I never understood how important these expressions and elevator pitches are until I landed a position in sales. I have better engagement with my clients and peers. I greatly appreciate these tips and explanations.
I am totally enthralled by your channel. I especially appreciate the way you incorporate and synthesize the intuitive and natural with things that can be worked on and practiced.
The nonverbal part is something nobody tells about. It was something new. I recently worked upon my elevator pitch and now you added more value to it with this non verbal part. Thanks.
I just completed an Executive MBA program and fell in love with this Video. Your tips for Elevator Speeches hit the mark, dead center! This is a critical piece in communication between professionals that needs to be learned by anyone looking to succeed in life & in business. I'm now a subscriber! Keep up the great work Vanessa, I look forward to watching the rest of your content!
Really valuable inputs. What I liked is this feedback was not about just the language in the pitch but a lot about body language, contact with people. I would highly recommend to everyone ! I hope I can improve my pitch using the technique shared.
Actually, I watched several videos on this topic this morning and yours was by far the most interesting, and engaging with techniques that are easy to understand and apply. I like that you had an example of someone doing an elevator pitch! Thanks, John! I believe I can apply what you've taught in the video and I was given tools to know how to. Well done!
I loved how you lead with positive feedback. I've learned from your content as well as from my own experiences as a sales coach that in order for someone to accept critique and implement change, the positive feedback before the recommendations is key.
Another phenomenal video! Vanessa Van Edwards is by far the world's leader on human psychology!! If you read this Vanessa, thank you for all of the value you bring!! You've helped me so much in developing my sales/business interaction abilities!
I totally agree she's great. her gestures and movement is effortless, smooth, and all around coordinated. I like how she show others how its done and can clarify your criticism in a wise and enabling way. I look foward to hearing more from her on the theme of hand development in particular.
She's right, though. At one time you were selling your goals, now you're acknowledging the company's goals and of how you're the right person to help achieve them. Your pitch is selling your qualifications, at that moment you are the right person at the right time. Thanks for this, I liked the bit about the story.
You are very good. Your movement and gesturing is effortless (it appears so), smooth, and well-timed. I like how you lead by example and are able to explain your feedback in an intelligent and empowering manner. I look foward to hearing more from you on the topic of hand movement in particular.
nope it was that help full tho emphasis with nodding was something pretty valuable and by elevator pitch, i really thought it is, what to say in the elevator like a shot and impactful conversation that, almost anyone can use, "casual conversation with impact on various situations ".
I liked that polite smile in the end, hehe .. And the look down to the side when expaining stuff like it was already boring for you or just a thought process?
Don’t “aim your torso” until they have done so with theirs first. This is a perceived “social value thing “ but above it all , make it natural and effortless.

How about the background and the lighting he used? Less junk we see the better, get rid of all the objects around you to minimal and improve your lighting source for us to see you better, we trust you better when we can see you.
It's a nice suggestion but what really matters is his pitch because technically it's to be used anywhere not just played for people to hear. I don't think his surrounding matter so much as what he has to say. The filming was just for the sake of having Vanessa help critique.
I tried to practice that last week. I tilt my head and started moving my neck, and the employer looked at me as if I was retarded. The Manager ask me if I'm okay?! and, "Do I need help!" What am I doing wrong? Tell me please!

I loved the part in which you emphasised on no-verbal explanations. The slight head movement does make a lot of difference. Thanks.

Can you help me create one?
I'm curious how much $ do you make "teaching body language"?

Shame on you. We are all here to learn and it is hard to put yourself out there. Bulling is never ok.

Yes, John does have excellent enunciation. To bad Ms. Van Edwards doesn't.

Thanks for the vid. No offence but that thing in the background makes me uncomfortable.
Hi Vanessa, is it possible to send you my Elevator Pitch. Thank you for your time and your inspiring words.
grande figa the elevator pitch sensei
How about the background and the lighting he used? Less junk we see the better, get rid of all the objects around you to minimal and improve your lighting source for us to see you better, we trust you better when we can see you.
yea what you said

gacgirl Issue is, I'm more likely to turn him off before I hear his pitch if that is what I see. But that is just me, maybe you are different.
totally agree with this three year old post !

The first guy seemed like he was trying to abduct me.
The color temperature of the video kept changing, and was distracting.
This girl Vanessa is really beautiful, I'm I the only one seeing this?
Omg if I were to do my speech in front of you I would freeze cause your beauty 😍😳

You are very pretty
Most importantly, his pitch was too long.
