I once introduced myself to Don Revie, 1981 Heathrow Airport. He was with that Arab individual because of his connections now with Saudi Arabia I kept it brief . I kept it short and respectful and both don and the Arab individual were very respectful to me.
Naming players and calling them equals....John O'Hare was begging for his name to be mentioned. He wanted to run through that wall for his manager ❤️⚽️ That's the Cloughy effect 👌🏻
@@DMArsenalArchives I love the movie because it's a fair enough portrayal. I was supporting them in the 70s, but a bit young to get it all at that time. Looking back, you just can't see him as the one that got away because, at that time, he was a genius with all of his priorities screwed up. The Revie hatred was sheer lunacy & he took it out on the club & players. So most (if not all) were happy to see him gone. He changed his ways as a result of all of that negativity. And that's why his true genius was then used in the right way. He became a great manager, but never a hope of that at Leeds.
Its the one part of the film nobody disputes, in fact Johnny Giles said Brian called the players by name and told them each a lot more, having said that Johnny sued the author for most of the book being slanderous to brian and as he called it , the conviniently dead.
If he had said, as Peter Lorimer said, that he only said all the things he said to wind Leeds up at the time Revie was there, maybe the players would have accepted that....instead Forest won it all....well almost
@CapitalBhoy78 You missed the seventh one auld lad - The one that has promised to transform Ya wee Tim brothers Aston Villa tae league champions and world beaters again. They expect nae more than big silverware doon at 'the park' with the big money he has there in they markets the noo. As a fellow scotsman I am proud that the only leaders in england that are capable of leading are leaders.. The Eck'll win everything going the noo. No-one will ever recall his billy boy cup 2011?
John McGovern was stiched up by the Leeds players - went on to win the European Cup - and was highly rated by Beckenbauer....Great team Leeds but didnt need the dirty fouls and the timewasting ..
" aghh you are a disgrace , missing the target from their ,you want bloody shootin
Only watched this film, the one and only one about football and football history I'll ever watch is because of Mr Sheen, blooming superb!
Loses the Clough accent at 6:11 when he says “he was useless in the middle” says it in his native Welsh tongue

Thank you so much for uploading all of this. I'm a huge Leeds fan, so of course it's infuriatingly excellent!! MOT!
Always wondered what Leeds fans thought of this film mate? Is Clough regarded as one that got away by Leeds? How’s he regarded up there

Uncle Sam is bloody western indies
Brilliant film,
Brilliant
love that line
Was at that charity shield match, and Leeds were dirtier than ever
Giles should have been sent off in that match for punching Keegan. .
Chelsea gained so many fans when they played Leeds in 1970, because Leeds were so hated😂
When managers where managers.
Don fooking revie

Cloughie was different class 👍
I bloody hope this isn’t what it is like for the next Liverpool boss after Klopp

3:40 that looked painful
Interesting thing is Elland Road is not that different than this......... Like Klanfeild and the Swamp they are aged stadiums that lack investment
DIIIIRTY LEEDS
Leave the city ,move And settled to Europe ....
@scatmansmooth Didn't know McLeish would go to Villa when I wrote that haha

I was never a fan of Leeds. I was a Sunderland fan and they were underdogs when they beat Leeds in 1973 fa cup when i was 12
Disgusting the way Clough was treated by the players. He was on a different level to those overrated cretins
They were hardly overrated. Top internationals and Clough only had himself to blame. Hardly the right approach at the beginning with that team talk
This is a movie, not entirely accurate.
John McGovern was stiched up by the Leeds players - went on to win the European Cup - and was highly rated by Beckenbauer....Great team Leeds but didnt need the dirty fouls and the timewasting ..
