drone) I had 2 crashes with it. first crash, I was doing roof inspection. 1st attempt of roof inspection went smooth. Drained whole battery for 7 min. 2nd roof inspection, went smooth first 4 minutes then suddenly it flew backwards slowly by itself and i lost control. hit a wall, then crashed about 2 stories down. 2 arms totally went off but was just help by the wires for the motors. Had to send it back to zerotech for repair free of charge. But I paid for shipping ofcourse. they shipped back for free. report from zerotech was that the compass went bad. but after it was repaired, I was able to use it alot with no issues. until today, I flew (launch) it from a bridge of 20 meters high and 60 meters away from a waterfall. just from take off, it just flew forward away from me/ away from the falls without even touching the controls. I tried to move it back towards me, and it did. but it did move all the way back and couldn't control it anymore. hit a tree, tumbled all the way 20m down from cliff to the shallow waters. I still had wifi connection to it. had 1 chance to relaunch it from water. flew about 2 feet but it just tumbled down again. I think due to water was already inside it. or maybe the arms weren't at its normal opening position. this time, it fell upside down so no way of relaunching it. and no way to get it back as it was not allowed and actually very dangerous to go down and walk along the foot of the falls. i am just not sure whether the compass was broken again. since it was moving by itself at full speed. first compass breakdown during roof inspection, it was atleast moving slowly. anyhows, just sharing my experience with my Dobby. maybe i just got a bad unit. hopefully this wont happen to people buying it. portablity wise, I think it's the best. nice pics and videos. But unfortunately, from 3 months of using it, I have to say bye bye Dobby. Planning to replace it with Breeze. Which has motorized camera vertical panning which the dobby didn't have. and it has almost twice more flight time than the Dobby.
Good review. Interesting design. It appears to be a work in progress. You might look at the Walkira Breeze. Same concept. Arms do not fold up. From what I here it is pretty much a complete selfie quad. Bo Lorentzen really likes it!
The flip problem was probably because there is increased current draw to just fly due to having to compensate for the wind. I think that it did not think it had enough current headroom to perform the flip. It probably would work in a non windy condition.
Hey Dustin, hopefully you’ll be able to do a pocket drone comparison on the Dobby, Yuneec Breeze, and DJI Mavic (when it comes out). I too thought it was noisy compared to the Breeze. Think the props are too small on the Dobby, which might explain the noise and jello. Keep the reviews coming.
The resonance in the body causing that vibration sound seems to correlate with the jello on the video. I wonder what is causing that? It seems if you could solve that vibration, you would make it more quiet, and quite possibly eliminate the jello.
thanks for the review.......I freaked out when I saw the instructions as it wasn't in English......quick Google/RUclips saved the day and I found your review video...... I train real estate so this will be great for some basic reviews of areas and even interviews of the agents in suburb location shots.....where they can highlight an area they're wanting to sell a property in etc......Thanks
great review Dustin. looks oretty nifty for hikers. hand landing is cool... i wonder if it would work if you were on a slowly moving yatch and your hand was therefore not stationary relative to gps.
Hi Dustin First, great video, thanks for it! Short question, is the drone actually fast enough to follow you on a snowboard? and is the follow me mode work properly enough for this ??
quite exciting tech, the hand landing is just the coolest thing ever. maybe an actual controller would be cool too. keep up the great work, a 43 minute review... takes me days to edit a 5 minute video and its still rough.
Wow bro your Dobby drone worked like a charm, mine went after me like a terminator drone and sliced up my hand lol. I'm happy your experience was smooth brother. I'm afraid to even try my Dobby out again. Oh well thanks for all the great reviews. Where do you get most of your drones from since your in Hawaii?
+Warren Rohr alot of updates are rolling out since my review. Many UI changes. I'll do a follow-up soon. I get quads from all over. France, China, USA.
Thanks for the review. Has some interesting features, but it seems pretty limited in many areas (flight time, range, "iffy" tracking, etc.) Those black bars when image stabilization is on are distracting. With image stabilization off, there was enough vibration to cause some jello in the video. Oh well, I'm sure ZeroTech will continue to work on it, and perhaps some updates will improve it. Cheers.
With stabilization on jello is still the same. I don't know what kind of software stabilization algorithm can completely wipeout jello which caused by "rolling shutter". In the theory, horizontal fluctuation can be removed by software but not a vertical. That drone needs to be more solid by design for minimize the vibrations.
I will express myself on this , A lot of people use drone to take video footage but main problem is you need to take your drone (so it's okay if you have to go somewhere with your car , to carry in it ) but if you travel ? (train , plane) i don't see myself to sacrifice so much (cloth + video equipment ) for a drone ) This drone is the perfect solution for any videographers , instagrammers . Record 4K footage , foldable . Even the mavic is foldable but still a bit big (but its fine , but its not same price range ) . 300 €for a foldable +4k cam + IS are you kidding thats PERFECT !
Thorough review In the sub 250 gram category, is the wingsland s6 a worthy competitor? It's supposed to have a controller soon but battery time may be less than Dobby? Is Dobby known for a high decibel level for its size?
I didn’t see u calibrate compass! I have never got mine to track. Had it for a yr. But the main reason I don’t fly it is that it runs the battery down trying to calibrate the compass which is a daily occurrence.
Very very Good! I really liked the part where you "lost" it and found it by hearing and it landed in your hand. I just bought one and Im sitting here trying to learn how to fly it. I should say I have lost 2 drones, cheaper ones, toys really, but it still put the fear in me. I couldnt bear to lose 300 bucks. But I have watched several other folks but I give you an A+, Good stuff.
Hi, I'm interested in the dobby, but I wanted to know if the videos that reggistra are really so painful, or for family use like holidays, can vacations go well? I found the dobby at € 140 again, it is worth spending € 4/500 to get the spark, certainly better but more expensive? Or do you recommend another foldable and portable drone better than this, obviously under 300 grams?
For hand landing mode, would it recognize a cardboard painted with a hand profile ?. I have one bad arm. Would be cool if it can learn others like an X sign on a car roof or boat.
I received a quad copter ZEROTECH HESPER Drone by mail. 4 hours can not connect it to the phone because there is no were the drone wifi. What should I do? There is no answer to this question on the Internet.
Obviously the tracking functionality on this cam isn't good enough for "action uses." I Mountain bike and have been looking for a camera that can follow me while I hit jumps and going down along cliffs. I don't need anything with lengthy battery life. Just something that is quick enough to follow me while riding to do 5-10 sec shots here and there, and I can edit the videos later. Anything out there that you can recommend?
It costs just 281.99 dollars www.gearbest.com/rc-quadcopters/pp_363447.html?wid=21&lkid=10645309 I hope this may help you ruclips.net/video/2nY0OUGNBcY/видео.html

Hey Dustin great channel in following for a while. I also live on Maui as well. Yesterday I crashed my dobby drone and lost my battery. Do you know any place on island that sells drone batteries for the Dobby.

When you calibrate for the first time which way is the drone facing in the verticle mode. Camera facing down or facing up. I can not get it to calibrate in the verticle mode. Thanks!
Received my Dobby yesterday, working through the tutorials. I notice that my screen for the app is not the same as yours shown in the tutorial. Mine is 'Dobby-Obe4ca. Does that mean my app is new or older or what? Also mine says 'no internet available with 'Dobby-Obe4ca. I'd appreciate any help you might be able to offer. Really good tutorial BTW. Thanks.
hi! i bought my dobby in Japan bout 3 days ago never tested it yet. My question is..for my first flight test the factory power of the battery is lit 2 lights. Should i first charge it before i can use it or i can start the test flight even on its factory power. Thanks in advance.
Dustin Dunnill I don't know. It just keeps flashin forever and never turns green. Also when I press the button on the battery one green light just keeps flashing for ever
it ok but nt worth the high price my Hubsan can do follow me and I never have to change the camera also I notice there was no extra props with this and I wondering how long those legs are going to last when u fold out and than in .Cool idea but has a lot of problems
The mic you are using is real tinnie sounding I dont know if mabe move it away a little more or if their is some kind of adjestment but it sounds funny. Great review but ill have to wait till the price comes down a little Thank you my friend cheers.
$369.00 for this NOISE MACHINE, not gonna happen. It's not just your Dobby all the test videos are LOUD. Too bad about the quality , I can't really see a need for selfie drones when everyone walking around has a camera on their person.
+I Dont Care , I love having fun but I also like quality and it seems to be missing from this quadcopter. It may be better down the road after they work out the bugs, that being said I still think it's pricey considering the flaws it has now. They should have released it after these issues were worked out and not rushed it to consumers.
No way can I sneak up on my neighbours wife sunbathing, with that noise :-) Also my $12 nano quad with 0.3MP cam has a better jello free video image. I will keep on saving up for a DJI Phantom Thanks for the very broad review

Good product review! Very informative and I especially loved the "Storm Trooper" that kept appearing in the phones reflection!

Hi Dustin
First, great video, thanks for it!
Short question, is the drone actually fast enough to follow you on a snowboard? and is the follow me mode work properly enough for this ??
Nice review, what would you recommend as the best overall selfie drone?
yuneec breeze
Thanks for the reveiw, interesting features, but a bit pricy. Looks like it needs some improvements at all.(flight time, and tracking).
Can you transfer all the video files directly to your iphone? Like you would with a gopro? Thanks and great video!

Can u do a dobby vs micro drone 3.0?

In the sub 250 gram category, is the wingsland s6 a worthy competitor?
It's supposed to have a controller soon but battery time may be less than Dobby?
Is Dobby known for a high decibel level for its size?
Dustin. I appreciate the videos you do for us. You are upfront and honest. Keep up the great work.
I didn’t see u calibrate compass! I have never got mine to track. Had it for a yr. But the main reason I don’t fly it is that it runs the battery down trying to calibrate the compass which is a daily occurrence.

Correction: Yuneec Breeze. Walkiras new release is the Voyager 4. That is a quad REALLY worth looking at!
4G controlled?! That sells me right there alone. That quad may just up the ante on the drone game.
Hi, I'm interested in the dobby, but I wanted to know if the videos that reggistra are really so painful, or for family use like holidays, can vacations go well? Or do you recommend another foldable and portable drone better than this, obviously under 300 grams?

I still use this drone , but no support or updates now.
the advertising suggests that you can fly this indoors is that possible ?
you took off without compass calibration?..does it calibrate by itself?
very good video ! thanks
Nice Vid!
For hand landing mode, would it recognize a cardboard painted with a hand profile ?. I have one bad arm. Would be cool if it can learn others like an X sign on a car roof or boat.

Yea this one I was very curious about to see if it was worth it or nt
+wolf11 👍
I wonder if the tracking would work with a horse?
hello do you know what is the best between the S6wingland and the dobby
merci
Hello i'm really interested in , would it be possible to be in the car ( passager seat) and make some Car footage (following the car at a decent speed like 30-40 km/h)
Will you and are you going to ever do a Traxxas Aton review
How long does it take to charge a battery for one of those?
Dustin can you review the syma x54hw please
I downloaded the latest DoFun and it looks totally different than your video with a lot less options. I'm having a hard time understanding how to get the firmware update in version 2.2 I believe.
I bought second hand and this is my first move beyond toys, so I'm real green. I found two statuses-
FC Upgrade (firmware perhaps) 2.37 Latest Version 2.37 so I'd guess that's fine , however, under OS Upgrade it shows current as 2016/06/17/19/30/59 and Latest Version N/A. That has be a little concerned, but perhaps unwarranted. I haven't found a review with the new DoFun covered and no documentation other than for the earlier version.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
When you calibrate for the first time which way is the drone facing in the verticle mode. Camera facing down or facing up. I can not get it to calibrate in the verticle mode. Thanks!
Camera down 22.5 % at 15 M altitude.

I love it.
cool
hi is the footage filmed with 4k resolution?
dong zhen eio it's really 1080p
hi, what is the total record time of this drone??
hi! i bought my dobby in Japan bout 3 days ago never tested it yet. My question is..for my first flight test the factory power of the battery is lit 2 lights. Should i first charge it before i can use it or i can start the test flight even on its factory power. Thanks in advance.
irene senados aldovino charge it!!!
Do i need to log in or make an account because it does nit show mine the controls..thanks
Love it
Mine is blinking orange when it charges, is that normal?
+LMAOPictures yes
Dustin Dunnill I don't know. It just keeps flashin forever and never turns green. Also when I press the button on the battery one green light just keeps flashing for ever
Should be blue, then green. Orange means the battery is shot. You should never use the battery down to less than 51%
I was looking to get a parrot bebop drone (the first one)! Please can u review it it would be appreciated👍!
They suck
omg that i really so amazing drone....... i really love it.....

What if you are far away from WiFi
Doesn't matter. You only need wifi capable device to connect
can we insert external memory card on this drone?
Top left of the screen says how high you are.
The mic you are using is real tinnie sounding I dont know if mabe move it away a little more or if their is some kind of adjestment but it sounds funny.
Great review but ill have to wait till the price comes down a little Thank you my friend cheers.
Is there a controller you can get for it
does it really fit in your pocket
+Joshua Phillips yes. Probably not tight geans though..lol
+Dustin Dunnill how long does the hubsan h502s
What apps i can use for dobby drone in Samsung Cellphone? Anyone can help me Thanks.

Would Anyone who know why will have red flashing after turn on please ?
Does it have different speeds?
Dustin can you review the Aee Condor Elite? It just came out
+James Song looks cool. I'll try
That thing's really expensive compared to the P3 for example :/
Dustin Dunnill I'm just learning about drones do you have any recommendations for new flyers that are decent
Apple? Lol that's 100% your opinion sir! The designer most likely never even had apple on his mind while designing it lol. Pure speculation
I think the price is high for a drone with this type of camera, follow me ect, looks like a small and loud hubsan GPS quad to me LOL
$369.00 for this NOISE MACHINE, not gonna happen. It's not just your Dobby all the test videos are LOUD. Too bad about the quality , I can't really see a need for selfie drones when everyone walking around has a camera on their person.
It's people like you who don't have fun
+I Dont Care , I love having fun but I also like quality and it seems to be missing from this quadcopter. It may be better down the road after they work out the bugs, that being said I still think it's pricey considering the flaws it has now. They should have released it after these issues were worked out and not rushed it to consumers.
I got this and he said I can't return if I open it
Still waiting for the phantom4 review
+Grigoris Parisis I know..lol. Sorry I have to finish it :)
+Dustin Dunnill no prob mate ! I was joking
How do you get the video off of it
No way can I sneak up on my neighbours wife sunbathing, with that noise :-) Also my $12 nano quad with 0.3MP cam has a better jello free video image. I will keep on saving up for a DJI Phantom Thanks for the very broad review
how Do you calibrate
Can it use without internet?
Yes
