- On June 20, 2013, Universal Studios Florida held the official grand opening of Transformers: The Ride 3D featuring an action-packed ceremony that included jets soaring overhead, pyrotechnics, and Optimus Prime and Bumblebee arriving to protect the Allspark from Megatron and the Decepticons, led by General Morshower. Walking the celebrity red carpet were Optimus Prime voice Peter Cullen, Megatron voice Frank Welker, and executive producer Steven Spielberg.

I will forever remember this day. My mom and I were having a discussion just outside our house, and these jets formation flew over my house to prepare for the flyover over Universal for this event. Then, we went to the store to grab some things, and when we returned, our house had been broken into, our suitcases opened and run through, as we had been preparing for a trip to London a week or two away. Maybe one or two days afterwards, I looked up any reason why these jets formation flew over our house, and I ran across this video.
This day, although not the best day for my family, was still one of the coolest days I will remember, just because of those formation flying jets.

What a great opening theme, I was there and it was great to see.
I always get so excited seeing trucks painted like Optimus because that's no small task tight there.
That was the actual Peterbilt Optimus from the 1st 3 Transformers movies.
I was there that day and just came back to rewatch this since I lost the footage from that day. Was so cool to see in person.
This is probably one of the most epic grand openings to an attraction ever. The music along with the fighter jets is just amazing!!!

I was there & it was AWESOME! It was a dream come true to see Optimus & Bumblebee in person.
I love the outside of the building. Though, it does kind of make me feel that we got screwed over at the Hollywood park with its giant billboard looking entrance.

I was there this morning! I got there way before park open and was part of the crowd that was escorted to the Central Park area on the lagoon for the general public viewing area. Thanks for posting a much closer-up view of the events! I couldn't see any of the red carpet stuff from where I was at.
I think the music playing at 3:13 is from the forest battle music in ROTF.
Can't wait to see this if I go to Orlando next year for the 2022 Special Olympics USA Summer games

Harry Potter will always make money. People will always travel to come see it and will come again and again. As good as Jaws was, it wasn't drawing in the crowds the same way and it was starting to look outdated. Harry Potter is a financial gold mine and always will be. It was my generations Beatle-mania.

I wish they would do the same thing Warner Bros. Studios and display them in their museum. A very good example would be the vehicles from the Dark Knight Trilogy that are displayed at the Warner Bros lot.
