350000Km and it pulls that hard! The only frustrating is you speed up and slow down and speed up and slow down like a damn rollercoaster even when there's no traffic in sight
Probably because the car has a turbo, and the acceleration is nice. I didnt come for the top speed, but the acceleration

i prefer that. you can hear the car rowing through the gears rather than sitting at the same rpm the whole time
Damn, modifications brought on this engine are very effective. Endless power, even after 240 kph engine still pushes hard. Impressive.

belief it or not but the 850R and 850T5R are actually pretty aerodynamic hahaha they had a drag - coefficient of 0.29

Holy shish 345,000km and looks like new, in Brazil we only have volvo with low mileage and cheap for sale, you know... Volvos in different countries have low or high cost of maintenance.

The best value for money car I've ever had (s60 from 2008, 2.0 turbo). The best build quality ever, magnificent engine and the most comfortable seats I've ever sit in (s class not count)
Well, if for you the s60 is the best quality of construction, better engine etc ..... it shows that you did not ride in an 850 ..... that engine is not Volvo and the construction is ugly with greed, the seats yes it is true that they are very comfortable in any model. The best construction, authentic volvo engine, seats etc is the 850 since it is the unicorn of the brand

I'm looking at the milage! For a car that pulls hard with the Rev limit moved up a bit, I'm just amazed! Now I want one!
Can 100% recommend, just crossed 285K miles in mine and it makes basically any stock car short of big American muscle look like they are standing still. All this for $5k a good example. Cant ask for much more.

When I was younger I loved to race on the Autobahn now I'm am older and realized that it is people like you and me that Germany is talking about speed limits due to many fatal accidents. Nevertheless it is a beautiful car an nice engine.
Why actually? He decelerates when approaching other cars and doesn't pass at full speed. I don't see any tailgating either. There IS a higher risk involved in high speeds, but this is not the reckless sort of speeding that causes the typical high-speed crash. And these "many fatal accidents" are actually a lot fewer than in many countries with speed limits. Not that they don't happen, but the Autobahn is not the ultimate death trap some people make it appear.
@@westend4451 This is not true. Germany is rank 6 of all European countries in terms of fatality. Only eastern countries rank higher due to bad infrastructure and mainly drunk driving. There are lots of articles in Germany arguing that high speed and racing causes the most accidents. It's the overall picture not an individual one. He is a good driver and takes precautions. However others don't.

GPS top speed reached was 264kmh if I saw correctly, you need to be brave to do such speed with such an old car, even though back in the day this was probably the safest car on the market..
