Hi Mayya, oats are gluten free! The issue is that oats are often contaminated with gluten because they may be processed in the same facilities as gluten-containing grains like wheat. If you find oats with the gluten-free mark on the packaging, you can use it without problem. Here in Italy every product for celiac has the gluten-free mark on the packaging, even the products made without wheat, because every kind of naturally gluten-free product could be contaminated with gluten in the processing.
I know it pretty well because I had gluten inotollerance for many years of my life and I have some celiacs in my family.
I'm sorry but under my gluten free app any kind of oats are not gluten free as they come from wheat. My son and I are coeliacs and I have the app that gives a x on the products that aren't gluten free and a tick for those that are. So maybe this is misleading and the title should change as you could be influencing those who shouldn't be eating gluten at all. Thank you.

@@HowTasty Thank you for your reply but I am Australian and we have a Celiac Society that has an app that list all products and ticks the gluten free options safe for celiacs as well as the additives safe for celiacs. Anyway I know that each person is different as some may only have intolerance to gluten whereas celiacs, as you know, cannot have anything that comes in contact with gluten products either. I do appreciate your information from your perspective though.
