Deserted Universal Studios Hollywood During the Pandemic [DJI Mavic 4K]

- Universal has always been my favorite theme park because of the overall experience you get there. It is an amazing park to visit with family, friends, or significant other, and has many interesting rides, photo spots, and other entertaining activities. The flights taken on this day produced some nice views of the park entrance, Krustyland, Wizarding World of Harry Potter, Water World, Transformers, and others. A lot of these rides are more amazing on the inside than the outside, so an aerial shot may not do it justice.
Most businesses have closed their doors during the pandemic, including theme parks. A DJI Mavic 2 pro was used to get some footage of an eerily empty Universal park on a beautiful Southern California day. You typically can't fly over this park because it's always full of people during the day and they have a no drone policy they can enforce on their property.
Universal is also located beneath a class C airspace, so you would need to file flight plans with the FAA. Some sections of the park have a flight ceiling of 300ft and other parts are at 200ft or even 100ft. I wouldn't recommend flying here. Though not really visible on this video, the park is crawling with security guards at each entrance and throughout the park, so I would advise you not to approach. And you especially do not want to attempt to launch from park property. I took off west of the park and flew for 38 minutes on two batteries.

Thanks for watching. It was a really fun and interesting flight. Usually you can't fly there because it's full of people, but the closure during the pandemic made it possible. I did the same at six flags

No, the flight restrictions still exist. You need to file flight plans and call the nearby airports

Flight beyond line of sight and lacking sufficient airspace authorizations. This is the type of flight that ends up giving drone operators a black eye with Congress and invokes more regulation.
